Full Version: Games that can suck the life out of you.

I recently bought and installed the Morrowind GOTY edition and I'm getting a little bent about it. There are some games that are deep and interesting enough that they can occupy your mind in completely irrational ways. System Shock 2 had my viserally tense for the month I took to play it. Medal of Honor had me renting WWII movies. I'm nearing the end of Deus Ex now and I'm renting the last two Matrix movies just to stay in the vibe. I can see that if I dive into this Morowind game that it will have the same effect. I'm resisting so far, but it's taxing.

Anybody else ever get sucked into a game like that?

lol.gif As soon as I saw the thread title, before I even read your post I was going to name Morrowind. That game has sucked hours and hours of my life away and I am no where near the end of it or even where I'm suppose to be.

Another would have to be Halo. I played it through on easy with my hub and we couldn't let the game go so we played it through on the next difficulty level and then the next. And now we still play a level sometimes.

For me it's antyhing with the words "Final Fantasy" on the cover.

Seriously, I've eaisly spent 325 hours of my life JUST on FF3/6!

Well I know this isn't quiet what you meant but these are the games that once I finish them and I am stuck for a game to play one day, are always at the top of my list:

GTA: III and GTA: Vice City and the not so popular Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 and its expansion Yuri's Revenge.

Any of the Final Fantasy games are on my list as well. I cannot tell you how many times I've played 8 or 10. And I'm playing through X-2 right now.

Sigh too bad Black Isle was terminated. They made the best games. I think I sat through them the most. Boulder's gate series, Lion Heart, and the Fallout games!

Its not the games I get sucked into so much as the games that suck the life out of ME!!!

I'll rent a game & I always want to beat it before it goes back even if its a bad game.

I will sit for hours untill Im totally drained.....cant.....click.....another..... button.....

The games that do that to me are Jak 2, Legacy of Kain, Silent Hill(all of them), anything that plays like Doom, games that have a lot of spinning camera angels!!

Theres other ones. I cant rember them right now.

Thoes games I dont want to play because their bad, but I rented it so I want my moneys worth!! Im going as far as I physically can!!!!

Super Mario Sunshine. Really an evil game. I can't understand what the makers of the game were thinking when they made this game but the graphics are amazing. That's what my hubby is playing right now and I swear there are moments of frustration with the game when he feels like throwing the GameCube over our balcony. lol.gif

Recently, I have been really addicted to playing The Sims. Sometimes a few hours will go by before I even realize how long I've been playing the game.

I feel the same way way about Zelda: The Phantom Menace for the DS. You wouldn't believe the time I've' spent on that game.

Oh I don't know but alot for sure.

Right now Mass Effect is sucking the life out of me. I started the game on the XBox in the kids room but after I bought my XBox elite for my room I wanted to start over so I'm going back through the whole game. It's a great game so I don't mind so much. I have approached a few things differently so it's changed the game somewhat. It's awesome!

I'm not sure if it sucked the life out of me but it was definately close. Professor Leyton and the Curious Village is finally complete. All puzzles including the Professors challenges. Whew! It took along time and some hard work but it was a fun ride for sure.

Call of Duty: MW2 - I spend all of my free time on this, me and a group of folk from the USA all meet up at the same time, we all chat over the mic and shoot the guts out of everyone else. We love it and we spend hours doing it. It's not healthy to be obssessed with the game, but it's soooooooooooo fun.
