This is an all new Alec or Logan poll, that we got the idea from mjl1297 to find out who you prefer This is not a shipper poll, leave the ships out of this. Now we have that out of the way onto the questions.

1-I choose Alec the reasons, the most obvious is that he is oh so very sexy, and now personality wise he is a very complex character who beneath that cocky smart aleck façade he has a big heart, and he's troubled by his past and, you know I just love him. There’s of course that smile smirk those eyes and his attitude.

Thanks for posting this IG. I can't understand why no one is getting onboard this thread as it is certainly getting the views. Are people that uncomfortable disclosing their age? I hope we will start getting a better response than we've seen so far.

*To me Logan is the program's stabilizing rudder. Putting it briefly, he gives it focus through his expository dialogue and lends the series a mature perspective. I must confess to a slight bias in the fact that I personally identify with the character. MW/Logan and I are about the same age, Logan's a bit of a computer hack with an abiding interest in gadgets and so am I. Heck, I even look like MW's Logan character. Same build, slightly darker hair. In fact, if you picture Logan with a thick moustache and wire rim spectacles-that's pretty much me. So how could I not like the guy?
I came down on the side of Logan but as I 've said in other posts, both Alec and Logan serve a particular purpose within the DA continuum. Each has his own niche to fill and the series would be the poorer without them. Alec is a psychologically complex character who definitely could have been mined for more stories in the vein of TBA had there been a third season.

Alright I'll admit it I'm one of those guys that looked at the post and moved on initially . I just don't wanna get sucked into another Logan vs. Alec thread that dissolves into a shipper thread. OK here goes. . .

Like mjl1297 Logan is sort of the stabilizing rudder of the show. He also gives a necessary persepective of how it was before the pulse. I think a lot more could have been done with Logan's character, we still know little about Eyes Only before Max arrived. He does become kind of a cliche, man on a mission, computer hack-works with gadgets type, which means he can hack into anything and everything including chinese spy satellites (i found that to be a stretch). I just like Logan better because he's more straight forward and not so much of a jerk IMO. Yes Alec has a big heart and he always (well almost always) comes through in a pinch. But his better than thou cocky attitude, everything is always OK with me persona, and the sneaky way he goes about business (swiping the baseball and splitting it 50-50 comes to mind) just doesn't click with me. I'm surprised the fact he was dating two girls at the same time doesn't knock him down a few notches for you IG . I guess his smile makes up for that, and the bod puts him over the top. . . OK i've said enough I won't anymore. Promise !

Why Alec? 'The Berrisford Agenda'. Don't get me wrong. I love the easy going Alec. I love his funny remarks. I love his quick comebacks. I love seeing him running all those schemes. I love his wit. I love him on a motorcycle. I love him shirtless. I love him with cloths on. I love the 'Alec' that they gave us on the beginning of season 2. But that wasn't Alec. The real Alec, to me, was the TBA Alec. And this Alec, this Alec knew about the world what the others didn't. This Alec forgot things that the others would never know. This Alec knew so much hurt, pain and sorrow like none of the others characters on the show knew. And he carried it alone. I love 'Alec', but I admire Alec. The real Alec. The one that call it like he saw it. Because life is too short. Because 'We're living on borrowed time'. And who knew it better than him. He's entire life were a borrowed time. Failure for him meant death.
I got carried away... Why Alec? 'The Berrisford Agenda'.

Logan started out being quite interesting. he was a good foil for Max and her ways. Then in S2 he started getting boring. And Alec is never boring, perhaps because he doesn't have to carry quite the same weight as Logan.

Suffice to say Alec is far cooler and Logan is a softcock.

Alec: the raw sexual energy between them would of been great if the show had come back. this could of been explored more deeply & oh the possibilities. maybe max & alec could of gone into "heat" at the same time.

For most of the reasons already stated, he's the more compelling character to me. So many contradictions, so much charm and wit with a heavy touch of darkness. And Jensen Ackles played him with such energy and talent.

Logan. I feel he's more established and experienced - meaning he can bring the most to any situation. Probably the age/maturity of the character has a lot to do with it. Alec is a great character, he'll get there.

Alec - Simply because the character is more fun, smiles more often and actually enjoys the company of others. Logon rarely is seen with anbody other than Max, hardly ever out of that apartment and I just find that a lot of the scenes with Logon are pretty dull.
We've seen Alec in love and just going for it and Logon prefers to just pretend nothings going on. Okay so you can argue that he had trouble coming to terms with the fact that he was in a wheelchair like discussed in 'Meow' but Alec also had his own worries when getting into a relationship but didn't let that hold him back. This is touched upon in 'Borrowed time' where Alec tells Asha that he wants her. There is a thing as being too carefull and that's Logon.

1. My favorite character is Logan. He has cool looking glasses (I don't wear any) and he's always messing with a computer like I am. But one of the main reasons I like his character is the fact that he is one guy trying to save the world or at least trying to make his country a better place again. His character has genuine compassion for everyone else and that I find very cool. Most other movies where one of the main characters have these qualities I'll enjoy.

Logen plays a great role in season1,but when Alec comes out,I think he's the one Max should live with and fight with.
Max and Alec are the same type,they can understand each other well and do all the things for all the transgenics in the future after the Freak Nation. And I think they always get some fun when they toghter which like school girl and boy---maybe an ordinary life Max wanted.
Max learnt and felt love from Logen,but that's not her chains of him.She'll grow up and can't escape from her X5 nature,so the one right for her is Alec not that old man.

Not for screwing, just a reason why I prefer Logan and Max. The way they were perceived through the series.

I think that's what Immortal Goddess meant, that the question wasn't about relationships, romantically or otherwise, with Max, but each character as an individual.

For what it's worth there are two reasons:
1. Alec wanted to protect her. He was not all that into her to begin with, IMHO, she was just convenient. But when all the city learned of the transgenics, began hating them, he thought it best to cut her loose. Watch Hello, Goodbye. After the events of TBA Alec realizes that they are dangerous to be around.
2. Total plot contrivance. The DVD commentaries on H,G state flat out that they stayed away from an Alec/Asha hook-up to build on a possible Logan/Max/Alec triangle.

I can actually see both reasons, though series-wise I like the first. I don't know as for a love triangle, but I can definitely see Alec wanting to protect Asha, even if, like you said tvwatcher, I don't think he was into her to begin with.

Me neither, I mean considering all the empty shot glasses on the table in that scene (during “Borrowed Time”) they both had consumed plenty of alcohol, so he probably wasn't thinking straight when he asked her to come to his apartment with him.

True that. Which was more of TPTB's stupid crap. The show needed some sex, but they could never pull it off for whatever reason. In S1, I think even Sketchy got laid; OC did. By S2 no one save Alec, and then it was with a hooker, or just implied. The only time Max ever did (S1) was due to heat. So since they chose to ignore that plot point in S2, TPTB replaced Heat with Alcohol because of sex being evil and all. It was just a tease, the writers reminding us that these young, attractive folks could have sex if they-the writers-wanted them to.

Yes she did and of course she was completely disgusted with herself for having sex with the guy.

1.) Alec or Logan. Logan or Alec. Can I say that I don't prefer one over the other? I like aspecs of both characters and both actors are equally, good looking (IMO.) Alec, is a very complex guy... just like Joshua explains with his painting and like what we see in TBA. Logan, while, perhaps being a not as complex guy still has a lot of pluses, he wants to right the wrongs of the world and even though he does have flaws (as Alec does too) in the way he treats Max (this isn't a shipping comment just an observation of there relationship--whatever it may have been) he still cares about her and I don't believe he tries to be an a**hole and hurt her, sometimes it just happens.

I can see mjl1297's point, because it may affect the way posters see the relationships on the show, though I don't know if that's what mjl1297 had in mind when he made the comment.

With respect to your wondering why I asked whether the respondent was single or married way back when, I had a theory that more single women would prefer Alec and that more married women would prefer Logan. I was fairly certain that most of the guys would prefer Logan but that doesn't necessarily mean that would loathe Alec.

OT-Lyric, I'm on Season 4 of LFN now and Season 5 will follow that up shortly thereafter.
