Also known as Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving is the day when all the best sales are available for only a few short hours. I can't wait for this day to arrive! My tennis shoes and wallet are ready!

Hi guys! The day after Thanksgiving is the best day! Here's what happened to me today:

Well, I went to bed last night at midnight and woke up at 3 a.m., showered, and rushed to K-mart (since they always run out of everything in the first 10 minutes that the store is open, which they did). I was the first one there and then 3 people arrived a few minutes later. By 5 a.m., there was a line about a mile long! But I made it into the store first and was able to pick up a microwave for $20, a buffet serving set for $14.99, 2 - 12 pack sodas for $4, and 2 pairs of boxers for $7.

After that, I rushed to meet my mom and sister at Target. I was able to pick up Family Guy for $17.77, a candle jar for $4.88, a Homer sleepwear set for $15, and a quesadilla maker for $18.

Then, we flew past Best Buy because they had nothing that great on sale and went to Circuit City where I picked up a Platinum GameCube, which came with an extra controller, for $100.

After a breakfast treat from Burger King, we went to Office Depot and picked up a huge computer desk for my sister for $130 and went to JCPenneys, where my mom was able to pick up a ton of towels and stuff for the house for like $60.

After dropping all our goodies off at home, we went right back out to our local outlet mall, where I picked up some great home stuff at Brandsmart. I got a coffee maker, knife set, utensils set, and bath set all for $30. Sure we had to wait like 20 minutes before we could get in but it was worth it!

Then I went to Walmart and bought a toaster oven for $10 and an iron for $4.

I had an awesome day of great sales. I think I'm done now. grin.gif

Yay! Sounds great!

I didn't get any sleep and woke my Mum up at 4am -- we rushed to Fred Meyer, which opened at 5am, where I picked up a pin-up girl 50s style calendar for $7, the new Harry Potter DVD for $15.99 with a coupon, Home Alone on DVD for $10.99 and and old classic xmas movie Mum wanted for $9.99.

Then on to OfficeMax, where we planned to line up for the Free After Rebate items but it was just TOO cold! lol.gif We got there at 5:30am and were about 6th in line but we wussed out at about 6am (didn't open til 7am!) and decided to hit Mervyn's instead. There, we picked up 2 of the free Santa ornaments and some Hanes singlets for the little sister. I really wanted a Happy Bunny set of pajamas but they were all out of my size.

Next, we went to Target because it was right next door. I think we did our biggest lot of shopping there! We picked up: A Few Good Men DVD for $7.50 (been searching for that for AGES!), Shrek 2 DVD for $15.99, Frank Sinatra xmas music for me for $11.98, The Rat Pack xmas music for Mum for $12.99, Ker-Plunk board game for $9.99, a Lite-Bright toy for the little sister for xmas for $20.99, 2 huge jar candles for $4.88 ea (1 cranberry, 1 pumpkin spice!) and some soda.

Next was Circuit City, where we were pretty disappointed in what was on sale there. The cheap DVDs had been picked clean, though we did pick up Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil for $6.99.

We picked up a set of hat & gloves for the little one at Old Navy, which weren't that cheap $14 for the set but were really cute and something we'd been searchign for for a long time.

Next was Staples where we missed out on the Buy Ink Cartridge Set, Get Free Starbucks Coffee deal. We also missed out on the lighted Reindeer at Walgreen's for $9.99 -- sold out by 10am.

We didn't see anything good at JC Penney (though we bitched out a woman trying to reserve a parking spot) as all of the xmas pajamas weren't what we were looking for.

At Border's I used a coupon to get Bridget Jones' Diary on DVD for $9.99 (collector's edition!) and I also picked up a really cool organiser for next year for $20.

Costco was a good stop too -- we got Planet Sleep Pajamas for $13.99 (retail $45) and probably my fave item for the day: Buffy Season 2 DVDs for $27.99! We also got some other stuff at the usual good Costco prices but in terms of BF sales, weren't anything special.

Long's was our last stop and we used a coupon to Buy 1 Maybelline mascara and get a Free Eyeshadow.

Phew! We were shopping for about 9 hours in all and I went straight to bed when I got home! grin.gif
vc318
Wow strawberry! You got some good stuff! Yeah, that day was just about crazy anywhere you went. Malls were packed up by 8 a.m. and parking spaces were filled galore! People were even making their own parking spaces out on the grass. But that day was just awesome!
strawberrylicious
Agreed! I loved it grin.gif I'll probably never get to do it again so I'm glad I got out there and made the most of it!
vc318
This year I was way worse than last year! I'm just happy I found so many affordable stuff for the home on sale!
vc318
Going to re-open this since the big day is right around the corner!

I'm hoping to find a nice, big screen t.v. for our living room area and if they have anything else awesome, I hope to grab that too! grin.gif Just 18 days to go!
Blessed child
Pity that we dont have thanksgiving day! I could use a new television as well. grin.gif
vc318
Aw, you don't? Where do you live? (I forgot, sorry). smile.gif
Blessed child
That's alright smile.gif I live in the Netherlands(Europe)! So no thanksgiving day here! :'(
vc318
So, there's never a super sale day? Whoa. I've gotta move there - I might save my money more. lol.gif
Blessed child
No not really no Supersale day here! sad.gif Haha indeed great way to safe money! But when you need to buy something it's gonna cost you alot!! sad.gif

I wanna celebrate Thanksgiving day sometime! Can I come over next year? I bring the Turkey! essen.gif
vc318
Sure! My cooking sucks anyway! lol.gif

Well, this year, the After-Thanksgiving Sale wasn't so generous to me. Here's how things went:

My sister and I went at midnight to this computer store and was able to get 2-100 packs of blank DVD's at $20 a pack, 3-30 packs of blank music CD's for $9, a DVD player for $15, and a wireless router and USB adapter for $2.99 each. That wasn't bad. After that we went to Best Buy where we waisted 4 hours in line for this laptop that I didn't even end up getting because it sold out. That ticked me off! Next, we joined up with mom and went to Walmart in the hopes that I could get another laptop there but that was impossible since the line just to get them was almost 3 miles down and they were in limited supply. Finally I went to Circuit City in my last hopes to score a laptop but after wasting nearly 2 hours, they also ran out. I was so mad. After that, I was able to get a 5.0 megapixel camera at Target for $90 and a cool shower head and sandwich maker for like $6 each. And that was it. I usually do better than this but the stores just didn't have that great of a sale this year. Well, I can only hope next year is better.

vc318
Oh, this year's Day After Thanksgiving sale was pretty awesome! First, I saw this laptop at Circuit City for $99 that I really wanted so I begged hubby to got there at 9 p.m. to wait for it to launch at 5 a.m. Through grinding teeth, he agreed and we waited with 20 other people! eek.gif Thankfully, we were able to get one. grin.gif Next., after dropping hubby at work I went to JcPenney's with my mom and my sisters and I picked up a bunch of cute South Pole outfits for $110. It's seems alot but they're a really nice collection. Next, we went home to relax and went to this outlet mall where I scored a bunch of cool CD's and movies (a blender too) at Brandsmart and a trench coat, a pair of jeans, a candle, and some DS games all for $100. Today was so awesome! It definitely made up for the crappy sale I went through last year! lol.gif
Blessed child
Oohhhh Congrats sweetie!!! Especialy a laptop for $99 is a nice prize. lol.gif
vc318
Foe real. I may go out for my goodies today! lol.gif
LisaKay
vc318, sounds like you did great!

I didn't really buy or find anything. sad.gif
vc318
Hopefully more good sales are coming. grin.gif
vc318
Going to close this now. See you next year! wave.gif
vc318
Wow, when I look through the thread and just see how much of a reckless shopper I was, it's no surprise why I'm so broke now. sad.gif Anyway, I hope you guys have fun with the "After Thanksgiving" sales that'll be happening soon. If you have any specials to post here for that day, please feel free.
vc318
The sales this year were pretty lame but I was able to pick up a printer for my dad for $40, a toy for my nephew for $18 and some batteries for $5. That's all.
Blessed child
Aw, It's at least something, I'm coming over next year to pick up a new one! tongue.gif
vc318
What are you gonna pick up, sweetie? wink.gif
Blessed child
Woops haha sorry I forgot to add that, I think I was talking about a laptop as I need one badly!!
vc318
Ah, well I hope you were able to find one. smile.gif Well, I'm going to close this thread since the After Turkey Day Deals are done. See you next year!
vc318

vc318
Looked at some other sites, which currently have the Day After Thanksgiving Ads out already and some stores look to be promising. nod.gif
vc318
At the Day After Thanksgiving sale, I bought 2 $3 jackets for my daughter, a pair of $9 jeans which came with a free shirt, 2 packs of batteries for $5, a pack blank DVDs for $15, a vacuum cleaner for $25, a DVD player for $20 and a 1 TB external hard rive for $60. In all, I got everything I wanted and didn't go overboard. glow.gif
