What makes this guy so appealing? That he has Starbuck giggling like a school girl?

I gotta admit that this is one of those 'shipper' threads where i don't have a clue.

Katee Sackhoff seems to be nearly wholely responsible for bringing Anders Back. If she had just brought him back because we needed to get the survivor count up I could understand that. But women having the hotz for men is something that is beyond my little brain.

I just want to clarify that I was not putting down the relationship or how it happened or anything like that at all.

What I have seen so far on how thie relationship has built up leaves me wondering just what it is that he has done to get Starbuck all hot and bothered as well.

Maybe we will see some back-story on this. Gads, I hope so. I can accept that there is a relationship but it sure would be nice to know at what moment they knew they were made for each other.

Well, no one really knows how some pple get on with each other right? I mean, we all do know of couples that are stuck to each other and for the heck of us, we don't get it at all. E.g. the plain jane with the gorgeous guy. Or the tall model with the old rock and roll star. So one can't tell.

A back story wld be interesting though.

And on with the topic: Sam Anders!

According to TPTB (RDM, Eick etc pp) there will be a few characters who won't be living long enough to see the end of season 3. And I really fear that Sam Anders is going to be one of them... as much as I like the character by now, I can't see much of a future for an Ex-Pyramid player on a Battlestar. And his resistance-movement-experience won't help him much either when it comes to life on Galactica.

So, anyone out here to tell me I got it all wrong and Anders will be a (more or less) happy camper throughout the season and live to be a part of season four?

Awww.. I hope that Anders might live and stay on the series for yet another season.
However, I do see that for a series to live on, it thrives on drama. And drama includes angst and grief and sadness. TPTB's like to throw a curve ball.. they like us to fall in love with a character and then take it away. Suddenly.

I think we'll prob be able to make a better judgement when the season airs.

PS: Without the resistance, Anders cld be a Galactica gym/ training instructor. HAHAHAHA. JK

We will see more of Anders this season as MT got a contract, great news:) I'm curious about Anders; his background, will he get Starbuck back, will he join the colonial fleet, will he start a pyramid league? Where did he go after Starbuck chose the circle?

I'm sure Sammy knew what he was getting into when he married Starbuck. He is not stupid, but what can you do, love is blind, and I'm sure Sammy loves Starbuck. As Starbuck obviously takes her marrage seriously he could always threaten her with devorce if she doesn't stop sleeping around, but as he seems to accept it, good for them.

On Sam's behalf, let me growl, "Don't call him Sammy."

Technically, Kara is using Lee. Because she's running from Sam and the idea that her marriage could work. Lee is the easy out.

i really think if kara would take her marriage seriously she wouldn't be cheating on him with lee lol

For Kara to take her marriage seriously, she'd have to actually think about what she's doing. And she really doesn't want to do that.

Well, Lyssie, Starbuck isn't known for overthinking. Besides, her mom got it into her head that she didn't have anything in it (the head). [Flesh and Bone]

Also, if Sam knows of her being unfaithful and if he doens't do anyting about it, he accepts it.

I was wondering how everyone felt now after seeing the episode The eye of Jupiter.

I think the reason Kara chose to marry Sam is because she's afraid of what she could have with Lee. Commitment isn't her strong suit. She's in love with Lee, she's in lust with Sam, hey who could blame her. She knows Lee loves her deeply and I think she loves him just as much and that's what she's afraid of. Loosing Lee would kill her, loosing Sam would hurt but she'd survive. At least that's my opinion.

I'd say she is prolly more afraid what she'd do to Lee. She would never be faithful and she didn't want to do that to Lee. However, Sammy, obviously, he accepts it. He has his reasons for marrying Starbuck. What if he is a cylon and is he happy that he got to marry "the chosen one"; Starbuck.

I hadn't thought of that. Sam being a cylon. Going to have to think about that for a bit before answering.

As for what she'd do to Lee - I get what you're saying and honestly I think we're both right. I still think she's afraid of her feelings for him and if they married that fear would probably mean she would be unfaithful. If that happened and Lee found out - it would be over. And as I said before loosing Lee would devastate her.

Ah, the lighting in season 3 has been the bane of Anders fans everywhere. Not to mention in season two, he was on Caprica, so we were stuck trying to make him look human again.

This might be old news, but watching the Season 2 DVDs last night with friends, I saw a little 'deleted scene' from "The Farm" with Starbuck in the hospital, Helo sitting nearby and Sam being perfectly lit for screencaps... at least for 3 seconds. ;-))

I found the clip on scifi.com/battlestar - screencaps in better quality will follow as soon as I get the S2-DVDs back.
