Elliott is not. Although I adopted him from the humane society he had not been fixed due to having only one testicle. They were waiting to see if the other one would drop. He has been sent three times to be fixed but each time they can't do it. As soon as his UTI's are all cleared up, he will be going in for his surgery.

Ozzy and Mitzie have were both fixed prior to us owning them. We got Mitzie from my husband's cousin's family, they had spayed her but then found out one of them was allergic to cats.

Ozzy we got from a shelter and they had already had him neutered.

Heck, don't come near our farm

we chop everything

the neighbors cat kept coming over here and having kittens in OUR barn so we caught her and had her worked on too

The mares are all fertal, but no stallions to be seen

Lance was the saddest

German warmbloods in the US {and euro too actually} are tested several times, starting at thier Mom's side to about age 4/5 to see if they pass stallion quality.
For US horses it's owners choice Lance missed by .02 precent

course, he wouldn't be mind if he'd passed.

You sound just like my coworker Pat. She owns a horse farm and earlier this year, the neutered her cat right on the kitchen table while the vet was there.
My mom is going to pay for Elliott's neutering as part of my Christmas present

That's interesting, I had never heard that. Wonder if it stands for Horses too? Geldings longer than stallions? I know a gelding cut in the first year will grow bigger than he would as a stallion, as much of the growth goes to secondary sexual characteristics.

Yea I was told that having Elliott neutered would make him live longer as well. I believe that they told me that there is less chance of cancer.

my baby girl isnt spayed. my family had a poodle when i was younger, and she was a super sweetie, until we got her spayed. then she became a nightmare! so, since we got lucky with my chihuahua, who has the temperment of an ANGEL, we decided to not risk it by spaying her.

We've always had our cats and dogs done. [never declaw though!]
we have a neighbor who never has and they've a yard full of animals... poor things... their litters never seem to survive - the humane society can't seem to do anything about it due to some sort of laws here... it's been ongoing for 20 years.
The newest puppy [Yorkie] isn't yet - still too young and we're thinking of breeding her - such a great temperment and the fact that she was so expensive that mom and dad want to recoup some of the money

i had a shetland sheepdog that was about 5 years old and she died in october from a blood clot while she was in surgery for a uterus infection.
it turns out that dogs that aren't spaded have a higher risk of getting an infection which i didn't know. i just thought the only risk was puppies so we never got her spaded. I reccomend spading as soon as you are able. I wish I had researched and found out about that little fact then skylar would still be alive.

Volunteering with several dog rescues has made me see how very important it is to do this to your pets--- with the number of dogs out there that need homes, there is no reason people should continue to breed dogs.

You do realize that it's alot healthier for dogs and cats to be spayed or neutered. They are known to live longer due to some diseases not being an effect to them. Just like humans, animals are able to get certain cancers that can be prevented by spaying or neutering. Also, it's less of a headache when you're trying to housebreak a puppy. When a male puppy is not neutered, they will mark their territory around the house, hump legs and will also be more aggressive towards people. When a female puppy is not spayed, you have to worry about their period and believe me, from working in a pet store, it's rough having to buy doggie diapers.
