Alison Gertrude Larter was born on February 28, 1976 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She started modeling at the young age of 13. It was while working as a model in Italy when she met Amy Smart. Later, the two girls became roommates in Los Angeles.

In November, 1996, Ali was on the cover of Esquire Magazine as Allegra Coleman, Hollywood's newest Dream Girl. The editors of the magazine wanted to illustrate the hyperbole of Hollywood hype, and approached Ali to play the fictitious actress.

The hoax landed her an agent and soon Ali started guest starring on shows like "Chicago Hope" and "Just Shoot Me". After that, she appeared twice on season two of "Dawson's Creek", as Pacey's object of affection, Kristy Livingstone.

Meanwhile, Amy Smart had already appeared in several movies. She was the one who suggested that Ali should audition for Varsity Blues. The film, which starred Hollywood's It-boy James van der Beek, became a surprise box office hit and launched the careers of people like Ali, Amy and Paul Walker. And from that moment on, Ali would be referred to as the whipped cream-bikini-girl.

She followed it up with the teen romcom Drive Me Crazy, in which she co-starred as Adrian Grenier's sexy ex. After that she joined the cast of the House on Haunted Hill, in which she starred opposite Geoffrey Rush and Famke Janssen.

But it was her role in thriller Final Destination which earned her critical praise. She won the Young Hollywood Award for Best Breakthrough Performance Female.

Next up were supporting roles in the surprise hit Legally Blonde, starring Reese Witherspoon, and in Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. She also starred in the western American Outlaws with Colin Farrell and buddy Scott Caan, before reprising her role as Clear Rivers in Final Destination 2.

After a long quiet period, Ali is making a nice comeback. With roles in upcoming movies like Marigold and Resident Evil: Extinction, and a starring role in this fall's hot new NBC series "Heroes", Ali's future is looking brighter than ever before!

I like her. Glad she's on the show. But she never seemed to be the TV show type of actor to me. She always seemed to be a movie actor. But I like her on here.

Yeah I agree! smile.gif

I guess actors get type-cast that way. Probably the same for her.

Ali is Cosmo's cover girl this month- here's part of the article.

Our Heroine
Heroes’ Ali Larter is one of Hollywood’s most buzz-worthy stars. And this candid interview proves why: She opens up about her sexy career choices, solid romance, and brazen approach to life. This chick is so Cosmo.

Until recently, we only got teases of 31-year-old actress Ali Larter. (She played the brave girl who sported a whipped-cream bikini in 1999’s Varsity Blues and Reese Witherspoon’s jailed sorority sister in 2001’s Legally Blonde.) But those small roles had one big thing in common: They left audiences wanting more. That craving was finally satisfied this past TV season, when Ali rocketed to stardom thanks to the success of Heroes, the Emmy-nominated show in which she brilliantly plays good-and-evil dual personalities Niki and Jessica Sanders. “It’s been a dream,” Ali says during her Cosmo interview at Los Angeles’s celeb-frequented Chateau Marmont hotel. “Now I’m kind of in a sweet spot in my life and career.”

Arriving in that happy place certainly wasn’t a cakewalk. “The rejection you deal with in Hollywood is hard,” Ali admits. “But you have to try to take some of the emotion out of it. Even though it’s a creative endeavor, it’s a job.” That levelheaded perspective could be attributed to a decision Ali made in 2002, when she returned to the East Coast to assess her career objectives. (She’s originally from New Jersey.) “That was a turning point,” Ali says now. “I moved to New York to define what kind of actress I wanted to be. When I tried to get back into the industry, I couldn’t get a job...but it made me dig deeper.” Summoning the focus and tenacity to survive in eat-you-up-spit-you-out Hollywood has paid off — in a major way. In addition to season two of Heroes, Ali has three — count ’em — three movies out this year: the sci-fi flick Resident Evil: Extinction, an indie film called Marigold, and the National Lampoon caveman comedy Homo Erectus.

It’s a diverse array of characters that capitalizes on the range of Ali’s own personality. “I’m a bit of a contradiction,” she says. “I like tomboy stuff, but I also love girlie, girlie lingerie because I feel sexy when I’m in it.” Bold, confident statements like that fall freely (and often) from Ali’s lips, which is refreshing in an industry where projecting a carefully crafted image has been elevated to an art form. “I very much speak my mind,” she says. “I’ll always be a Jersey girl. I don’t always get my way, but you’ll know exactly how I feel about it.”
