Jensen Ackles set for 'Bloody Valentine'

Jensen Ackles is in final negotiations to play a lead in Lionsgate's "My Bloody Valentine 3-D."
In helmer Patrick Lussier's remake of the 1981 slasher film, Ackles will play Tom, a handsome, principled man who returns to his home in Harmony, Mo., 10 years after 22 people were murdered on Valentine's night. Back in Montana, Tom finds he still is smitten with his first love, Sarah (Jaime King), and is now a murder suspect. Zane Smith wrote the screenplay.
Jack Murray, John Dunning and Andre Link will executive produce. Executive producers for Lionsgate are Mike Paseornek and John Sacchi.
Production begins May 12. A Jan. 23 release is planned.
Ackles (the CW's "Supernatural") is repped by WMA and Management 360.

The terrific Tom Atkins, probably best known to action fans as Michael Hunsaker from “Lethal Weapon”, has snagged a role in the Patrick Lussier-directed remake of “My Bloody Valentine” (only this one's in 3-D!).
Atkins, whose other credits include “Halloween III : Season of the Witch”, “Escape from New York” and “Striking Distance”, joins Jensen Ackles and Jaime King for the film, set to lens shortly in Pittsburgh.
No word on who 71-year-old Atkins is playing... but it'll be great to see him back on the big screen!

Veteran actor Kevin Tighe (who I personally will never forget as the chap who opened fire on poor Jerry Lee in the Jim Belushi flick "K-9") and newcomer Megan Boone have joined the cast of Patrick Lussier's "My Bloody Valentine 3D".
Tighe, whose other credits include the films "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" and "Roadhouse", was recently seen as Anthony Cooper - John Locke's Pop - on TVs "Lost".
Boone, whose only other credit is a short film titled "Elijah", makes her feature film debut in "Valentine".

My Bloody Valentine 3-D has claimed another victim; this time the filmmakers are adding Kerr Smith to the cast. Smith will be playing the role of Axle Palmer, jerk -off husband to Sarah (Jaime King) and antagonist to Tom (Jensen Ackles).
After the jerk he played in Final Destination, I don't think this will be too much of a stretch for Smith.
Smith's other genre credits include the aforementioned Destination and The Forsaken.
