Images in a signature line should not exceed 100x500 pixels in total. This equates to no more than five 100x100 pictures (the same size as the avatars) side by side.
Where text is also used in a signature, this should not consist of long lists. No more than 2 lines of small-font text under a banner of 100pix height should be used. If no banner is used, the height of the text (plus spaces) should not exceed the equivalent of a 100 pixel high banner.

Why don't you go to
this thread.
You can request a banner over there. So all you have to do is post some pictures.
Good luck, and if you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

That banner doesn't look that big, but the rules are that it must be no higher than 60 pixels, and parts of this one are rather tall.
As for the PM, it is not possible to send a PM without showing your username. Click Reply and you can send a message back to the sender (it wasn't me though)

Still a bit on the tall side, but personally I don't think it's a problem

Yes yours is not the biggest signature around on MB, and everyone who exceeds the 480 x 60 size gets a PM, but I think we need to be a bit relaxed about users whose banners are not grossly oversized, like yours.

Frankly I disagree, I can see letting the longer banner go. It's 100 pixels high which is still 40 pix larger than allowed. However, the Nikita is over twice the proper size. Someone will see that and make their whole longer banner 126 pix high and frankly that is horrible. It's hard on dial ups and it's distracting. AND yes! There are people with bigger banners and IMO it's getting to be a real distracting.

The height ways limit is 80 pixels so it's only 20 beyond the limit. I'm trying to be pragmatic here. 20 pixels is not outrageously oversized. I have seen far bigger sigs.

Examples of banners sizes are:
480x60
Banner height limit is 60 pix. The Nikita pic in her banner is 100 by 126 pix, the 126 is the height, that makes it over twice the height allowed. The longer pic in her banner is 362 by 90 { sorry earlier I had put 100}. Still over the height limit but I thought we were letting anything under 100 slide. By itself I don't think the taller banner would be a problem
BUT someone is going to look at that and say "she has a banner that's 126 high so I'm going to make mine 130" and do the whole 480 length and that is going to be a monster of a banner. I'm saying people are making their banners bigger and bigger as they see other peoples getting bigger. The problem grows.

Well, you are right, but there is one problem here ....is my banner too big ..I would say that if the banners have to be so narrow that you almost can't see it...then why have banners at all, But I also understand the problem from my own forum...I can remove my blinkie, but I have changed my banner so many times now that it has shrunk into nothing!
Just my opinion...don't make a lot of sense eh? Sorry I am ill!

I would think that your's is ok - because you also don't have tons of text added to it... the signature itself is small [space-wise] because there aren't alot of 'extras' with it...
It really becomes a problem when the banners are too tall AND there's tons of text!
It's really hard for dial-up users and for those who are just 'skimming' to see what people have posted....

Everyone is supposed to stick to a max of 480 x 60 pixels. I know it's a pain when you get told you've exceeded the max but it really is important that we don't have oversized banners

Hey sweetheart...why should I get mad at you??? I think your banner is nice...I am not in any position of saying "yes" or "no", I am absolutely positively not mad at you! I know what it is like not being able to fix my banner by myself...if I have said something which could be misunderstood it was for the Mods ...but I am not mad at them either. As I recall one of the Mods told you that your banner was okay after you moved the black and white image down along side the other...

Even if you haven't made your own banner it's still easy to resize it. Just open up a graphics/painting program and you can resize it there.

Well I am assuming it's saved on your own computer. When you've resized it, save it on your computer. Then upload it onto one of the many image hosting services and you can then add it to your MB Profile

Poor you...when people say things like that to me it is like nonsense..I simply don't understand.. but you could try and get help from a friend og mine in Denmark if you like...just go into my fanclub...it is in my www ...press "her" and NOT "enter", send your banner to "kontakt os" and I will see to that it gets the way they want it to be...just a suggestion! You can also send it directly to me keanabisgaard@galnet.dk and I will send it to my friend and back to you again!

Hmmm, that I don't understand, do you not have the banner in your picturefile? If so you can send it to me from there, if you press the right site of the mouse...it should say amongst other things ..."E-mail to a friend"....or something like that...sorry I am a little fool when it comes to explaine computerstuff, I just learn as I go along...

But I am still here if you find a way to mail it to me! I have two friends here in Denmark who can make your banner smaller and maybe a little more balanced! I write you a pm okay?

Hello there
make a banner using any images you want to. the maximum size is 480x60 pixels. it has to be a jpeg image so the file must be saved as .jpg on your computer. Then use an image host site to upload it. there are loads of such sites: www.uploadit.org, www.villagephotos.com, www.photobucket.com are just three of many.
If you click on profile you will find a field for a signature. Put the URL of your uploaded banner in there with image tags on it. For example:
[img]http://www.imagehostsite/mybanner.jpg[*/img]
(without the *) and update changes.
You should then see the banner on any post you make on this board.
If you're still stuck feel free to ask

Just in case nobody reads the first post here are the updated guidelines:
Images in a signature line should not exceed 100x500 pixels in total. This equates to no more than five 100x100 pictures (the same size as the avatars) side by side.
Where text is also used in a signature, this should not consist of long lists. No more than 2 lines of small-font text under a banner of 100pix height should be used. If no banner is used, the height of the text (plus spaces) should not exceed the equivalent of a 100 pixel high banner.
