Plot Synopsis: 'Wake' is about a young woman who, in her struggle to experience emotion, attends the funerals of strangers. At one of the funerals, she meets a man mourning his fiancée. As he helps her come to terms with her complex feelings about passion and death, she finds herself falling in love... until she discovers that he may have murdered his fiancée – and she could be next.
Except "Pulse" Ian is offered by films which on movie-news don't write.

Can't believe how many new projects the boy has. While it's been fun having him all to ourselves, I think he's breaking big time into a much larger audience.

Bruno Campos is a "homeboy"!

When I read the plot synopsis, I thought: Awww how cute, this could be the romantic movie, so many of us have been waiting for... until I read the last sentence...
And how funny is that, according to the imdb message boards, Kiele Sanchez (aka Nikki from S3 of Lost) was associated with this project for a while. Danny Masterson appeared in 3 episodes of Party of Five (Matthew Fox's aka Lost's Jack Shephard old tv show) and Shiri Applebly was Emilie de Ravin's (aka Lost's Claire) co-star in Roswell.
This is Less-than-6-degrees...
Ooooh... Bruno Campos... Jesse's neighbor... and the only reason why I watched that show.

Great news! Thank you
Ratty
. Sprague and Shiri, they're both pretty girls, I liked them from the tv shows I saw them in.
And the plot is interesting. I'm excited

. Any news about which place/city will be shot? Although taking a look at the cast, I imagine that Ian is staying in the States for once

That sounds coooool! And eh, will try to set aside my Roswell-induced-twitching and remember that it wasn't Shiri I disliked, it was her stupidly-written character.

(Love love love the idea of Ian in such a dark role ... yum!)

Hello Ian's Dad, I am a huge fan of your son. I am so glad I found this forum. I was just wondering is Ian making any up coming appearances any where in Southern California? I don't mind traveling, I would love to meet your son! He is a phenomenal actor!!

I appreciate this in advance, Jessamy

Can somebody help me? I try to translate the title of movie on Russian.
What does mean WAKE (depending on plot)? Funeral repast (feast)?
From IMDB: Desperate to experience true emotion, a young woman, CARYS, regularly attends the funerals of strangers. But she's unprepared for the secrets she must keep and the lies she must tell when, at one fateful wake, she falls for TYLER, who is mourning his fiancée. As Carys allows herself to experience love for the first time, she begins to fear that perhaps her fascination with death might lead to her own untimely demise...

Funeral repast (feast)?
Kind of. Though that's not the intention. There's usually food at a wake, though often it's just some sandwiches. It's more a time right after the funeral for the frienda of the deceased to get together and exchange stories about the dearly departed. Or not, some just go to get hammered - remember Boone and Shannon after Adam's funeral with the flask of hooch? Not that they got hammered or anything.
In the Jewish religion (and no I'm not) it's called sitting shiva, I believe.

A wake, in Catholic fashion, is a vigil. Over here nothing is served, you just sit around with the family, the casket is there, while you wait for the funeral (that happens within 24 hours of death).

Dec 8 2007, 05:04 PM
you can find a bit more about Wakes here

Thanks! The title sounds awfully in a translation into Russian

I_S - think this whole "wake" thing started before the advancement in medicine - after some-one died (or thought to be dead) there would be a person or persons who would remain with the body for an extended period of time to make sure that the person was truly dead - would not 'wake up')) on more than one occasion a person thought to be dead and being prepared for burial, was in fact not dead!)) winkipedia has it right this time with their description of what a modern 'wake' is))) that being said, I think the title is a little misleading using the word WAKE - though 'wakes' might play a prominent part in the movie)) I think a better title would be: WHERE ARE MY EMOTIONS

))) RATTY - keep away from those cookies!

yo, TALLI - you are giving her too much credit!!..that Brazilian CHICK was only half-right!...since she was not definitive in her answer -- all she wins is one of those trips to Stuttgart at a second class hotel with two meals at one of the local McDONALD'S (from the 1-Euro menu) - remember this is a low budget contest

It's weird, I noticed that too. It's no longer on Ian's imdb (it was there, wasn't it? Or did I imagine it?) and when I searched for the movie itself, it said you have to be an imdb-pro member to see more information on the movie? WTF? I've never had that before!
I'll ask a friend of mine who used to have an imdb-pro membership if hers is still valid.
