mbflag.gif For those of you who don't know who he is, Garth Nix is an Australian science fiction/fantasy writer for young adults. His books include the Keys to the Kingdom series, the Sabriel series, and Shade's Children.

I personally enjoy his books because of the imagination he puts in each. The Sabriel series in particular I like, because of the realistic world that you think you could just walk into.

Has anyone else here read his books?

I've read the Sabriel books, as well as Shade's Children.

I find both of those worlds to be very grounded, in the sense that with just a few tweaks to the universe as we know it, either one could be possible. I also like the way he manages to write about young characters without seeming to look down on them or the reader.

I really like Garth Nix too. A friend of mine recommended Sabriel and after reading that book, I quickly went out and got the rest of the Abhorsen Trilogy. And it was awesome. smile.gif I love how the stories take place in a place somewhat like our world with a twist. It makes it interesting and fun to read. smile.gif
