11 QUESTIONS with PAUL CAMPBELL
TV GUIDE: Where were you born and/or raised?
PAUL CAMPBELL: White Rock, B.C.
TV GUIDE: Where do you live now?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Los Angeles or Vancouver ... when I'm not in my head.
TV GUIDE: What was your favourite TV show as a kid?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Diff'rent Strokes. I always wanted to find out just what it was that Willis was talking about.
TV GUIDE: And now?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Hands down, Arrested Development. No wait ... I know this one ... Battlestar Galactica.
TV GUIDE: What's your favourite lyric from a song - one you've spoken, sung or written if you've got one?
PAUL CAMPBELL: I wrote a love song once. The song involves a number of comparisons to the beauty of this person's dove-like voice. The first line is "When I hear your voice, I just want to scream / It's like running my face through a sewing machine ..." (You get the idea.)
TV GUIDE: What was your first role?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Santa Claus in Grade 4. I gained, like, 84 pounds for the role. Totally messed up my metabolism.
TV GUIDE: What is your dream role?
PAUL CAMPBELL: I have yet to work with the likes of Tim Allen or Stephen Baldwin. Maybe it's just not in the cards for me, but dare to dream I guess.
TV GUIDE: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
PAUL CAMPBELL: I'm having trouble with next week right now. Most likely, I'll be sitting on a dirty park bench drinking something out of a paper bag, discussing the finer points of lawn darts with a hydrangea.
TV GUIDE: If you weren't a performer, what would you be doing?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Building those insane little architectural models. I love that stuff. Little windows with little shutters, little bushes, little yuppies walking their little, little dogs.
TV GUIDE: What comes to mind when you think of Canada?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Celine Dion pounding her chest passionately, people saying "excuse me", "please" and "thank you", and bank tellers who you don't have to talk to through 1 1/4 inch thick bulletproof plexi
TV GUIDE: What's the best thing you've purchased with your showbiz salary?
PAUL CAMPBELL: Love
