Ah, so that's what he looks like without his cap on..... I was just talking to someone the other day about how I probably wouldn't even recognize Bobby if he wasn't wearing the trucker cap. lol.gif

I'm guessing the "spoilers" alert is Supernatural-spoiler related? look.gif
UltimateCandyDreamer
Haha, so true Anla, i wouldn't have recognised him without his cap lol.gif What is your favorite Bobby scene?
Anla
Hmm, favorite Bobby scene? He's awesome in all of them. But probably the one in Born Under a Bad Sign when he calmly watches DemonSam fall to the ground and makes his "Don't con a con artist" line. I was so worried that DemonSam was going to manage to kill Bobby, too, but Bobby is just that good that he recognized it wasn't really Sam. And he had a contingency plan in place. hurray.gif

hurray.gif More Bobby last night! Always makes me happy. grin.gif

Oh god, I LOVE his character and I've seen Jim in so many other series, like "Lois&Clark", "Monk" and also the movie Hollywoodland in which he was the biographic expert.

That's why I was even happier when I had the chance to ask him a couple of question (be careful, there might be some spoilers in it):
myFanbase
That's the English version

I think it's great to see that the JJs and Jim get along so very well. I love hearing stuff from behind the scenes, because then I will definitely love the show even more.
Anla
Oh, the actors all get along? That's great. They really do seem to have a good friendly type of vibe on this show, which definitely helps add to the family dynamic (first with JA, JP, and JDM, and now you say JB - so many J names lol.gif ).
ec86
Definitely many J names lol.gif yeah, as you can read in question 9:

9. What can you tell us about the working relationship with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki?

and his answer grin.gif
Anla
I never noticed that Jim Beaver was another J name until writing-up that post. lol.gif

HBO's series, 'John from Cincinnati', will be released on DVD on March 25, 2008.

Jim beaver starrs as Vietnam Joe, a war veteran who "spends most days smoking pot at his camp by the Tijuana Sloughs and fishing off the Imperial Beach pier. He occasionally ferries illegal immigrants into town in his van - when his militaristic manner doesn't send them running." Source.

It's been nice to see more of Bobby this season. Besides each other, he's the closest the boys have to family around anymore.
Anla
I do love Bobby's interaction with the boys. He's always there for them, but he also calls them on it when they do something dumb. Yet he does it with love, and they clearly know that he cares about them. Like in "Bad Day at Block Rock", how after finding out Sam touched, then lost the rabbit's foot, Bobby's all "Take care of your brother, you idjit." Normally, I don't like people to call Dean an idiot, but Bobby's earned the right to do so in that situation. lol.gif

I do love Bobby's role as father-figure to the boys (although I don't think that he'd ever take John's place). And so Dean actually coming out to say "You're like a father to me!" made me happy (even with the sad circumstances around it).

"Dream a Little Dream of Me" - We got to see some of what a Bobby-hunt is like, one that he's on without the boys. His room is interesting, compared to theirs. The boys just kind of throw their stuff around their rooms, notes all over the place. While Bobby has his notes carefully hidden away from casual observers. ('Course, I'm not sure that the boys actually stay at many places where there's going to be room service coming in to check on them........ wink.gif )

I was at the stores yesterday, looking at the DVDs, and I have a question: Deadwood was the show that JB was in, right? (I tend to get that name confused with Torchwood.......). Anyone know if it was a large part? (Because I'm thinking about giving the show a try if he was in it for a significant part.)
lyric
I haven't watched Deadwood (few minutes, perhaps), but the answer to your first question is yes. I don't really know about the second.

Deadwood on HBO.
Anla
Well, at least you helped narrow it down to which show title it was. Thanks. smile.gif

(I've been hesitant to go to any actual sites about the show, since I've never seen it and don't want to be spoiled. But at least I know that was the show he was on, and that's the most important part.)
Anla
Changed my sig line recently, to include Bobby's line about family from the finale. smile.gif It was one of my favorite parts of the episode, and I love how totally Bobby fits in with the boys, how he really is family. Because that was a totally Winchester way of him telling the boys that he loved them.
lyric
Are we talking Season 3 finale? Because I haven't seen it sad.gif But, interesting enough, I used the 'blood' thing for a fic title. I guess the series does give us all the sense of family not being determined by blood.
Anla
Yep, Season 3 finale. nod.gif

This show is all about family. But as Bobby's line points out, family's about love, not necessarily biology.

(That's why, when people would freak out at the possibility of Sam being YED's, and not John's, it never bothered me too much. While I don't think that theory is correct, even if it was, I don't think it would change much. Sam would still be John Winchester's son, still Dean's little brother. Their feelings wouldn't change.)

And Bobby really is family. Earlier in the season, Dean even blurted out in panic that Bobby was like a father to him. And here we have what's undoubtedly the closest to an "I love you boys" from Bobby that we're gonna get (because while he does love them, and they love him, none of them are the type to want to actually say it and risk a "chick flick moment" wink.gif ).

You used that quote from Bobby for a fic title? Or just that general idea?
lyric
QUOTE(Anla @ Jul 4 2008, 05:37 PM) *

You used that quote from Bobby for a fic title? Or just that general idea?
I didn't know about the quote until I saw it on your sig. The fic title (which I really hope will see the light of day one day wink.gif ) has to do with how there are things which go beyond blood. The idea does revolve around one of the boys not being John's, and I actually had the same thought as you have about 'still be John Winchester's son, still Dean's little brother. Their feelings wouldn't change', to a point where we both used pretty similar words (I think). And so your post made me smile and think the fic will work. Thank you for that hug.gif
Anla
lol.gif Glad to help.

Is the fic finished, or are you still working on it?
