The last thread was getting pretty long so I thought I'd open a new one. I've actually seen two movies these past weeks. I saw Transformers and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I loved both, very entertaining. Great summer flicks. This Friday I'm going to see Hairspray, loved the original so I hope this one doesn't disappoint. It won't be the same, but I'll give it a go. You just can't get any better than John Waters.

I loved it, thought it was hilarious. Yeah, it was definitely a sex comedy. It was crude, but still funny. That was the first thing I've seen Michael Cera in and he was fantastic, I also loved the guy who played McLovin. lol.gif
JBRulez
The Simpsons movie.I wasn't impressed, it felt very forced.

Oooh, you definitely should, it's beautifully shot and acted! I really want to see it again grin.gif And James McAvoy is fabulous as usual! Hehe!
janicemcmanus
The Brave One- it was ok I guess, nothing too special. The acting was good but felt the story dragged on too long and the ending was just far fetched. A wait for rental is what I would recommend.
vrempire
The last movie I saw is 'Rush Hour 3'.
Not bad. I think this is the best among all the Rush Hour series.
Chris Tucker still rock although a little bit fatter.
carly-hope
Ms. Potter and it was simply charming

Grindhouse: Death Proof.... it was AWESOME! grin.gif

Yeah, it's been getting good reviews from the Toronto Film Festival. It looks beautiful from the trailer, I also adore Keira Knightley.
The_Watcher
Went to see 3:10 to Yuma.
ehh it was alright i guess. If not for Russell Crowe i probably would have left.

Run Fatboy Run

Not really my kinda film but it was alright, I enjoyed it.
Stardust
The Bourne Ultimatum bouncy.gif

If you want to see a GREAT action/thriller...go see this movie. It was really good. It was full speed from the beginning until the end. What a great way to escape reality for a couple of hours...you don't have time to think about anything else..you get all caught up in the movie. Just what the doctor ordered...

Two weeks ago I say Waitress, which I have been wanting to see since earlier in the summer. I really enjoyed it though a lot of the topics in it hit a little close to home after recent events in my life.

Last week the hubbie and I went to see Rocket Science, which was pretty good. I loved all of the stuff about high school debate since I was on the team back in high school smile.gif
UltimateCandyDreamer
I LOVED the Bourne Ultimatum, one of the few trilogys where the third one didn't let the previous too down (aka Spiderman/Shrek) I was really impressed grin.gif

The film i last saw was 'I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry' i actually found it really hilarious!

I loved Waitress, Keri Russell is so great. Oh, how I miss Felicity.

A week ago I saw Across the Universe, I really enjoyed. I loved the music, I can't get it out of my head now. Great acting, and visually stunning. I absolutely love Jim Sturgess.

Yesterday I saw We Own the Night, and I really enjoyed it as well. Great cop, crime action film. Joaquin Phoenix looked and was excellent as always. Set in the 80's so it takes you back a little. At least what I could remember was the music.
UltimateCandyDreamer
I really want to see Rendition (i think thats what it's called!) With Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon nod.gif
soylentgreen
Me too! I haven't been to the movies much lately, except I saw Outsourced which was funny and a good feel good movie. Outsourced trailer.
janicemcmanus
We Own the Night - meh..... yawn.gif
UltimateCandyDreamer
I saw Stardust twice, it was much better the second time for some reason! Robert DeNiro was soooo cute! Brilliant film!

Also saw Rendition, which i personally quite liked although i have seen a lot of negative reviews from audiences and critics alike. The acting was definitely not as good as say...Walk the Line and Brokeback Mountain but still good enough to carry the story. The part where Reese Witherspoon shouts "tell me he's going to be okay!" gave me goosebumps!
janicemcmanus
American Gangster-simply put AWESOME movie with outstanding acting from both Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. I smell Oscar noms for both, for director Ridley Scott and the movie itself. You will definitely see this one on Oscar night.
