This was a bit creepy in places...

I liked how it gave us some back story on Ianto - showing his interest in old cinema, and the fact that he's local to the Cardiff area. Ianto is growing on me as a character, because of his humour, so I like learning more about him.

It was also good seeing some of the Torchwood team going out socially together - even though Owen and Gwen obviously weren't all that interested in the film, and took the piss throughout.

What tore at my heartstrings though, was at the end. Ianto's pain at not saving everyone, and his clinging onto that one single soul he did manage to keep in the bottle. I know everyone was happy that they saved the little boy, but all I could think of was the fact that this little boy had lost his parents and sister. And the cinema boy had lost his parents as well. Nothing was really made of that loss, which is a shame.

I though the premise of the characters coming out of the film was an odd one though - it didn't really work for me. Though they were really creepy. Or maybe that was more because it was dark in my house, with the wind and rain howling outside

And we got more of Jacks backstory. Not much, but just a taste of him. I wonder if he was investigating the circus show as a Time Agent, or some other reason?

I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember everything I thought as I watched it last night.

I liked this ep. Lots of plot holes had to be avoided but I liked the creepy feel. This is from the same writer as Small Worlds, yes? Who ever the writer is they have trouble with kids and family thing. Something that should be fun and safe gets turned all around I was surprised the killed the kids in the end, that wouldn't happen here.

I don't think Jack was investigating the night circus for the Time agency cause he was using his ability to not die and that came after DW timeline. I'm guessing Unit or an earlier Torchwood? Do we know how long he worked for Torchwood?

Anyway, loved how much Ianto was in this. We really need more backstory on this boy.

I was actually surprised they DIDN'T use any sexual edge in this one. It would have worked well for the the two main night guy and girl, when they were at the waters edge talking about drinking peoples tears and tasting everything to add a little kinky sexual stuff there. It would have felt natural and up the ICK factor.

Oh, of course! I should have spotted that.

As for how long he's been with Torchwood - I'm not sure... It's never been made clear. Only that he set it up 'for' the Doctor?

This eps only been on 10 minutes and already I'm creeped out. Cat & Spook were right - it is a creepy ep.

How can you keep an eye on James' concert? From fans' posts or is it being streamed? I don't know any of his music, so I won't know any of the songs he'll be performing at the Gran Slam Con.

Oh,no, not being streamed. I just know a few peeps who said they were going to go. I think he starts at 7pm and goes for 45 minutes. I'm just curious if he's cut his hair, written any new new songs and how the general reception for him is (since this is the first time he's singing somewhere where people haven't come to see just him) .

How long was his hair? It was on the short side when he was at the BTVS Panel. Please give the OTOs a post about the reports you get on his concert tonight.

This ep reminds me of the X Files in its theme, tone and creepiness level.

The BTVS panel was the longest we've ever seen it...and curly!! We expect he has hacked it off himself by now.



I'm one of those people who are always freaked by clowns...so this episode is really not among my favs. I did like learning a bit about Ianto and why he is interested in the old movie theater.

Everyone is creeped out by this ep. James hair wasn't that long at the BTVS panel. By long I was thinking down to his ears or something.

As I've gotten older, I've developed a dislike for clowns. And what I hate most? Paintings of clowns. Ewwwww and Frank Sinatra collected clown paintings, I think. And Red Skelton painted tons and tons of clowns. More ewwwwwww and

I think this was written by the same guy that did the Fairy episode from the first season. That was off-beat like this, but that one seemed to work better. This one, I don't know what the writer was thinking.

I haven't seen that ep yet. Oh, my, the ringmaster guy is trying to "capture" Owen and can't - he's already dead.

That bit wasn't bad. And I like when the old lady at the hospital mentions Jack's eyes. The look on his face was good.

But the rest, talk about a phyrric victory.

I watched the show again at 9 PM. The plot reminded me of "Purple Rose of Cairo," the Woody Allen movie in which Jeff Daniels steps off the movie screen and into Mia Farrow's life. I had one more point to make but it's gone straight out of my head.

I liked the ep but I like this sort of feel/creepy I do know a lot of the ep doesn't make sense. I liked the fairy ep too. This writer is hard on families.

Can you imagine James curls down to his shoulders? That would be so great
