[mods' note: changed the title to allow discussion of all season's here]
In my opinion Season 1 stomped all over season 2. Season 1 had everything right, the show was unique and to the point. Everything made perfect sense and i feel that if season 2 was more like season 1 the show would have continued. I started watching the show like 2 months ago and i just finished it last night. I bought season 1 and thought it was like the best show ever, then right after, i ran out and bought season 2 in hopes that it would be anywhere near as good as season 1. To my surprise i found myself questiong just aboyut everything they did in season 2. Season 2 i think KILLED the show. Introducing the stupid enomilees(i'm not sure thats spelled right) was horrible. It was chaos, every single episode in season 2 they would have a new story line that ruined the reputation that seaon 1 had previously built up. I think the only parts i liked in season 2 was that they introduced Alec, and we got to see more of Max/Logan. The rest of the new characters in season 2 were horrible. Liedecker in season 1 was a WAY better bad guy than White. However, the guy who played White did an excellent job in the role. I just feel they shouldn't of introduced him into the series. Another thing i liked in season 2 was that Max did some SEXY things! I loved it when she flashed Normal and that little kid! That was awesome! Also, the scene when Logan was checking Max's back for the imprints, that was HOT! Anyways, Season 2 i hate you!
What do you guys think?

I dont agree.
Although I **loved** series 1 soo much, i rele enjoyed series two and i think it stood for more. I think she looked *alot* sexier in sereis 2. And I liked the end, the only thinkg that I didnt like about series 2 was how they didnt rele explain everything...

I don't know... I liked season 2. First, it had Alec. That by itself makes it a great season. Of course, season 1 had Zack, but Alec had more screen time. And he was, for the most time, more easy going than Zack. Before you'll say that it's just because he looked hot (Which he did. What can I say? Jensen is...

), my favorite Alec's scene is when he gave Max the speech in 'The Berrisford Agenda'. To me, that was the real Alec.
The whole cult storyline was interesting. And when this storyline cross pathes with Max as the savior storyline, the show had more depth. My opinion.
All in all, I think the two seasons where completely different. One was the search after Max's family. The other was freeing them, and makes us wonder about the cost of freedom. They were out of Manticore, but what was the price?
If I'm thinking about that, season 1 was all about Max. Season 2 was about Manticore, or better yet, Manticore after the fall. I think that the ideas which stood behind season two's storylines were far more interesting than season's one ideas. If I have to choose, I choose season two.

It's not that i didn't like season 2, it's just that i questioned many of the things they did. I still loved watching every episode even though i didn't feel that they lived up to their potential in making themes and plots. Mainly i just hated how they introduced the enomilees, i feel it was kind of immature and therefore probably turned off most of the viewers. What i also didn't like was that they never stopped the virus that was implanted in Max, however i don't frown upon it because they probably had plans for it in season 3. It was just kind of an upset.
Now i heard all your oppinions but yet no one mentioned the enomilees, what do you guys think of them.

What I find weird about the enomilees is the fact that Manticore kept them alive.
Edited to add a clarification: When I'm talking about enomilees I'm not talking about the designate soldiers who weren't part of the X series (the X-5, X-6, X-7 etc.) but about the prototypes who didn't go so well. The ones the kids were scared from...

I agree - every other week a new one popped up, seemingly out of nowhere. I sat in disbelief as a goo-spitting gossamer came out of hiding and appeared mid-season only to become some one's pet. The cult was
almost too silly for me as well.

It seemed to me they weren't trying very hard, either. Why didn't they pursue the guy who saved Alec? What... can't leave Seattle?
I thought season 2 did have a better story though - minus the rough edges mentioned above - and how Max took on more and more responsibility. Toward the end it really rocked hard. I'll have to give the two very different seasons equal points.

Supposed to be a recurring comet or asteroid that either crashes or gives off viral debris as it passes by, for which Max has the only engineered antigen within her. It's in the dvd commentaries somewhere.

OMG... I totally forgot about the spitting gossamer. I hated that thing, when i saw that i nearly almost died. I think that was the breaking point... The point at which i knew why the series had ended. It was things like that that ruined all the chances of having a season 3. I think that event was sooooooooo childish that it killed off most of the older viewers (the people over 5 years old). Hmm, was that the episode when Max and Logan had like 12 hours together to do whatever they wished...? I don't remember, but for some reason it seems like it is that is the event.

Okay, I went through the transcript of 'Pollo Loco':
QUOTE
(Max sits down to wait and flashes back to Manticore. Several kids are gathered around Ben in the dormitory.)
MAX: Tell us the story, Ben.
BEN: Only the best soldiers get to go to the Good Place. The ones who fail...you know what happens to them?
MAX: They disappear.
BEN: To the Bad Place. Where they open you up and drink your blood until you're almost dead. Then they leave you there for the Nomlies.
(Flashback of the children marching down a hall behind Lydecker. They pass a reinforced door with a small barred opening; the door has X-2/0045D engraved on it. Suddenly a face appears at the opening and the man it belongs to cackles. The children pull back against the wall in fear.)
LYDECKER: Get moving, soldiers. No one told you to stop.
(Back in the dormitory)
BEN: They crawl up from the basement through special tunnels. And when you're not looking...BAM! They break through the wall and drag you away.
ZACK: Well, what do the Nomlies do with you?
BEN: They keep you as prisoner of war and eat you up, little by little, forever.
So, just the be clear, we are talking about the same 'creatures', right? The ones in the basement.
The scene clearly shows, in my opinion, that the kids, good soldiers or not, scared from them.
Your theory sounds good, but I just don't get what's the point in trying stuff on 'defects', so to speak. Even if they'll react to something in one way or another, it's not like there's anyone with the exact DNA anymore. They were the prototypes. The transgenics looked, and probablly were (DNA wise), different...

Well season2 didnt really ruin all chances for a season3, the ratings were still good(better than all the new shows Fox had lately) and they were picked up for a Season3, but than Fox went back and decided to cancel it for a show we know as Firefly.
But ya Season1 was GREAT and it made it hard to be surpassed. But from the commentaries from Season2, Season3 sounded like it would be going back to the basics somewhat.

when trades went out, Fox had picked up DA for a 3rd season, but than they decided to also pick up Firefly which cost a lot to produce, so they decided to go back and yank DA and put Firefly in DAs timeslot.
Im still wondeirng why they moved DA from its orignal timeslot in Season1 to their death night(fridays)

Zack died? Where was I?

Zack finally had a peaceful life. One that he deserved. Though I'm not sure that if he had any saying in that, that's the way he would have chose.
Logan? I cared less and less about him...

I meant in the season 1 finale when he shot himself in the head that was meant to have been Logan he would have died a heroic death sacrificing himself to save Max and Jensen would have been bought on as the male lead and Zacks involvement would'nt have changed much, you know how Zack is he would'nt have stayed in seatle.

My apology to Fox.
You know, I saw Michael on NCIS, and his character is pretty good. Maybe that's because there's NO question who's the star there - Mark Harmon (in my opinion). I don't get it. It was SO clear that bringing Jensen added so much to the show. Why fight it? I mean, if Michael threatened to take Jessica with him, I say: Go ahead!. I can't see the threat being put into action. Jessica wasn't such a big star (I think) after just one season. Plus, I don't see any young actor saying 'Goodbye' to James Cameron. I mean, it's James Cameron. And if they did go? Even better. The way I see it, if season two was about Alec as the main character, Dark Angel might have still be with us.

Well season 2 did have some episodes I liked all of them that had lots of Alec-y goodness in them like say The Berrisford Agenda for two main reasons 1st reason it was a Alec-centric episode and 2nd hardly any Logan and the scenes he was in he was a quite likeable. I agree with you about Boo that was the episode I really started to dislike Max actually I hated her in that episode the whole episode should never have been thought up let alone filmed. If they would of made a season 3 and they showed less of Alec and more of Logan it would have been an awesome season. I liked Alec, i really did, however if he and Max would of hooked up it would have been horrible. I'd rather see Max and Zach together then Max and Alec. Over all though Max and Logan were the best. They would of also had to get rid of all the enomilees, saying that they all scattered to be free or something. Make the show more realistic and have like only the "X" series transgenics appear in episodes. That's what i would of liked to see.
