Whee! Sent off for my DragonCon tickets today. Price goes up after Friday. And my tickets for the concert came in the mail! The place seats 1000 so it may be one of his bigger venues. Ben finally has a good camera with a great lens so even he is excited. Just 8 weeks away

CONGRATS! I thought JM wasn't doing Dragoncon? I must have read wrong.

He hasn't done it since 2003. But it's been on his official site (and on dragonCon's) that he is doing this years for awhile now. And they just announced Juliet Landau will be there as well! I've never met her and would love to. Maark Sheppard and Ron Glass are the other Whedonverse stars that are so far coming to DC.

Any scaper people going to be there?

At first I thought the answer to your question was "No" because I see no 'Scapers names on the guest attendees list on the DC home page. BUT,I checked Virginia Hey's site and she says that she will be there ...and she goes on:
GiGi and Lani and David and Wayne will all be at Dragoncon too.. YAY!!!!!

Awww now I really want to be there. I haven't met Ginny or Lani or....does she mean David Kemper? I have serious love for David Kemper.
Come to think of it, I bet DK could write very well for James. He does such a great job of giving versatle actors good material.

Giving versatile actors good material...
Sounds like what they are doing on Torchwood for James. They sent him a script for one episode and he liked it and accepted. Now they are re-writing it to make the "cool guy" part even cooler (they really don't have to go to any trouble...James will up the "coolness factor of anything) . My spies are stalking the Torchwood filming location in Cardiff as we speak. So far,no James sighting but the trailers have one for each known character and one for a John Hart. Could that be James' character? Time will tell....but I like the name.

Sunday's Q&A is transcribed by Bendy here....and that leads you to Fridays Q&A transcribed by Deb. Thanks to both of them for sharing with the fandom:
http://bendy1.livejournal.com/381392.htmlLet me tell you about Juliet Landau....I am in love. She is so warm, friendly and talented. James adores her and would love to work with her again. And I took a comic book that had her picture on the front. She was so excited to see it. She didn't know they made a new one...the only one she had ever seen was years ago and it was ugly. Now the artwork is much better. So she's asking me who makes them...how can she get a copy....and I'm starting to tell her about IDW when I think "Hey,I only paid $3 for this thing. " And I traded her the comic for one of the Drusilla photos she had out for sale. So she personalized my autograph to thank me for the comic. Later I went and had my picture taken with James and her together and she recognized me and told me she had been showing the comic to everybody...and James smiled at me so warmly because I had made her happy.

Oh,yes,go to JulietLandau.com and help her make her film "It's Raining Cats and Cats". All merchandise sold will help her fund the film. She plays 7 different characters in it.
Geek magazine will be doing a piece about this film and Juliet in Sept.
"I love what James said to her during one of the Q&A's. He said "I was really "Spike" when I was with you and the other times...I was faking it.
Now you say something nice about me. (big grin) . "

I fear we are in deep do-do in this country. I become so upset with people's complacency and downright stupidity to believe the lies that are being told! Grrrr argh! do not get me started on the republican party!
sorry to any republicans reading this

Wow B that is a super pic

It's so cute your hubby is supportive. DV just rolls his eyes at me for any of my fandom things

well, he secretly has a thing for Chianna on Farscape.

I don't remember how old James' kids are but I know I used to think of myself fairly libral about sexual stuff, at least what other people did, till I had my kid. Now I realize I'm a prude

at least where he is concerned.
I'm sad James had such a bad experiance at Juliard

How sad the teachers have such negative impack

I have no clue what she said....this was a Q&A Ben attended all on his own while I was off waiting in line for my photo/ autographs. See,it's not all like he just does it for me....he has some fun of his own too.
Ben says to say that she talked about the audiobooks she does...and said she likes working with Ben Browder and Michael Shanks equally.

Oh and the session started late because she was driving around looking for parking!

Mr. B says he remembers her talking about being in 10 websodes and she was pleased about it....but he was taking pictures and not focusing on what she said. Sorry.
Bum reportage.
Now ask me about James....there I was hanging on every word. It's funny to see James and his harem.
We do seem silly to those around us...but we make each other so happy (James & the harem) .

I'll go over to terra firma and get reports. I'll be in frelling heaven if any of the old cast are in the websodes. i figured they'd be jumping well ahead.

Well, here's a treat I didn't think we'd have...a podcast of one of the Marsters/Landau/Rohm/Chaos Demon Q&A's. I am the one who asks them to tell about an experience they'd had working on an small independent film.

That was fun

I love his laugh. Sounds like he was having a really good time. He likes to talk

Anth/Dargo is like that. He LOVES to talk to the fans. They practically have to drag him off the stage.
Honestly, it would be interesting to see Ben Browder and James Marsters together in a piece. Not that their method for acting is similar, I don't think it is, but their level of passion for the work and work ethic sounds alike. Course, they might clash, I think Ben kind of takes over whatever he is doing. He hangs with the writers, the cameramen, pretty much works the whole time he's onset. He seems to have unbeleivable energy.
OMG I can see Claudia and James together. That would be outstanding.

I'm really enjoying those

hope I see them before they yank them down. you can never tell when something will get snatched on youtube.
I have to say, those guys are into it

I hope someone gets the first one up with JL. It's better to see James live than read transcript. Some of his responses come out harsher than meant to be.
Berengaria
Sep 9 2007, 04:51 PM
Absolutely. I know someone who is so furious at something James said at this last Con that she's quit posting on his board. But if she had been there...he is so innocent with his foot-in-mouth answers. He is a lovely soul and a good man and while you can perceive ...especially when you just see it in print....that something was gross or offensive...if you were there in the moment, he is always coming from a place of just wanting to "share" his views with his friends.
And believe me, with the amount of questions he has to answer, it's no wonder he stumbles once in a while.
Vinity
Sep 9 2007, 07:43 PM
I think one reason he does have such a good time is he really is willing to answer anything, it seems. It prolly, in the long run makes the fans asking more responsible. They know he'll do his best, prolly more than he should so there is no "I get my jollies from pushing the actor and embarrassing him" I think maybe putting the responsibilty back into the fans hands actually backs them off. It's a brilliant strategy {also I'm not sure he means it that way} and very brave.
Seeing these, I think I will have to try and make one of his cons.
I can see how he could upset people with his answers anyway. He's much more new-agey than I had realized and even among libral democrats he's a little more out there, I'm just guessing. I, personally, am quite fine with all that.
