I have some pictures of the recent trip out to Covina & the Charity Bowlathon to share with y'all.

Blu5ers are a group of Roswellians who began vacationing to Roswell related sites 5 years ago. We've been to Roswell,NM,to Covina and this year to the BAT. This year,we began our adventure with a meet-up at Casa Morena (formerly The Crashdown) for dinner and CAKE!

This is our group, plus our friend Noseedough....you can see us all except for the very camera-shy guy who showed us all around and is our resident expert and friend. You can make out the top of his head...and his initials are CG.

this was us doing a "salute" to all the MIA blu group. The sign says "Miss You All" .We lined up the soda, dropped a mentos candy in each one and ran like the dickens because I thought it would have a geyser effect. Later I heard you have to shake the soda bottles first but it's the thought that counts, right?

Brendan was fabulous...first off, newly wed and loving it,I surmise. Never seen him in such a great mood. While he bowled he joked with everyone and when I gave him a gift of a black rubber bracelet that said "Strength and Honor" on it and told him that it was something that the West Point swim team made up and wore as a fund-raiser for families of soldiers killed in war and told him my nephew was the Captain of the swim team at West Point last year but was in Iraq now, he seemed really interested and asked me lots of questions about the nephew. I didn't get a picture taken with him but that conversation was probably the highlight of the event for me!

This was just recently than? Like summer ?
Speaking of vetrens though and war.... today is REmemberance ( Can)/Veterens Day ( US) as most of us know right ? Anyways went to a service for it today at the coliseum they played the music prior to the few moments of silence ...okay it's just a few moments ppl...if you don't want to think or reflect on them still keep quiet! Argh I was so upset ... 4 ppl near me were talking through the whole moments of silence! I'm not kidding and they were elders .

There were a few students , exchange programs from other countries and they had more respect. Okay sorry about my rant

but that really upset me . I almost said something to them after but I held my tongue. These men and women have died and fought for our freedom ,we should respect them especially today of all days right ? Some of my family and my friends family too, ppl I know have fought and those in my family I never met have died , there is a long line of military in my family so I guess I'm very ...I dunno the word for it but anyways I better shush now before I go on and on and on ....

Yes,Jen and Brendan were married this summer. I think I heard July (could be wrong about that). But she has the nicest personality and was so laid back and friendly about all the googly-eyed fans being just thrilled with her hubby.

I totally agree with everything you said about showing respect for the sacrifices that have been and are still being made.

I had a nice, quiet evening at home. Linguine and Meatballs for dinner, cherry wine and white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Watched old episodes of the Twilight Zone and Absolutely Fabulous and then the Dick Clark Countdown to New Years show...Meat Loaf,Christine Aguilera...lots of entertainment from Times Square (I have to do that someday)...the only thing was that I had to let my 19 year old son and his friends go to the city to watch fireworks. Being an over-protective Mom,I worried about
a)them finding parking
b)getting in a car accident with a drunk driver
3)big thunderstorm predicted to be coming our way.
None of those things were a problem and they had a great time.
As my son said "Silly Mommy".

It was good. There was only one great voice...so no crying on the hubby's part, but the set design was really nice...very Asian feel. It was about a princess who put the men to a test and if they failed they died,if they didn't they could marry her. It was very like a fairy tale.

A cautionary Tale:
Mr.Berry called me over to see what was on his laptop (a bottle of wine he wanted and had not been able to find locally), the room was dimly lit,and I was negotiating not tripping on all the wires leading up to his laptop. I sat down and he glared daggers at me..."you've sat on my glasses!!!" he exclaimed.
I said "I'm sorry I sat on your glasses but you shouldn't have put them there."
He said"YOU sat on MY glasses and you're blaming ME??

Happy Groundhog Day!
Punxsutawney Phil predicts early spring
2 hours, 11 minutes ago
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. - A new pair of hands pulled Punxsutawney Phil from his stump this year, so it was only fitting that the groundhog offered a new prediction.
Phil did not see his shadow on Friday, which, according to German folklore, means folks can expect an early spring instead of six more weeks of winter.
Since 1886, Phil has seen his shadow 96 times, hasn't seen it 15 times and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. The last time Phil failed to see his shadow was in 1999.
More than 15,000 revelers milled about in a misty snow waiting for the prediction, as fireworks exploded overhead and the "Pennsylvania Polka" and other music blared in the background.
Sammi Gainor, 17, said she and her father first attended the ceremony about four years ago. "Since then it's really been just good memories of things I do together with my dad," she said.
"It's just kind of fun seeing people go so crazy about a groundhog," Richard Gainor said.
Longtime handler Bill Deeley retired and was replaced Friday by Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle members John Griffiths and Ben Hughes.
"It's a lot of work, but it's exciting to know you're a part of one of the most phenomenal parts of American folklore," Hughes said.
Each Feb. 2, thousands of people descend on Punxsutawney, a town of 6,100 people about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, to celebrate what had essentially been a German superstition.
The Germans believed that if a hibernating animal cast a shadow Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter would last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend said spring would come early.
Rick McFerron, an administrator at Indiana University of Pennsylvania some 30 miles away, walked the whole way to the ceremony to celebrate his 60th birthday and to raise money for breast cancer research.
He said he was skeptical of the groundhog's prediction.
"It's supposed to get bitter cold this weekend," McFerron said.
