i have hp pavilion & tried to put in my system recovery disc & its not working? i clicked on erase & then recover option & it sat there for 6 hours & didnt do anything. it never showed a progress line or anything. it was not responding to anything i did, esc, alt+ctrl+delete, etc. the mouse wouldnt respond either the cursor wouldnt move at all. i thought maybe it froze so i turned it off & did it again. the same thing happened it sat for 7 hours this time. i just turned it off & gave up. wats wrong y wont it recover? i have 2 discks w/ my pc, system recovery & application recovery. i was useing system recovery. i want to wipe the pc of everything then put it all back.

Best advice call your HP tech support people they're very helpful and they helped me completely restore mine from scratch within 2 to 3 hours The number to call should be on the manuals

Long story short, I changed my email address and lost my User ID in the process. I re- registered with the same User ID, but I lost all my information like number of posts and start day. Is it possible to get this information back?
