Familiar to The WB audience as Jason Teague, Lana Lang's (Kristin Kreuk) love interest on "Smallville," Ackles will next be seen in "Supernatural" as Dean Winchester, the rugged bad boy who teams up with his younger brother to find their missing father and battle evil supernatural forces.

Ackles was also seen on "Dawson's Creek" in a recurring role and on "Dark Angel" as a series regular. His additional work in television includes co-starring in the miniseries "Blonde," opposite Poppy Montgomery and Patrick Dempsey. Ackles will make his big screen debut later this year in Sony Pictures' "Devour," opposite Dominique Swain and Shannon Sossymon. The film was directed by David Winkler.

In 1997, he began his acting career with much critical acclaim when he joined the cast of "Days of Our Lives." In addition to three Daytime Emmy Award nominations (1998, 1999 and 2000), he won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer in 1998.

Ackles was born in Dallas and raised in Richardson, Texas. He now resides in Los Angeles.

Still trying to remember Jensen from DC. By season 6 I was losing interest with DC so I didn't watch it as much. Anyone have any good screen caps from back then they could post?

One of the few things I remember about that season was shipping his character & Jen.

I loved him on Dark Angel Watched Smallville mostly because of him. I wish Still Life could've at least aired, the clips I saw looked good.

Jensen played C.J. during the 6th season of Dawson's Creek. C.J. works in a help line center. When he meets Jen, he recognizes her from the sound of her voice he'd heard previously on the radio. Then starts an uncertain relationship between the two. It will take time for C.J. to realize things about himself and allow love to enter his life again.

I finally saw the DC episodes he was in! I REMEMBER him now! He is sooo HOT!

As for rumours, they abound in Hollywood. I can't tell you how many times I had heard Jason Behr was up for this or that and it turned out to be just a rumour. Drives you crazy! Hopefully as time goes by we will get a good source with information close to the Supernatural production. Bummed it's filmed in Canada. I used to drive to LA to watch Roswell being filmed. Met so many great people and made tons of contacts!

I was reading (okay, more like 'going over to find Supernatural' ) the New Yorker's critics, and had to bring this part:

Okay so I have been watching the past couple of episodes of the show and I have to say that Jensen's portrayal of Dean is what is keeping me coming back for more. He is just and so funny! Loved him this past week when he was making the comment about the shorts.

I am so glad he is getting the chance to star on a show like this, I really enjoyed him when he played C.J. on Dawson's Creek.

I think Jensen is the best thing about the show so far. I do like the edge horror stuff but it needs more action.

I love the borthers, and I love Jared but I gotta say my fave in this series is him

I posted this question on Jensen's board, and it only made sense to post it here as well. So...

I know we're only six episodes into the series, but I thought of something and I'd really like to hear what you guys think.

Dean is like the ultimate ladies' man. But thinking about his past, and present, something just feels off. As kids, it seems as if the brothers moved around a lot. And while at some point it was no longer true for Sam, it was still true for Dean. Did he even have the time to meet some one? Did he have the time to start a relationship(s)? Did he have his 'Jess', or was he too afraid to get attached?

It's funny reading their bios. Jensen grew up in the same town as I did in Texas, but he went to one of my highschool's rivals. Being that I am 10 years older than him he was only 7 when I was graduating HS.
