OMG OMG OMG This is have said numerous times since www.pencils2mediamoguls.com announced I had won the Michael Trucco phone call for my pencil purchases. I had doubts at some point that it would come through...then last night about 10pm, while in a meeting on the BSG thank you project, my phone rings. A nice deep manly voice says, "Is this Rene'?" I sad yes it is and he says, "do you know who this is?" I reply "um, no" and he says "Think long and hard about it" In my mind I flash back through several ex's and then WHAM it hits me. " Well hello Michael Trucco" (IMG:style_emoticons/mediablvd/grin.gif) He laughs. Needless to say it was late in my time zone and he asked when the best time would be to set up the call that I had won, we settled on today at 1pm. A few exchanges before hanging up ended with him letting me know that he remembered me from the Grand Slam Summit and OMG that blew my mind and made me feel GREAT! Thanks Michael, again. So this afternoon arrives and while waiting for my house phone to ring my cell phone rings. (IMG:style_emoticons/mediablvd/grin.gif) I had forgotten to ask him last night if I could record the conversation so I asked him while on my cell. The funny thing is that he had been trying to call my house number but apparently as I kept testing my phone line to make sure it was working, it sent his call to voice mail. Once I knew he was calling back I stopped getting in the way and wha laa we were off and jabbering for about 30 minutes. Presently I'm uploading the audio file of the conversation to a server. you can stream it through windows media server, as soon as the link is ready. In the conversation he discusses many things and leaves messages for his fans here. Be forewarned he does talk in some detail about his car accident and what he went through, several places may tear you up and several more will make you laugh. I said the word awesome too many times and laughed a lot, oh giggles and aweeed and sighed (IMG:style_emoticons/mediablvd/lol.gif) I had and absolutely wonderful time. There is personal reveal in here and casual conversation. I hope that you all enjoy it, please comment on it. Oh there is something for everyone in there too. Okay took a couple tests to get this right, but here is what you have to do: Copy this and paste it in your browser: mms://media.plattsburgh.edu/burlrl/MT02feb08phonecallwma.wma If you are using firefox a box will come up and say you need to open an external program to play select yes. you will need windows media player installed on your computer to play it. If for some reason you cannot get it to play let me no and I will find another way to get it to you. This is copy of the OP in a thread on scifi.com that I thought I would share here on Michaels forum. If you cannot hear the file, please don't hesitate to contact me. His story and comments should be heard as many as can, its that beautiful, he's that beautiful. |

And thank you, Michael, for allowing her to record the conversation. You're obviously a beautiful soul and it was really delightful to get to know you from this conversation. It was also so generous of you to share your accident experience along with the growth and insights you had afterwards. And no worries about the metal detectors; I have steel rods in my back and I fly all the time with no trouble. So glad you're healing beautifully and many thanks again to both of you! -Lori |

Michael,
I've been a big fan of the characters you've played. After hearing your story I'm a big fan of the person you are. What an incredible gift you've been given! I work with doctors who build contraptions in people every day and many of those people do not share your outlook. I'm a firm believer that faith, guts and hard work can go pretty far but it's hard to inspire people when you haven't been in their shoes. You're living proof that there's something deep down that can pull you through anything. Now that I've put you up on a pedestal, I would like to know how you passed the time while you were recovering? Did you go through periods where you thought you'd never get back to "normal"? (If you're anything like me, "normal" is relative.) Maybe your insight can help some people I know. Thanks for sharing your incredible story. Take care, KW |
