Now we know what he's doing in Germany

ACI, Germany’s Zeitsprung in Multipicture Deal

LOS ANGELES, September 26: American Cinema International has entered into a multipicture deal with Germany’s Zeitsprung Entertainment, with many of the films set to debut during this year’s American Film Market.

Topping the list of titles under the new agreement is Perfect Hideout starring Billy Zane (Titanic). Directed by Stephen Mauel, the film follows the story of a young couple, who, while running from police, escape into a mansion and discover the family was brutally murdered by a serial killer who is still hiding out in the house.

Another recently completed film that will also launch at this year’s AFM is 80 Minutes, starring Gabriel Mann (Bourne Supremacy). The film revolves around a man who gets injected with a rare deadly poison by his former best friend and now creditor, who sets a life-threatening ultimatum to get his money back within the next 80 minutes.

The two companies have also collaborated on The Lost Samaritan, which stars Ian Somerhalder and Ruta Gedmintas. The film centers on an unassuming middle-class accountant who, in the course of 24 hours, discovers that his wife is cheating on him with his boss and has become the target of two deranged hitmen, after he was the "good samaritan" to an accident victim.

Thomas Jahn served as the writer and director of 80 Minutes and The Lost Samaritan. Michael Souvignier, Ica Souvignier and Rolant Hergert served as producers on all the films.

“American Cinema International is thrilled to announce the debut films from our most recent agreement with Zeitsprung Entertainment,” said Chevonne O’Shaughnessy, the president of American Cinema International. “We have partnered with Rolant Hergert on many profitable films throughout the years and are excited about our newest collaboration."

Accountant with a wife? OMG
old-man
already checked out RUTA smile.gif ...5'-11" with a BUCKINGHAMSHIRE accent...bloody good wink.gif )))..I was beginning to think the CIA or German Intelligence were doing this movie (could not find a thing on it)...of course it would have helped if Ian would have not insisted that the name was THE GOOD SAMARITAN smile.gif ))..now we have the director's name which is the key to unlocking further info
old-man
best I can tell is that the American Film Market will run from 31Oct-->07Nov in LA (Santa Monica, CA)

not certain that this one will debut at this year's AFM or not?
Faran
5' 11"?!?! Ian will look like a Munchkin. The premise sounds interesting though.

old-man, no wonder you're not sure if it could really debut THIS year during the AFM. That hardly leaves any time for post production at all, and what would be shown would have to be pretty rough. Wouldn't it be better to polish it and debut it later?
talliann
hurray.gif Thank you for the good news! More Ian in the big screen grin.gif
kyra
nod.gif so glad about the news!!! I know Thomas Jahn. He is very talented! A few years ago he made a fantastic movie with Til Schweiger. "Knocking on heavens door" is really great!!!!
talliann
Oh, I like Til Schwiger a lot. Wasn't he working with Ian in U-Boat?

MajaBee
Yup. He was the captain of the German U-Boat. (drool.gif)

Knocking on Heaven's Door is one of very few German films that I really like and that I thought was really well done. (Run Lola Run and the Bully movies also belong to this group)

So I'm really hopeful for this one! smile.gif And with so much German contribution, I'm sure we will get to see it here at some point. nod.gif
old-man
KYRA/MAJA..the boy is back in the states..huh shock.gif ))..he thought he would be in Berlin at least 5wk))..they shot this baby in about 14days..he was surprised!))..no wonder I didn't hear from him..heck, the schedule was probalbly too tight, what with oolging of the FRAWLINES and all smile.gif ))..KYRA, he says that your boy JAHN is phenomenal..should really blow the CA boys away when he screens a couple of films @ AFM (what ever that is called)..speaks highly of RUTA also ..who by the way is Lithuanian (I had gotten that from google)..don't know where the Buckinghamshire accent comes from)..movie probably wont win an Oscar. smile.gif .should be entertaining

taken from the 'TMULM' Bio on Ian about 'The Good Samaritan'
Ian is currently shooting 'The Good Samaritan' in Berlin where he stars in the lead role of 'William Archer,' directed by Thomas Jahn. The story follows William who, after a long night working late at the office, stops to help an injured motorist (who is actually the victim of an assassination attempt), and as his life unravels and he becomes the assassins' new target, his long night just gets longer.

YAY! We have a name! whitey.gif

rolleyes.gif

That's just because imdb is slow and/or doesn't like me. I sent in the update 2 weeks ago (as soon as the article came up). I sent it in again today...

Maybe one of these days they will accept it... rolleyes.gif
old-man
M..thanks for the effort!
old-man
MAJA..looks like your perseverance has been rewarded smile.gif --now listed on his imdb site..
MajaBee
Wooohooo! Finally! And there's also a huge update on Lost Samaritan which I'm definitely not responsible for.

Looks like Ruta doesn't play Ian's wife in the movie but Anna Fin. (judging by the character's names)

IPB Image

^^ Anna Fin

She's Canadian but was born in Moscow and lives in Berlin now. Wow...
Sartana
People keep posting this as written by Thomas Jahn. He directed the film but the script was written by Chris Artiga-Oliver, an American screenwriter. Thomas Jahn is a talented screenwriter having written another movie filmed back to back with the Lost Samaritan called 80 mins.
Sartana
IMDB has listed the writing credit wrong also. I submitted a correction but there is no change yet. And to clarify Ruta plays Ian's girlfriend, Anna plays his wife.
Faran
He's got a girlfriend and a wife?!?! I guess his wife isn't the only one who's cheating in the relationship.
old-man
FRAWLINE STEF ( no 'p' in that name-right?)..thanks for the effort and info)..look like it is up to you Frawlines for an current info(Germany)..hey, I wouldn't want a fine German lass like you to be linking TMULM videos! rolleyes.gif

kyra
grin.gif yes, the pics remind me very strong of my holiday last year: Havanna Club and a big fat cigar:hurray: maybe these great combination is still very popular in Berlin because of the times, when parts of Berlin and Cuba were not so far away, in a political and social way of life.
