So I'm guessing that this thread isn't locked anymore Okay, I'm hoping this works. . . .

I'm in the process of doing a compete toon of the entire cast of the L Word (and some of the more notable guest stars - as they fit into the scene). So far I've done the characters of Alice and Dana (though I'm 99% sure I'm going to try doing Dana's head again, but it so doesn't look like her at all). Because this is a lazy saturday afternoon I decided to put the two characters together into their own mini scene . . . and here it is.



comments are more than welcome (especially about how to make Dana more Danalike - put her hair back maybe?)

Lynn, this was great. You are very talented. I'd offer help in making Dana look more like Dana, but other than writing, I have no other artistic talent really. My limit is crudely drawn stick figures. Great work.

I decided to give the Dana character another try tonight. . .well, I guess it's technically morning now, but who needs sleep when you could be drawing cartoons (I feel about 5 right now ). I'm a little more pleased with how this one came out. I also meant to put in the "Crisp-ay" thing before, but by the time I remembered, I was too lazy to go back and do it.

Did you draw and scan them? Or did you color with the PC? I'm no expert, but it looks like half drawn, half PC

Thanks! I'm much happier with the second Dana - except, as you said, the neck is a bit too wide, but I hope to fix that up a bit using computer (once I have access to desktop again - right now I have my laptop with me, and it's too difficult to do much graphics-wise with it). So I guess that kinda answers your question - the characters are drawn and colored by hand, and then captured by digital camera (so they appear blurrier and less shaded than they actually are). I just used the computer to combine both individual characters and add the background color (I can't stand leaving anything white )

I'd love to see others do some toons of the l word (since it's not exactly my strength, I'm more prone to doing 'realistic' pictures).

Okay, this is not quite a toon, but I only had time for a scribble now...a really fast scribble, obviously
But I guess you can see that this should be Shane (but maybe only because I posted it on a L Word Message Board )

Hope you guys enjoy! I'll probably do other drawings soon, and I guess I'll spend more than 10 minutes on them then

I'm eventually going to do at least a toon version of Kit (perhaps I'll do her next, since I had no one in particular planned). You can pick almost any one of the current "Kit" pictures floating around right now. She looks good in all of those. I'll check my other pics, but some of them are older, so a more recent one would be great.


I like both the serious and the toon version, so do whichever you were planning anyway.

I'd say that will be a project for the coming weekend (heaven forbid I do anything else in the wee hours of a saturday morning).
