I have two miniature pinchers and i felt a lump on one of them a couple days ago. When i took them to the vet, i was told it was a form of tumour. Also found out that both of my babies have them and both have to have surgery.

Has anyone else experienced this and how serious is it? Is there anything i can do to prevent?

I'm not a dog person, so not much help here. But I'll ask my husband, he's a cancer doc and knows tumours in general.

I do know that I tend to get "fatty benign" tumours in my breast. Have had 5 removed in the last 20 years. They can turn cancerous, so my husband instist they come out when we find them.
