I own season 1 and 2 boxsets, region 1, which has a 4:3, fullscreen ratio. I was wondering if anyone here had Dark Angel DVDs in widescreen aspect.

Season 1 in widescreen can be bought here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-Angel-Complet...1/dp/B00007LZ6H
But keep in mind you need a DVD player that can play all regions. This is from UK so it's a code 2.

Season 2 can be bought from the same website, but I'm not sure whether or not it's in wide or fullscreen.

Anyone knows for sure about season 2 fullscreen?

I talk to some peeps in the UK who say BOTH seasons are widescreen, but don't have the commentary or special features that region 1 has, so I figure a region-free player+both UK seasons+shipping=about $3-350... no.gif can't make it happen for a while....

I can deal with the full Chrisisall

Hi

Sorry in advance for bumping a old topic

Does anyone know what is the correct aspect ratio of DA 1.33:1 or 1.78:1, or have some screenshots from the uk editions to compare it to my r1 boxsets.

I live in the uk, but don't want to buy them only to find they have been cropped.

Cheers

RXP
The UK sets are 1.78:1 according to Amazon.co.uk. I just took some captures for you off the Dutch DVD set, which is 1.78:1 and PAL (same as UK). Remember DVD's are anamorphic so it is resized and displayed in the correct aspect during playback (1010x560)

Hey guys, I'd just like to add that i bought both s1 and s2 widescreen region 2, and they work fine on my PC using VLC player. Now I heard that you can only have 1 region for your CD rom drives on your computer, but it never asked me if i wanted to change it to region 2 or anything. So either my dvd drive allows me already or VLC overrides this problem, which I think i read online.

so I'd recommend those of you who want to see the widescreen version to order em and use VLC player. If it works for me I don't see why it wouldn't work for you guys. However I have read VLC doesn't work on laptops and Mac's all that often, however you have a PC it should work fine. But you can do some more research on it to make sure.
