I just had a little JM fest this morning on You Tube. I was watching a 2003 buffy con. He really does do the best con talks. Ben Browder is best when he can play off someone else on stage. When he's just by himself and the audiance he's less comfortable. James really seems to interact in a way I've never seen before. Ben does better DVD commentary but then again I've never heard JM lead a commentary, he's always been one in a group.

We need a con thread.

Start one! I love to talk Conventions. Aside from James my favorite people to hear talk are Danny Strong, Camden Toy, Amber Benson and Jonathan Woodward. They are all smart and witty people. I guess I don't get out of the Buffyverse much...I did see a few Star Trek type actors on the cruise to Alaska....and liked them a lot as people....but I can't think of one that really did more than answer fans questions in a fairly straight-forward way. The thing about James is the question is just a jumping off point for him. You never know where he's going to go with it.

Actually I HATE flying west. It's horrible to get there from where we live. Raleigh doesn't have a direct flight, the connections NEVER work We've had much better luck getting to UK or Euro than out west.

Plus, DV is starting to think about our big spring trip. I think it will be a combo UK and cruise around somewhere in Euro, either extreme northern or Turkey/Greece but I want to do Turkey/Greece over land.

Anyway, it come out to a lot of long plane trips which I HATE.

The auction pics are awesome he looks in fine form. I don't get the sweat thing Brendan did the rubbing thing for Ms.T once and she washed the shirt

I'm assuming it's for the collection of DNA purposes that the gals want the sweat.

I noticed a patch in that last pic? Did/is he quitting smoking? That would be a good thing. I'm surprised he smokes. REAL unhealthy.

He is very anti-smoking. I,personally, have never seen him with a cigarette (except on tv) . But he has been on that patch as long as I've been going to his Cons. I started in the summer of 2003.

Wonder what the patch is for? Glad he doesn't smoke. After living with a cancer doc for 24 years, that's the ultimate sin.

I hope the writers strike doesn't mess up Jame's shooting schedule I totally support those guys but still.........maybe JM will get more work in the UK maybe DW AND Torchwood

I'm very excited that ABC {?} has rebought :crazy: the pilot for Rob Thomas's show, Cupid. Which they cancelled after ....5 {?} eps about 7 years ago. Jeremy Piven had the lead then, {and was brilliant} but I don't know if he'd revisit?

James would be great for that and it's a great concept. If you didn't watch the show in the first place it's about a mental patient who thinks he's the god Cupid put on earth as punishment for the state of Eros in the world. He has to get 100 couples together without supernatural means before he's accepted back to Valhala {or mount whatever} He gets let out under the care of a court appointed Psychiatrist and goes about making her life hell He joins her lonely hearts group thinking he'll find people ready to hook up, and he works in a bar.

The concept is, your never sure if he's REALLY Cupid or nuts it was very smart and funny. It dealth with themes such as "what is love?" "what is lust?" "Is there someone for everyone?" It had some great stuff in just the 6 shows that aired. I loved it and was so sad it was canceled. That show, another show called Strange Luck and Earth 2 are some of my most "upset" canceled shows that were never given a chance. And of course, Farscape.

The patch is for keeping that nicotine buzz coming. They say that it isn't really that harmful (as long as you don't smoke at the same time) to keep using the nicotine patches but you have to move the spot where you place it around because some other chemical on it can cause an allergic reaction with prolonged use.



Well, we know that James already shot at least one more WAT and one Smallville . If the scripts are already written for the rest, he'll be able to shoot them as well. And Torchwood shouldn't be affected at all. I'm pretty sure they already have the script for the "Chasing the Devil" thing...so all in all, I think we will be seeing a fair bit of Mr. M on our tellies even with the strike.


Be interesting to see what kind of programming they go with to fill in. There was some talk that they could buy more old British shows (which I would like) or maybe bring Monk, Psych, things like that or the cable show you were mentioning on to the major channels. We'll see. Hopefully the strike will get settled sooner rather than later. I support the writers position, too.

They did a great job also tho, even pretty men take bad pics and not one of those pics seem like a dud. She also did a greta job with getting his ever changing facial expressions.

I do have to hand it to her, she must take a million bazillion photos and I don't think I've ever seen a bad one.


And yes, I have seen a few funny ones of sleepy James or pouty James or geeky James.
But they are all fun in their own way.
