OK..he was to have played a Russian assassian originally...character was changed to a tobacco chewing, tattooed southern "red neck"...I thought he had lost the part(for better or worst?)..found out about ten days that it is stil a go:)) this character does not sound too likeable..wonder if he surrives?....40 odd characters?..if one got killed every five minutes(let's take 35 characters) that's almost three hours..lol:)..you think PULSE caught flack from the JH fans..you "ain't seen nothing yet"..think BATTLE ROYA!..they will be saying that this movie "sucks" (and it might?)long before production finishes, or starts..lol:)))...imdb the CONDEMNED(this has more similarities(ms) than this movie..let me say that I came across the book(CONDEMNED) about a month ago..had no idea that they were making a movie(though the novel is an adaptation of the script) which I enjoyed..these are depraved killers, and there is no way that a movie can do justice to the novel, same as with the SHOOTER..the CONDEMNED is a brutal read, not for the faint of heart.., I mention imdb the CONDEMNED so thay you will have a fore-warning of how this movie will be treated:))..Ian leaves for Bulgaria(Sofia) on the 17th(I think, or is the 19th?)....old man has been googling Bulgarian women

hope little RACHEL gets "attached" ..she "ain't" too sbabby either ...a moment of thoughtfulness(hey, I like the sound of that..implies serious, profound, or just dumb )..the boy isn't a boy anymore..29 in DEC..if any thing, this movie(and lets hope it at least B+) will help dispell the youthful pretty boy(and at times wimpy image)..since he did not have the good fortune of getting a really good break( break out movie).when he had all of the youthful attributes and talent..lets hope that now that he is maturing that this might change..

I think once people see what a good Actor the Boy is he's gonna be getting more good parts,

Funny I was just thinking about how old he'd going to be in December, but he'll still always be "the boy" to me. Heck I even call my own husband that 'cos he's 5 years younger than me.

I certainly hope that this is a breakout film for him. He's definitely paid his dues, and I don't think you'll find a single person here who doesn't agree that his acting is top notch. No question that it's important for his future that he leaves the pretty boy image behind (tho' I've never thought of him as "wimpy") and starts getting more mature rolls. There are loads of actors who matured past their early "pretty boy" starts and emerged as solid box-office hits; I'm thinking John Cusack, Kurt Russell etc. I absolutely wish for him the same success.

Oh I remember that... years ago we had exchange students from Bulgaria at our school, and we had 2 of them stay at our house. The first one, Anna, totally freaked out every time she saw a dog somewhere because she was so afraid of them. She told us about the stray dogs and no matter how often we explained to her that there are no stray dogs in Germany, she still screamed and took cover behind me, when she saw a dog. (Needless to say we didn't really get along )

And I forgot if it was her or Marina, our 2nd Bulgarian exchange student, who told us about the nod thing... it IS quite confusing. Of course they knew it's the other way around for us and tried to do it our way but sometimes, they'd just forget about it and nod (meaning no) or shake their heads (meaning yes) and then slap their foreheads when they realized, they did it "wrong" again.

I'm still sad that I've lost contact with Marina because we really became friends. But this was pre-internet/ e-Mail age and normal mail got lost very often on the way, so the last letter I received from her was that she's moving out of her parents to study at university and that she'll send me her new address in the next letter. By now she's probably married with a different name, so it'd be near impossible to find her again.

Anyway... if Ian needs any suggestions WHERE he should travel on his time-off.... *hint hint*

Nope, no stray dogs (gee, almost typed gods.. ). A friend of mine has a really big dog and it was a hot day, so she went to the park with him and tied him to a tree, so he could lay in the shadow. I think she even left a bucket full of water there and went to class. (Well, I think it was a bit stupid of her, to just leave him like that but anyway) When she came back 2 hours later, her dog was gone. She totally panicked and called the police (after looking everywhere for the dog) and the police told her that they took him to the next animal shelter because they thought she'd abandoned him. Think she even had to pay a fine...

And yes, my exchange student WAS crazy. (The first one at least)

Maja, ITA with your assessment. She deserved that period of panic, and the fine, for doing something like that.

Back on topic: I'm intrigued about how they're going to alter Ian's appearance based on the character description. Looking forward to pix of this for sure.

talked to the boy today(missed first two calls)...he is "having a boot" on this one..says he playx the "coolest" character...going around blasting the hell out everything! ))...he seems impressed with production))...looks like MISS HU will be spending her off time in Berlin(remember her indecsion on blog link?)...think IAN will be leaving shortly for Andalucia(southern Spain) ...Sevilla and Gibraltar, will be driving, so no telling where he will go...am tring to talk him into taking the ferry to Ceuta, N. Damt it! I was in Barcelona last week-end. And the funny thing is that Ian is going to be here these days and I'm leaving for LA in a week . Anyway, hope Ian have a great time in Spain and enjoy it here. We're having the highest temperatures this week though. Particularly in the south, Andalucia is over 40ºC, so hot .
