Here is the topic you chose to view
The Media Blvd Terms of Hosting Agreement is designed to give both you (the webmaster) and us (Media Blvd) a detailed understanding of the services offered by Media Blvd's free website hosting service and the subsequent requirements.

Unless otherwise stated you may contact us with any queries or concerns about anything contained in this agreement by posting on the Media Blvd Webmasters Forum, sending an email to webmaster@mediablvd.com or contacting a Media Blvd Director directly.

Updates and Activity
Upon approval of your hosting application, your new webspace will be set-up and you will be sent a unique Welcome email detailing all the related information.  You should launch your website within two weeks of the webspace being set-up.  If you require longer, prior approval can be obtained.  Failure to obtain prior permission may result in an application being cancelled and subject to reapproval.

Once live, you should update your website on a regular basis with relevant content and no less than once per week.  Inactive sites may be deactivated or removed.

If you are going to be away for a long period of time or intend to put the site on hiatus, please contact us and ensure we are kept informed of the situation.

Ads
We currently ask that one 468*60 pixel inline banner ad be placed on each page.  We will never ask you to place a pop-up ad on your website or employ the use of rich-media ads (e.g. ads which rely on Shockwave, Flash or Javascript animation, or sound).  Ads should be placed within the top screen of each non-splash page, within frames if applicable and fully visible.

Ads can be customised to your website and should be incorporated using a single include line which we will provide within your Welcome email.  You should not alter the include line or the ad code yourself. If you require ad colours to be modified, please contact us.  If you experience difficulties placing the ads, also contact us for assistance.

If you would like to use ads of a different size, please contact us for assistance.

Forum and Moderating
If one does not already exist, a Media Blvd forum may be created for the subject of your website.  The forum link should be placed on the main page of your website in addition to any other places of your choice.

You may allocate one moderator for the forum (including yourself).  Each moderator will be assigned at least one Mod Consultant who can offer support and guidance with any problems or queries.  Additional moderators may be selected by the forum Mod Consultant.

If you agree to moderate the forum or appoint a representative to do so, they will be subject to Media Blvd moderating standards and removed if they do not comply.  These standards include but are not limited to:
* posting frequently on the forum to encourage discussion
* ensuring the forum-wide rules are adhered to
* remaining neutral when mediating disputes
* treating all posters and staff members with respect

We reserve the right to remove the forum if we see necessary.  We agree to make all reasonable effort to do this with your approval.

If a Media Blvd forum does not exist for the subject of your website, you may optionally link to one of the more general forums that cover your website subject.

Monetary Schemes
Media Blvd provides a free hosting service and as such PayPal donation schemes are not permitted on your website.

Any other affiliate scheme resulting in profit must be discussed and agreed with Media Blvd in advance.

Store
If one does not already exist, a Media Blvd store may be created for the subject of your website.  You will be informed if this is the case and if possible, a link to the store should be placed on the main page of your website in addition to any other places of your choice.

Charitable Causes
From time to time Media Blvd may be supporting charitable causes that we ask for your assistance in promoting on your website, e.g. with a button link, a corner banner or a news article.  Your assistance is optional but our requests will not be unreasonable and your co-operation will be appreciated.

If you are supporting a charitable cause on your website or collecting donations, please contact Media Blvd so we can affirm the legitimacy of the charity and offer additional support, if you require.

Contests
If you are holding a contest on your website, please contact Media Blvd in advance to ensure it fits within Media Blvd's Terms of Use

From time to time we are contacted about contests from other parties, if such a contest is relevant to your website subject, we will contact you with further information.

If you would like help advertising your contest, please contact us for assistance.

Security
You should keep all usernames and passwords related to your website confidential.  Contact us at any time if you would like your username or password changed, or you think the security of your website has been compromised.

Each webmaster is provided with access to the Media Blvd Staff and Webmasters forums.  You may request access to these forums for additional website staff if required.  It is the responsibility of each individual not to disclose to other parties any private Media Blvd discussions found on these boards and access may be restricted if this is in doubt.

Disk Space and Bandwidth
We will supply all websites with Webalizer to track their website statistics in addition to the Control Panel.  Details will be supplied in your unique Welcome email.

In an effort to reduce unnecessary bandwidth waste, we offer the following guidelines for media-related files:
* When placing thumbnail images on a page, the thumbnail should be reduced in size, not just a manually forced size reduction of the full-size image using HTML coding.
* If uploading large numbers of screen captures, use common sense to find a reasonable balance between the number of captures and their quality and size.
* Large media clips (3MB or greater) should always be zipped to ensure they are downloaded rather than streamed.  We encourage the same practise for smaller clips as well.
* You should consider rotating large media clips to reduce your disk space and bandwidth usage whilst also encouraging visitors to return more frequently.

To protect your bandwidth usage, we automatically disable hotlinking of your files.  If you believe there is a problem with the hotlink block, please contact us for assistance.

Domain Names
An unlimited number of domain aliases can be added for your website.  Unless otherwise agreed, it is your responsibility to maintain the domain registration for any domain used.  Please notify us if the domain registration expires, failure to do so may result in the immediate deletion of your website without warning or consent.

Limitations and Responsibilities
No pornography, warez or other illegal material (including material violating copyrights of others) is permitted on your website.

You agree to take full responsibility for your website's content and any of its wrong doings.

Miscellaneous
You should make every effort to ensure your website displays correctly on a variety of popular browsers and operating systems.

You must include a link to MediaBlvd.com on the main page of your website.

You agree not to move to a new host for a minimum of one year.

Terms of Use
This agreement is used in conjunction with the Media Blvd Terms of Use and your acceptance implies you have read and understood the Terms of Use document too.

If a site is found in violation of any of this Hosting Agreement, the account may be immediately terminated without notice or consent. This will include multiple complaints of copyright infringment against a web site.  We reserve the right for any reason to edit, move, remove or refuse without notice any contents maintained in a web site directory, including but not limited to accounts, files and web pages.

This document is subject to change so please check back regularly.
