As good-looking as Jensen is, I really think it's Alec's personality that I love. It's just such a compelling, multi-faceted character. REALLY nice to look at to be sure, but he'd be just another X5 without that charm, wit, depth, and Jensen's strong performance.

I don't think allot of people see that they just see the “cocky smart-ass “they don’t see that it’s all just a façade that he’s not “always alright” it’s what I love about him apart from the very nice wrapping he comes in.

I have to add a picture that I partially like from Jensenackles.org its one of my favorite scenes for The Berrisford Agenda.


Don't you just love the look in his eyes and the way he tells Max that there leaving, it's an order, and I love it.

i think i liked the scenes between alec & joshua the best. with joshua he could let his guard down & did not have to be a cocky ass.

Joshua really was able to see the real Alec see how much he was troubled and hurting something Max didn't want to see, like this scene in TBA Joshua describes Alec perfectly.

This is where we saw the real Alec, and as much as I love the everyday-Alec, and I do, the Alec that we saw on that episode was just... every word that I'll choose won't do him enough justice.

I have a question. I always saw Alec, and thought of him, as Manticore 'Golden Boy'. You know, their no. 1 soldier. So I've decided to check it out, and what better place than 'The Berrisford Agenda'. Only it looks like Alec was new to all of this. He had four away missions before Berrisford, and none of them long-term. I'd guess the missions they were refering to were an assassination missions, but... Anyway, Alec did show great leadership characteristics, as was seen when he was dealing with the kids in 'Bag 'Em'. So... What do you say, 'Golden boy' or just another loyal soldier?

I don't think he was the Manticore "Golden Boy" or a loyal soldier what with the scams he was pulling in Designate this, and in the Eyes Only book X5 494 and 798 don't go to Quantico because of the need of further "disciplinary training" and Alec was the twin of a an 09er who not only escaped from Manticore but went insane.



He showed great leadership qualities in "Freak Nation" as well.

I haven't thought about it like that... Maybe because he was more or less the only Manticore soldier that we really got to know.
Then there's what Logan said about Alec being a 'true-blue soldier back then'. And the fact that the Alec that we knew wasn't the Alec of 'The Berrisford Agenda'. Rachel was dying for two years. And prior to that Alec didn't get to spend much time on the outside (four short missions...). So is it possible that it was only after the Berrisford mission that Alec learnt how the world works? That prior to that he was a 'true-blue soldier'?

I don't know if being the twin brother of one of the 09ers had an affect on it though. Manticore had no problem with Brin, as we saw on 'Hit A Sista Back'.

This really makes me wish we had seen more of Manticore, and the missions that the X5's went on.

I asked this question on Dark Angel Board, and thought I might ask it here as well.

There's a scene in 'La Femme Nikita' where Nikita and Madeline talk about whether Michael can ever love again, after he had lost Simone. Do you think Alec would have been able to love again after he had lost Rachel? Do you think that 'The Berrisford Agenda' was the closure that he needed? That once he cried for her, asked for her forgiveness and said he goodbye, he was ready to moe on?

Yes I believe he could love again, but not a non transgenic not after Rachel.

I can't quite picture him with another transgenic, which is probably why I always ended up shipping him with Liz from 'Roswell'. Maybe it's because we didn't actually see a lot of transgenics...

Well I ship him with Max, but I would like to see him with Jondy I always pictured her as a Eliza Dushku and I think her and Jensen would have rocked the onscreen chemistry.

Haven't thought about that... I can't decide. I know that I don't like to see him with Max, though I once thought they'll make a good couple, but then came to realization that he was too good for her.
On the other hand, they did have some great scenes together that didn't involve them going at each other throats (not that those scene weren't good ). The interaction between them in 'Hello, Goodbye', after Max got him out of the police station was amazing. She really did open to him on some level, something I don't believe she had ever done before.

So I'm still torn between shipping him with another transgenic and shipping him with humans :sigh:

It's exactly the same for me too! Somehow I also end up picturing Alec and Liz together even though the shows are completely different!

There are some great fanfictions that ship them together, and I especially love those in which Liz is an X5. So I guess that, on some level, I can see him with another transgenic... Maybe we just needed to see more of them, and not necessarily Max's 'sisters'. CeCe was great, so if we were getting season 3, or even a movie... Who knows

Back to your question about Alec meeting a younger version of him - remember when he found those kids in "Bag 'em"? ... he could probably be like that and being a smart mouth he'd generally be kind of a typical bossy/cheeky older brother. And he may well tease/taunt them like he did to the silent X7 who stood guard. But overall I'm sure he'd be very protective.

His younger clone will have different experiences/personalities - but I'd like to think they'll give back as good as they get I'm sure under the right setting, Alec meeting his clone could be hilarious - like troublesome brothers Francis and Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle! ... o I love a bit of comedy specially if it came from Alec!

I love the way you're thinking! When I asked this I was thinking of Max and her clone trying to kill her, but after reading your post, even if Alec's clone was trying to kill him I can actually see it as being hilarious scene... Well, to some extent, anyway.

or if Alec met his clone in bad circumstances it could be either explosive or emotional depending on what the clone's issue / agenda was. Ahh the possibilities are endless ...

I wish we could've glimpsed more of Alec's sensitive side, like the ending of "Dawg Day Afternoon" when they group hug to console Joshua ... something so tragic about it ...

Yeah, the final scene of 'Dawg Day Afternoon' was just... I also loved the scene in 'Hello, Goodbye' when Alec listened to Max talking about Ben, following the scene on the morning after. Oh, and the one he tells Joshua to send Annie away, and Joshua knows that he can't let her 'see' his face and asks Alec to let her thouch him instead... Alec's face when he takes Joshua's place...

I wanted more of 'The Berrisford Agenda'. Or maybe it was so powerful because we only had one chance to look 'into' Alec.

I rewatched The Berrisford Agenda yesterday, so I was in an Alec mood and thought I'd check out this thread.



Oh, nice picture. And I love that moment in the episode. Up until then, it was easy to get caught up in the facade of "easy-going Alec", taking all the comments and jokes as they came, so that moment when he barked at Max like that really made me sit up and remember that there was more to Alec than that persona he usually showed.



That was just so perfect. Alex was so clearly over his head with Rachel at first, having no idea how to deal with the way he was feeling. Their first kiss was beautiful (and bittersweet, knowing how things turn out).

Although, by the next time we see him kissing Rachel, it's clear that he is a fast learner.

Rachel was such a painful part of Alec. I wonder if he was ever really going to let her rest in peace.

not completely but I think he was slowly coming round to it and visiting her grave brought some closure. In later eps he was starting to change his attitude towards Max & Logan's relationship.
