I wonder if someonelse would like to wind up theories on what might happen in season 3 ?

I personally am a little torn by how season 3 will go on.

Will they really skip a whole year or will the next episodes of bsg deal with the moving and tilling of their new home new caprica and fill in the gaps on what happened on topics like how the Chief got his facial hair and when did Kara decided to let her blond mane grow (nope, i will not go into details, in case someone is has not seen the season finale yet)

Or will the story go on from the season end and the missing year will be served to the viewer by flashbacks?

Everyone is welcome to share his/her thoughts...

I dont think they will skip a year. I think they will deal with the aftermath of Baltar becoming president. I think Baltar will try to sign a treaty with the cylons and the Cylons will sneak attack the survivors and once more the survivors will embark into space.

They might even deal with the remaining humans becoming the Cylon baby factories that they were seen trying to turn the humans into during The Farm or we might have a mixing of races such as with Helo and Sharon.

There are just to many possibilities to imagine. I see Tyrol becoming a resistance leader and leading the survivors in a fight against the Cylons. I see Tigh and his wife becoming stone cold sober and joining the resistance.

Just to many to think about.

Hi CaptStadia,

sounds pretty reasonable. BSG will have a big resistence story line to start with and I do hope we'l have a chance to see our Chief leading the resistence. (bearded with glases wink.gif )

Cylon child: I just hope, they don't want to connect to Battlestar Galactia 1980 series and to the wonderchild there. But since I remember it was a wonderboy in the series, and Helos and Sharon's child is a girl, I think we're save.

Found an Interview with Ronald D Moore, where he gives off some hints.

"...season two finale of Battlestar Galactica was chockfull of major plot twists, and it also ended on a big time cliffhanger that has already got fans of the Sci Fi Channel show dividing into two separate camps – the love-it or hate-it types, of course..." (I'm not sure, if I can post the total interview - so just the link)

October !!! Why in hell do we have to wait that long ... sigh... big sigh...

Patience - not one of my strengths.

I do love Aaron with a beard but I also think he is sentenced to life with a baby face.

As for waiting until October, I think the powers to be at universal who decide the dates the new seasons start have deep sadistic need to torture the fans of the show. At least all you have to wait for is october, I have to wait for the last ten episodes to come out on dvd.

Thanks for the article. I found it a good read. I am anxious to find out if Aaron gets a life started with Cally or succumbs to the femine wiles of yet another sharon.

That's it !!! 100% true - they must have a sadistic need to torture us. banghead.gif Or just love to run re-runs on tv... and hope it pays the bills.

I sure do hope that he doesn't has another loved one dying in his arms. (Been there, done that!)

This one year jump in the story is very unexpected for me. They better have a good story line to continue. I hope BSG hasn't lost any viewers to that. But we won't know until October. bawl.gif

Have you heard something about BSG being moved to prime time and that scifi friday will only have SG-1 & SG-A running. Don't know if that is a good idea. I love the idea of scifi friday, and am not sure if one should send BSG already up against prime time shows. confused.gif Another thing to wait & see what happens.

BTW others are welcome to share their thoughts...

grin.gif I was just thinking about Cally's baby. Do you think we could stand having a mini-me version of Tyrol running around New Caprica? Do you think the Cylons can deal with the minime version or will it short circuit their latex, and silicone, welllll, we will call them chips for now? grin.gif grin.gif

I am not complaining about the changes to scifi fridays mainly because I have to wait until all the episodes come out on dvd.
Tina_Bremen
I enjoy scifi friday - because it means on saturday I get my copy off the all my fav shows. cool.gif a friend of my tapes them for me.

Am glad that I don't have to wait for the launch of the dvd.

For having a miniTyrol... eyebrows.gif (smile) yupp - I could imagine that. Picking up screws & hide them.
CaptStadia
Tina you got me thinking about Aaron's son Taylor. I bet he is the spitting image of his dad in behavior and looks. So I wonder if I could get away with saying Aaron has a mini-me version of himself running around.

The ending of Season 2 has got me thinking of just one thing: which of the main characters are going to be turned into Cylon collaborators, out of necessity if nothing else?

I actually think Tigh is going to wind up as a collaborator. Tigh respects authority and command structure and despises the civilian "rabble". If he thinks the Colonial cause is lost and if he sees the Cylon occupation as putting some starch back into the disorganized human populace, he might wind up working with the Cylons; not because he loves them (he does not) but because he hates seeing humanity wallow in chaos.

Plus, if Baltar is effectively deposed as President, the Cylons might want to pick a known leader from the human populace to be their interlocutor. Again, Tigh. The Cylons will want a man who is not afraid to be hated and who has a knack for getting results. Tigh is also a follower, not a leader, and while he'd make a poor Resistance commander, he'd make a pretty good whip for the Cylons.

I hesistate to speculate on the Chief's role in things to come. Starbuck is (obviously) ready to dig her heels in and fight, and is (from what I see) going to be the nominal leader of the Resistance, along with her boyfriend, assuming he survives his illness. Roslin will (probably) be a party the Cylons try to recruit to their cause, and she'll probably play along with it, while secretly working with the Resistance.

All in all, I give Moore credit for having the guts to turn the series on its ear. BSG was in danger of getting a little too formulaic, and like the original series before it, needed a new twist. I like very much that humanity has essentially "wimped out" on the quest for Earth. The whole biblical feel is retained thus, as now the Colonials must endure a time of "bondage" before (presumably) Adama and Son return, like Moses, to extract freedom for their people, and once again lead them back into the wilderness in search of their Promised Land.

Which brings up another prospect: assuming Adama and Son return to fight, and assuming they win, if even for a short while, how many of the humans are going to wind up prefering security in servitude to the benevolent Cylon overlords, as opposed to the much harder path of fighting for freedom and a chance to find Earth?

Hi Sub-Odeon,

that is an awesome summary of what I think has a lot of good points speaking for the events you proposed. I see the possibilities... sigh... lots of possible ways the story might go. Scary wink.gif ... But again like you, I have the greatist believe that Ron Moore will surprise us even more new twists and turns.

Have to think about that a little longer. Thanks for posting your thoughts.

Kind regards,
Tina (also all time Star Trek smile.gif)

I just got to wondering when they go into space again, will they leave baltar and the people working with the Cylons behind? confused.gif
