I've been meaning to rent it but I want somebody's opinion on it. Was it any good? I saw a picture on the Internet from the movie where Jason is kissing a guy. That totally turned me on. But was the movie any good?

The movie was great! Jason did an excellent job as the lead role. If I'm correct, it was his first lead role in a movie. I really think he was amazing. I liked the movie. I bought it on DVD. If you need a Jason fix, it's a movie to get you going! Lots of Jason to see.

I also have the movie and let me tell you it's GREAT!!!!!! he is so amazing. He does such a great job. lots of mystery and drama but I can assure you that you will like it. AND YES LOTS OF JASON!!!!!!! that is always great all the time

I have seen several pictures from the movie where Jason is with a guy. Does he play a gay/bi character? 'Cause that's hot. lol.

His character is gay, but it's not one of those films that slaps you in the face with it. It's a major part of the storyline, but it's more of a story of a father and son learning to deal with their differences. It's beautifully done and well acted on Jason's part. He only has one kiss with that guy. He has another scene that I think is more sensual than the kiss. It's filmed in flashback and they are slow dancing together. I find that scene much hotter than the kiss one.

I hope I am making sense. I tend to ramble. This is a must see film for any of Jason's fans.

It is a great movie. Vicky described it perfectly. Jason does an amazing job for a really emotional role. There are some angst with his father (played by Dean Stockwell, from Quantum Leap) and the bad guy (there's always a bad guy or girl in movies ). All in all, I bought it for Jason and the few pictures I saw and was very pleasantly surprised. If you are a Jason fan, don't hesitate

OMG!!! i was walking through a used bookstore one that i always have gone to (they trade/buy dvd cd books etc) waiting for cash and as i was browsing i started looking through the videos which i never do b/c i always buy dvds...anyhoo, i was walking thru and saw drama and thought i wonder...i got to the "r"s and skimmed through and there it was...everything went dark and a bright light shined on this one movie...RITES OF PASSAGE...i even thought i heard angels singing...anyways i had to look twice to make sure it was the right one...i had to buy it...it was just sitting there waiting for me...ok maybe i am little off the wall right now but i am so proud to own the movie which i bought for $4...i will watch it tonight...can't wait...

hey i finally watched my movie and i thought it was okay...jb is in like the whole movie...his performance was excellent...i guess he started filming at the beginning of roswell...cause he had the hair from beginning of season 1...anyways, he looked hot...no shirt and tank tops do him justice in this movie...anyway besides the dancing scene that was mentioned by a previous poster...that was really the only "intimate" scene and they were just dancing...and then when the one guy kisses jb, he was arguing with jb and he kind forced a kiss on jb and jb pushed him away...but that's about it...it was okay but jb...magnificent!!!

It is a really, really good movie. OMG Crystal you have to see it, Jason is just amazing in it. I've got it on DVD and I watch it heaps, used to have it on VHS but the tape snapped due to my constant re-winding of JB scenes

That's how good he was in it, his performance cost me a DVD and almost a new VCR...lol

I bought the movie as well because I became a huge fan of JB after Roswell, and I´m so glad I did! His performance is outstanding, the soudtrack is amazing... if you´re a true fan of JB, you won´t be dissapointed. I particularly enjoyed the way he appears in the movie (behind the curtain), and that shot where he´s standing in the second floor of the cabin with one hand in his pocket and the other one in the railing.... his eyes reveal everything.
The DVD also includes commentary of JB and Victor Salva. Victor Salva keeps complimenting JB for his performance throughout the whole movie

I just have to agree with every great review so far. This is a really good movie, and Jason is great in it. I bought it purely because Jason was in it - I hadn't read any reviews or anything and I'm glad to say that it was well worth the extra postage!

Buy it and you'll watch it over and over again. I also really recommend watching the Director's and Jason's Commentary version too.

I’m sure I’ll LOVE the movie! I’d better I paid an arm and a leg for it, lol!!
I ended up buying it from Barnes and Noble. I found it on Amazon.com but that place confused me and e-bay confuses me even more, so… I got it there. The price of the movie itself was like $24. 98. Then there’s tax. Then there’s shipping, which was like $2.93... So it all came up to almost $30. (I go t a B&N Card for x mas and wiped that baby out with one phone call, haha!)

I also used some x mas money to order some Roswell books while I was at it! I bought the book, “A New Beginning” (I think that’s what it was called) it’s a Post Series Finale, so I’m looking forward to reading it then o got “Meet the Stars of Roswell” and “Roswell Pop Quiz”. The book should be in in a week and they said the movie should be here in 5-11 days. The hard part is going to be the waiting!!

OHMIGOSH! My movie came today! I was so excited when they came to my door I was screaming, lol! Then I ran into my room and watched it!

TO ANYONE WHO HAS YET TO SEE THIS MOVIE: THIS MOVIE IS SO VERY MUCH WORTH THE PRICE YOU PAY! Jason did an AMAZING job in this movie. This is just another thing showing how much of an incredible actor he is. Yes in this movie he is gay, and he plays it wonderfully. He doesn’t overact or play up to the stereotypical ‘gay’. This movie really is a must have.

OMG don't even get me started on Rites of Passage. I have it on DVD and I watch it constantly.

Jason is just so amazing in that movie. It was after I first saw him in Roswell that I saw Rites of Passage (knowing he was in it of course) and to see his acting ability come to life so much and to see him in another role to Max Evans, really just glows how much of a talented actor he really is.

I think he deserves an Oscar as well; for this movie and every other he has done, hehe! Like I said, he was just so amazing in this movie. In the commentary, the director said how his favorite Jason scenes were when he had no lines, cause of his facial expression and his eyes. How he could just make these expressions that were so powerful. And of coarse, Jason just sorta laughed and said thanks, LOL!

Glad to hear you have the movie as well, Letty! How long ago did you purchase it? And what’s your favorite scene in the movie? I went all day in school today, thinking about the movie. This may sound corny but it really did move me. I have a best friend who is gay and this movie was just perfect. In the commentary, Jason said how he wanted to portray it as just two people being so in love with one another (Campbell and Billy). Just nheariung him talk about that, and his opinion -sorta- on homosexuality, (from the commentary I get the feeling he supports it, or at least isn’t against it) It just made me love him more!

Hi Liz_Evans i have had the movie for about 6 months now and i constantly watch it I agree with all of you he is so amazing in the movie. ummm a favorite scene????? well it;s hard because i love the whole movie i love all the dramatic scenes i dont want to ruin it for anybody that has not seen the movie. It has so much suspense. And Yes Jason deserves an Oscar for his performance Absolutely PERFECT!!!

Yeah, I couldn't find the movie anywhere either So I ordered it from Barnes and Noble. I was going to order it online, but it confused me too much, lol! Yay! I’m really glad to hear that! You wont be disappointed, I assure you! The one thing I really like about his character, Campbell, is that he seems… I dunno I wnana say quiet and keeps to himself; almost a little shy. But I think that had to do with his upbringing. (Can’t say anything more, I don’t wanna ruin anything : ))

Another thing I like about this DVD is that Jason is in the commentary! Him and the director. It’s great! Jason truly does an excellent job (and the director says this almost throughout the commentary, its so funny!)

I’ve had my movie now for, I think, 2 weeks or so. (Can’t believe I’ve had it that long!) Already I’ve seen it prolly more times than is in the ‘sane’ zone, lol! In the movie, Jason swears and while as I don’t think swearing is the “cool thing to do” (I mean, I swear sometimes, we all do) But when Jason swears… OMG! There’s one scene… I rewind it more times than I should just to listen to him swear!

Haha! Yeah. I was surprised the first time seeing that movie and hearing him swear I was like . But then tho, it was hott, so it was okay. On Roswell, the only things you’d hear him say were ‘damn’ ‘hell’.. tame words like that. Not in this movie!

**But it’s not like he’s saying the F word in every sentence! He doesn’t swear al lot, just when he does… lol. (I don’t want the ppl who haven’t seen it to think that he swears like a trooper in this movie! )

I ORDERED "RITES OF PASSAGE" FROM AMAZON.COM ON SUNDAY!!! Because Ashley (Liz_Evans) kept on talking about it all the time and I really wanna see what she has been raving about lolz. I know it is gonna be great because Jason is in it!!! I have seen tons of pictures from it and Jason is so HOT in the film!!! I am really excited!!! But since I paid by money order it says it won't be delivered to me til February 3rd!!! I hope it comes before then!!! Yes this is a movie if you really want to get a glimpse of his body. Girls he does come out shirtless that is all i am going to say. The storyline is great the actors are great and best of all JASON IS IN IT!!!!! woohooo what more do we need even though he is playing a gay character you dont even think about that. You think more of what is happening to the characters and the drama behind it.

I highly recommend this movie!!!
