Today is the 11th Anniversary of the first showing of "Welcome to the Hellmouth". Congratulations, BTVS fans, the show has had quite an impact on us over the years....may the fandom live on forever.

Well, the fandom is getting quite a shot in the arm with the plans for the new tv series "Dollhouse" written by Joss Whedon for Eliza Dushku.

Was fandom fading? I sort of got the impression Buffy gets bigger as time goes on. I can't beleive all the actors who report watching it on DVD in interviews

Well, they used to have "BTVS" conventions...and from what I hear they aren't planning on doing that anymore. Even DragonCon now has a Whedonesque track (including Firefly,Angel and BTVS) where it once had its own track. Vulkon has dropped BuffyCons after having to cancel several due to low sales. The UK has stopped doing them. This Paley thing is important because it probably is a "last hurrah".

Well, Joss says there is some "announcement " that he's planning for this summer. I think its supposed to involve SMG .... so maybe that will be about something that increases interest.

Wow

I didn't think they parted on that great of terms? I'm not sure I really want more Buffy. I didn't much like her Character when the show ended, as a matter of fact, the only ones left I liked were all dead

Well, maybe it's a new somethin somethin . It might just be the cartoon series he wanted to do before on Saturday mornings. He had a few of the Scoobies who were going to do the voices...but Sarah was not among them and the series was never picked up....maybe if she is willing to do the voice of Buffy, the tv studio would have more confidence in the project....just a guess on my part. I don't know what they've got up their sleeves.
And unless it involves James Marsters....I don't really care.

Just passed the 12th Anniversary of the day BTVS aired...and the people are still asking about a Spike project. Hope springs eternal I guess.

As far as the artical on do they need a Buffy movie for the cast. Geesh, Seems to me JM is running himself to death. I don't think he NEEDS a Buffy movie. He needs a non genre movie so people who aren't sci fi fans could see him.

Never thought there would be ANY news about a new BTVS movie....but
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/05/a-joss-less-buf.htmlJoss' comment is very classy "I hope it's cool" but his twitter was more truthful: "Oy" with a link to the article announcing it.

MORE TV VAMPIRES THAN YOU CAN SHAKE A STAKE AT
1. Spike (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel): Of all the eligible undead floating around Sunnydale and later Los Angeles in the two Joss Whedon series, James Marsters' British bad-boy was the most sinister and sexiest, at least until he was figuratively de-fanged and turned into an unwilling good-guy.

More Spike-love
Zap2it does a review of Fringe episode...there's a gratuitous James mention right beneath
http://blog.zap2it.com/ithappenedlastnight...1/fringe-ashes-All episode this was bouncing around my head, "Warm breeze tosses the leaves aside, and again -- you're registering as Mr. and Mrs Big-Pile-of-Dust." God, I loved James Marsters as Spike. To a disturbing degree.
