[size=18]How many times did it take you to get your driver's license?

Just wondering.

I got mine on the first try but back when I did it you just had to take a written test, not a driving test. Not sure if I would have passed if there was a driver's test

I failed my test the first time. He said "back up here" and when I did he says "You realize you just backed over a cross walk". So yeah, before I even left the parking lot I lost 10 marks which = a fail. Idiot guy. I got the same guy the second time too. But he passed me with no marks off. I'm still mad at him and that was 14 years ago

First time I tried too hard and failed for being too hesitant, then the second time I failed for speeding. The third time I just thought what the heck and stopped trying so hard, and I passed

Twice, the guy said I hit the cone, but I didn't. I would've felt it.

We have two systems here... you can either do the "log book" or take the test. IMO, the log book is the easy way out; you basically pay for your license by having a certain number of lessons and having your instructor tick off things are you complete them. The test is where you just have an actual driver's test with 5 manouvres etc. That's for your provisional license, where you drive by yourself.

I opted for the driving test and failed the first time because I couldn't parallel park! I still can't do it on the first try in the street Anyway I got 79% and the cut off was 84%. I got it on the second go with the same instructor with 93%.

For the learner's licence, it was a written test only and I got that one on my first go.

I haven't tired yet, but it's very hard and expensive to get your driver's license over here. First you have to take like 30 lessons, and afer that you do a test. If you fail, you take new lessons and try again after awhile.

I've been saving for like forever to get it, and I guess I should try taking lessons soon.

Driving scares me so I haven't taken my test yet. Testing makes me anxious. I think my big fear is I don't deal w/failure very well. So my fear of failure seems to take over.

2 times here But I took mine in Alaska, at age 16 and it was in November, it was icey!

my parents got me a car after my 1st year in college [guilt purchase b/c they bought my brother a motorcylce for his HS graduation]...

my friend Mary and i practiced parallel parking for a solid week before trying... she took her test in my car and passed the first day...

i had a 95 before trying the parallel parking... hit the pole - automatic fail

went back 2 days later [mandatory wait period]... had a 8, then hit the pole on parking again = fail....

so the 3rd try i got a woman instead of the big burley guy i had the 2 previous attmepts. We talked shampoo, etc [she liked how mine smelled]... got to the parking, hit the pole again! BUT - she said - well, i'm supossed to fail you, but you didn't hit the pole hard enough that if it was a pedestrian or car it would have caused any damage, so I'll pass you whew!!!

During this time I had put in a reques tto change dorms at college, the dorm I wanted was all parallel parking, so after this ordeal, i called the school and cancelled my request

14 years later, i avoid parallel parking as much as possible, but am getting better. I don't hit anything anymore, but now I'm a good 2 feet from the curb

Twice I woulda got it the first time but I missed by 2 questions....

2nd time for me. My first I got marked down for speeding which I thought was rubbish, although my instructor always told me to watch me speed... meh.
