Thanks to the "source" who sent me the heads up for this.

According to Yahoo Movies, Jason has been cast in a new film by Director Marco Della Fonte called "International Departures".

"International Departures" is about five stories taking place in the departure lounge of five international airports terminals, exploring the meaning of having an identity.

Other cast members include Esai Morales, Joe Mantegna, and Armand Assante. The film will be produced by Billy Hurman (II), Gary Smith, and Denise Bridgeman for "Little Studio Films, Inc."

We are waiting for official confimration on this film. Once we get it we will post it here!

Little Studio Films has signed director Marco Della Fonte, whom they found through InkTip. They optioned his script 'International Departures' and have been working on developing it. The film, budgeted at $8 million US, is in the vein of 'Crash,' five stories taking place in five airports with the overall theme that explores the meaning of having an identity.They are going into production in July. Casting is currently underway, and they are in ongoing negotiations with A-list talent. In Tandem Films, a leading, UK-based worldwide distributor, will also be executive producing. Its founder, Gary Smith, ran Winchester Film for many years. The film will be produced by Little Studio Films' theatrical production company, Tornado Pictures. Producers are Alexia Melocchi and Alexandra Yacovlef. Marco Della Fonte is directing the film.

This movie sounds like something "normal" which makes me very happy! No gousts, no tortures nothing evil like. I'm happy whenever Jason's working but I missed the not scary charecters. I know I'll be able to watch this movie!

This project does sound great. So it makes you wonder why he didnt accept the offer? Like I said perhaps money or perhaps since it is 5 stories the role was really small?


I have seen alot of projects with people names attached thru the years and then you see cast changes constantly. So and So is attached then they are not. I think I have seen alot of projects in the early stages even change directors and cast several times till projects are made.

So perhaps at the time they press released these were who they thought but not signed for the project. I would not say anyone is not telling the truth but in this case they jumped the gun.

As the saying goes not till they sign on the dotted line should you throw names around.

Weird. I know I posted on this thread from LA last fall, but the post seems to have disappeared, like so much of mine does here, including the number of the posts I've made.

When an actor is said to be "attached" to a project, it's Hollywood doublespeak. It just means they've been in discussion, it doesn't necessarily mean contracts have been signed. They put the names out there to attract other actors, a director, etc., to make the project look more serious.

Speaking of serious, I just checked from a source, and the project is listed as beginning filming March 1, 2007 -- three days from now. Interesting.

Could be entirely bogus, but I think they listed it as filming last November, originally.

With a movie like this, five separate storylines, they could film it in pieces -- the five sets of principles wouldn't even have to see each other, unless they cross paths or come together at the end. Really a clever ploy for a low-budget film.

And that would make it easier to attract and 'attach' their talent -- they can work around schedules for filming other projects (and pulling off a wedding!), making it easier for them to say yes and participate.

I wonder if they were eaten when MB's server had problems from an apparent hacker?

Just got an e-mail from one of the producers. They are still claiming Jason is attached to this project but won't know for sure until right before filming starts as to whether he is available or not.

I am on my new computer and don't have access to my e-mail from here, yet. I'll log into the old one tonight and grab it and post her exact words.

I was on IMDB and I see on Jason's page that International Departures is added and this is what it says next to his name:
