Oh great, I myself hit the search botton to find a Shenny thread and found nothing.
As I wrote on Kate's thread I wasn't into Jenny at first so it was absolutely impossible for me to consider Shane and jenny ever getting together but as i watch TLW again I started appreciating Jenny a lot more and saw the complexity of that character. Shane and Jenny both are somehow the wildcards on the show, they both have serious emotional issues to deal with and Shane is protective of Jenny in many ways. I think H brings up many good points when talking about the Shenny thing and when I read things she wrote lots of it made sense to me and now I totally see Shenny as a relationship that could happen even if it were not to be in a long term relationship together. They just have that ''something'' between them that could be very interesting to see develop in time.
I just hope people won't be weirded out by this thread, we don't know if Sheeny's gonna happen or not, it's just what some of us think could or should happen.

From the get go, Shane seemed to dig Jenny, and Jenny wamred to Shane I think. Maybe because Shane had this reputation, but she didn't try it on with Jenny. Maybe Jenny respected that??

Zesty, H make great points. Well that picture I see lover, because of the picture it just looks hot. I remember, it was trippinjenny who got me to like Shane/Jenny back when the first season was still airing.

In season 1, when Jenny went to talk to Marina at the planet, she was looking all tense and stuff, when Marina was attending to Alice & Shane. And Alice kinda asked Jenny what she was doing there but Jenny just ignored her, told Marina that she needed to talk. Then she acknowledged Shane and there was this look and nod between the 2 of them.
There's definately tension sooommeeewhere!

I so noticed that! I loved it too, I kept going back to see what I saw was right.

Alice: Hey Jenny

Shane: How's it going Jenny

Jenny: (nods) Shane.

Well, I don't want to rock your boat Astridr, ~shane~, but I don't think their relationship started with any tensions like that.

I think they started out strictly as casual friends, saying hey, minding their own. In S2 is when they become stronger friends, and although in some places (like the three of them dancing) there seems to be something sexual about how they are, I think it is all innocent between them . I don't think there is any 'longing' or 'lusting' going on between them. I think they become very strong friends who end up being very tactile and playful, without there nessecarily being any sexual connotations.

There are several moments between Shane and Jenny during first season that I took note of. (I actually started writing Shenny fic midway through the first season! Can't find any of it now, though, since I've had multiple problems with my pc since then and it's long been lost in the shuffle ).

1.) Jenny accidentally stumbles upon Shane and her girlie using Bette and Tina's pool and then stops to watch.

2.) Jenny and Tim are introduced to Shane and the gang and when Jenny and Shane are introduced, Shane gives Jenny this thoughtful, almost assessing look.

3.) During the same party at Tina and Bette's, when Jenny glances over and sees Shane kissing tattoo!girl, Shane glances over, sees her watching, and winks. Tension? Um, yeah, I'd say there was some... just a wee bit... O.o

4.) When Alice invites Jenny to join the gang at their table at the Planet, as Jenny's talking about her writing, we see Shane listening and smiling warmly (unlike some of the others in the group, who look bored and/or completely uninterested).

5.) During the Dinah Shore weekend, Shane takes care of Jenny and watches out for her. She checks on her at the party to make sure she's all right and smiles when she sees that Jenny's met someone. She also hooks her up with a mini-bottle of something ( ) and then leaves a bottle of water in bed beside Jenny when she's obviously had one too many little mini-bottles of something.

So ... I may have noticed a few things. I'm not obsessed, really! I'm just... focused! Yes.

By the by, I've noticed a lot of people have some really gorgeous sigs. I was wondering if someone could make me one? Preferrably with lots of Shane? You'd get lots of hot Shenny-style ear nibblings in return...! hehe

H has got a point. Sorry, I don't want to end up like Danish or TiBette with this Shenny thing Damn opening credits...

I have a long history of loving unconventional relationships. The point is, though, to understand the fact that it probably won't ever happen - to kinda make peace with it before you even get started. Once you get past that, there's nothing but fun left...

And, anyway, that's what fic is for, after all...! If we only ever rooted for the ships on the show, fandom would be so damn boring...

I think this is a crucial thing. She went looking for Jenny in the white party, that to me is obvious. But was she 'looking for her', or was she 'looking out for her'?? I personally think she was looking for her, because when she saw that Jenny was with Robin, she seemed kinda bummed.

Also, although I seem to be bashing all the things people are serving up, I did think Shane was v. cute when she put that bottle of water next to Jenny when she went out to call Cherie

And I might just be looking into things tooooooooo much now, but when Shane wanted Tina to tell Jenny her story to give her 'hope', it was like she needed to hear it too you know? and it seems like, I know don't, she needed to hear it, and so did Jenny. There is hope out there, but maybe, just maybe, the hope was in the room that night...

To me, Shane seemed content that Jenny wasn't feeling out of place and was finding people to talk to and was getting herself out there...

I think by everything that happened in the first season. ( I have yet to see the Dinah Shore ep.) But I think that those who just see Shane/Jenny as friends will not make those Shane/Jenny scenes a big deal, and those who want to see something between Shenny took those 'hints' from first season and the opening credits into perspective, hoping that the something will happen. From what I've watched so far, I could see something happening between the two of them, they seem to be on the same level, one is just catergorized as weird, annoying, confused and the other a stud, hot, cool, etc.

I don't know the deal on the opening credits for season two, if that were Shane and Carmen or Shane and Dana, I'm sure more new theories would of been started just like this Shane/Jenny topic.

yes, I agree!! but I do want something happen! I just don't know that it will, and there is nothing concrete from S1 that shows us it will, that's all I'm saying..S2 though, hints to something more, I hope

I don't think there would be anything like written in stone that something would happen with Shane/Jenny, with the whole Jenny being 'confused' and Shane with not doing the relationships, etc. But maybe, if that's what the writers, creators want, is something to happen between the two of them then they'll give us more hints that something will happen, besides the opening credits.

at first when i saw shenny, i thought it was kind of wierd but now i like jenny's character and shane and jenny does seem really cute, "i'd love to see the sexual dynamic between the two" lol...

Is it possible that Jenny will pursue Shane because she's like the ultimate hookup? I mean, you have to admit Jenny does weird things, so maybe she's like well, as a right of passage I need to hook up with Shane.

It could happen to Shane cause she might actually fall for Jenny without realizing it herself. We know that Shane is very flirtatious by nature, but i wonder if Shane was badly hurt several times in her past relations? If not, why is she so afraid of commitment.

I agree here. I think they'd make a cute and interesting couple since both are equally as confused. I see Shane being the protective one in this relation while Jenny being the passive... cause Jenny has smaller physique

But its possible to read that Shane has restraint too, when feelings are involved. Maybe she cares for Jenny enough to not just want to have a once off fling with her.
I think all of the girls noticed Jenny when she first appeared in season 1.. Shane prolly kept her distance because Jenny was attached, Dana was interested and Marina was on the hunt, it would not be Shane's style to jump on the band wagon. But it is characteristic of Shane to be sweet to the people she cares about, so even if there were any sexual tension, Shane won't just act on it.
Maybe she recognises the potential for the 2 of them to connect on a deeper level and not just have a fling so she's just gonna keep everything at a friends level, without blurred lines?
