What do we know about Pulse and Ian's role in it so far?

Actually, I don't know much about it. I know it's a horror movie, remake of a Japanese (?) movie, it was shot in Romania and Ian's in it.... um... ya that's about it.

Okay, I also know some of the other actors and bits and pieces about the storyline, but what about Ian's role? Big or small? A friend of mine keeps trying to convince me that Ian's character won't be one of the major characters, but I thought he is?

Please, I'm dying for more information!! And pictures!!! Why are there no pictures out yet!!!!

I wish I could tell you more, but I really don't know much more. I know that Ian and I are planning some things for the site, but I don't have any of them yet. Until I have things in my hot little hands, I don't dare say a word because way too many things can change with movies and I could end up being totally wrong.

It's scheduled for a March release at this point and as far as I know, Ian is one of the lead roles. If he's not, he never mentioned it to me.

You can thank the Romanian postal system for no pictures. I sent Ian disposable cameras to take pictures for the site and he never got them.

Ya, the postal system in all eastern european countries is really bad. I had a friend in Bulgaria and a lot of the letters we went each other got lost as well.

I always liked the sound of Altoona, PA....and I've been there twice passing through on the way to Philly.

Um, because the only people around here who even know who Ian is are people who know me and therefore have to listen to me talk about him all the time? It'd be one darn small premiere! Especially up in Bangor. Not that it's "My Kind Of Town" but Portland would at least be more populated and city-like. Shorter drive for both of us, too.

(For those of you that didn't get that, I am a born and raised Chicago area type obviously not living in Chicago at the moment. Much to my dismay....)

The model-turned-actor is thinking about taking a lead role in "Pulse" for Dimension Films. Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars") and Steve Talley have already signed on to star in "Pulse."

Keeping with the current trend in Hollywood, "Pulse" is based on a Japanese horror movie ("Kairo"). The story follows a group of friends who find out one of their friends has accidently stumbled upon a wireless signal that allowed an evil to come into our world.

Ray Wright wrote the script and Mike Leahy and Joel Soisson will produce the film.

Filming is expected to begin this summer in Romania.

Just read what is supposed to be an "early review" about Pulse... Well, needless to say, it wasn't that positive but that's not the point... I can live with bad reviews. But this...

Not only did this guy walk out of the movie halfway and STILL feels entitled to spill his crap about it... and then... he doesn't even write about the movie itself for most of the article but rants away about remakes in common!!!

Wow, that is one freaky scary poster. I got the heebie jeebies just looking at it. If the poster can skeeve me out so much, I figure I'll probably spend most of the movie peering between my fingers. I abolutely hate horror movies anyway, but for an obvious reason, I've committed myself to seeing this one.

I'm such a chicken when it comes to horror movies. I will wait patiently for the movie to come out on dvd and then watch it with my finger on the mute button because sounds usually freak me out much more than visuals. Not even our beloved Ian will make me go to the theatre when a horror movie is on the big screen (or perhaps I would go if he went with me and held me tight during the movie ).

I'm a HUGE horror movie fan and I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie - if there is ever going to be a UK release for it.

I don't know loads about the movie, but I have watched the trailers and it looks amazing. There used to be a website for it - www.youarenowinfected.com - but that was when the US release date was in March, and it doesn't appear to be working atm. It might be back at some point though. Sorry about not being more helpful.

July 14th, yes but as far as I knew this is only the US release day. Lords knows when it'll be released over here in Europe...

I know what you mean about horror movies, I am scared to death of them. Like, the only reason I went to see The Grudge was because Jason Behr was in it and I was scared to death during the whole movie. Just like with Pulse, I am going cause Ian is in it Can I please hit the person that wrote that review by the way?

Oh yes please do so!!! I want to constantly slap him! I was so outraged... especially because a friend of mine - who says he's an Ian fan - believed that guy and said: If he says, the movie is bad, it has to bad. And I - kinda - shouted back at him: Did you read the review? He didn't even watch the whole movie? And he couldn't have anyway because the movie is not done yet? Special effects and sound effects were still missing and come on.... that's what makes a horror movie creepy...

It's just that that guy (I assume it's a guy who wrote the review) has obviously a grudge against remakes in common (haha! pun!!) and didn't give the movie any chance at all.

The Skinny: Another American remake of a Japanese horror gem (Kiyoshi Kurosawa's haunting "Kairo" [2001]), "Pulse" pits Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars"), pop-star Christina Milian and Ian Somerhalder, "Lost's" late, lamented Boone, against the Big Bad Whatever-it-is. The announced plot doesn't compute, but neither did "Kairo's." Thing is, Kurosawa's film delivered subtle, existential horror that shivered the skin and the soul.
