Little IAN!

Inspired by Little Dustin (told you about it in the OT thread) I had a little photo statue made and I intend to send in on a little world tour. I hope a lot of (big) Ian fans will agree to take him in for some time and show him their place.

I took him up to our castle (Veste Coburg) today.





And I think he enjoyed himself very much.

Okay so... really EVERYONE is welcome to take part in this.

If you're interested (and I hope you ALL are , please PM or email me your snail mail addy and I will work out an itinerary for the little guy. I will keep all addresses to myself and confidential, of course, only the person who sends Little Ian to you will have your address.

At a different place, I gave October 15th as a deadline, so I have at least most addresses gathered to work out the itinerary as to keep the distances as short as possible.

Little Ian is a little photo statue I'd made and which I intend on sending around on a little world tour from Ian fan to Ian fan.

Until October 15th I'm collecting addresses of everyone who wants to participate and work out an itinerary. Then Little Ian will be sent to the first person on the list who gets to keep him for about 2 weeks, takes pictures with him, sends them to me and then sends Little Ian on to the next person on the list.

The plan is to collect pictures of Little Ian at as many different places all around the world as possible and just have a bit of fun. What kind of pictures you take is up to you (mind out of the gutter, tho ). I gave a few examples in the first post or it can be a picture of you and Little Ian... of course you can take more than 1 picture with him and do both.

Any more questions?

I'm in for sure Maja. I know I've sent you my address before, but I'll PM it again in case it's gone missing.

Yep... he has 2 Canadian destinations but Canada is a huge country, so the more the merrier!!

What's missing a bit are the Asian and African continent... Australia, too... (or in other words: anything not Europe and America LOL!) but really: everyone is welcome to join!

Hopefully by next week I'll have the first pictures of Little Ian who's currently in the Ruhr area (Ruhrgebiet) in Germany.

So far only 10 pictures from Little Ian at my place are up in the gallery.

It's a very industrial area, coal mining and steel industry.

This is really fun! When it's done you should make up an album as a gift for the boy.

Phew, now the pressure's on for me to come up with interesting sites for when he comes to visit with me. Oh the stress...

Talk about pressure! I asked to be LAST!

Sssshhh... that was the initial plan but I wanted it to be a surprise... Yep... that went well... *said in Mal voice*

And don't start panicking yet. Little Ian is at his 3rd out of 6 destinations in Germany (including my home), then he'll be off to Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, UK, Norway, the US, Canada and Brasil. 24 destinations so far. 2 weeks per destination plus traveling in between.... he'll be gone for a while.

A friend of mine suggested cloning him but I dunno...

IMO what makes projects like these the most fun is the fact that it is the same "Little Ian" that has been to so many different places. It will be so cool at the end, months and months from now, when everyone who played along can go "yup, he's been all over the damn place!"

Oh, haha, also just realised it'll be interesting to see how well he holds up, comparing the first photos taken with the very last ones. I did a similar project to help out a friend of mine's son for a school thing ... poor Paper Stanley nearly lost an arm when he blew away while we waited for the lightrail...

I was deeply concerned about the places I took little Ian. To be the first one (except for Maja) isn't good sometimes. Didn't know, what to shoot.
I'm so happy you're liking it.

Maybe when he's with me we'll be bad guys - I'll try to keep him away from the reavers.

Glad he arrived savely, Kyra. And your poor hubby!

Just one word of advice: Me, Cecily and Jamie all had some problems of getting Little Ian into focus when we took our pictures. It's probably because he's so small. I got the best results when he was really in the center of the pic and too close to the camera. Try to use your zoom (if your camera has zoom ) instead of going to close with the camera.

If he's a little out of focus, it's not the end of the world, but just so you know.

He's still at Kyra's, Nathy. Why yes, she is allowed to keep him for more than 5 days. I haven't forgotten about you, Nathy. You're on his itinerary. I'd say around February-ish if you have the time then.

If little Ian should ever want to come to Stuttgart I would love to show him around. Perhaps after his trip to Belgium?

EDIT: I just found out that I missed the deadline by, err, one month? Too sad ...

I can still squeeze you in, Avenida. He's still in Germany, so that is not a problem. And Stuttgart is a beautiful city... can you take him to the Wilhelma? I'm sure he'd love it there.
