Console, PC, etc?
I've got a GameCube (always been a huge Ninty fan) and a PC, with about 8 games for each. I prefer shoot-em-ups on the GCN, but strategy games on the PC. I probably prefer the console for gaming, since that's what it's designed for. I get sick of having to install new drivers or patches for buggy PC games, though when they work, they're amazing. Looking forward to Jedi Knight 3, coming out later this year.
My current favourites are Vice City (PC) and TimeSplitters 2/Zelda The Windwaker (GCN).

The only ones that I actually play these days are the PS2 and the GCN., but the N64 and the PS are lying around somewhere. It's a shame that these two old Japanese versions of a Sega and a Nintendo (...names, names, what are their names?) with raccoonMario and all. Good times.
Though as of now, I'm enjoying BtVS: Chaos Bleeds on PS2.

I forgot about my N64; I haven't played on it in some time. GoldenEye still remains one of the best multiplayer shoot-em-ups! I can't play Majora's Mask or Perfect Dark at the moment because I somehow managed to lose the expansion pak (don't ask how). I keep bidding for one on Ebay, but the auction always ends higher than I'm willing to pay for an obsolete item.
I also have the GBA, but don't play on that as much -- more when I'm on the move (for obvious reasons). I wish I'd waited and got the new design because I'd really like a back light to the screen.
I can't wait for Mario Kart: Double Dash on the NGC. It's gonna be so good.

Hah. I'd be willing to just give you mine- I do have two. (Don't ask how.

Heh, maybe you stole mine?

I have got no idea how I lost it, or why it was even taken out and replaced with the old jumper pak. I suspect my brother, but he says it isn't him. Still dubious, though.

I never understood the actual point of the expansion pack. Nintendo claimed it did wonders for the machine, but I never saw a difference.

Well, it gave it some extra memory, which allowed for better graphics while keeping the speed the same. Some games were unplayable with it, because they would have been too slow.
To see the difference, you need a game that uses both, then choose hi-res (expansion pak only). Command and Conquer springs to mind.

Actually I barely have any time to play any of them.. If I do, its either N64 with Goldeneye or GTA: Vice City on PS2.. I also still have my really old Atari from like 10 years ago, with space invaders and that frog leaping game

Yeah, I don't have as much time as I'd like to. The last game I played for any length of time was Zelda: The Windwaker; love that game!
I'm getting Soul Calibur 2 next, then Mario Kart: Double Dash. I really can't wait for the latter, as I've been a huge fan of every MK game so far; the SNES version, the N64 and Game Boy versions.

Do they really? Like Hangman, or something?
I used to have a book of Calculator Games. Not quite sure how they could be called games, though.

I love retro gaming. I was playing on Mario Kart 64 earlier, and remembering the time when we all thought the graphics were amazing!
It's still great fun, though.

PC, PS (Pal/NTSC) and PS2.
I using my PS1 today because I've got no NTSC chip for my PS2.
So I can play some of my fav. RPG 's like Xenogears, Lunar1/2, Legend of the Dragoon...
If they dont release Xenosaga and StarOcean3 in Europe I have to modify my PS2 too.
Paul
Sep 14 2003, 02:06 PM
Isn't that illegal, Jens?

I've got an NTSC N64, cause it was cheaper and the games came out quicker.

N64. Hooked on Zelda and the Ocarina of Time. My GOD, what an addictive game. Can't play though, because our TV doesn't have that scart cable outlet thingy.

I think you can get a RF cable for the N64, which lets you play the console through your aerial socket.

They still release games, but they haven't released a console in years(at least not in the USA).

We've had a PlayStation for a couple of years now and i'm eager to buy something new. I have an 11 year old that wants a GameCube. I think we are going to get her that for xmas, and I think its a good choice considering she's still young. I do want something more advance. I love the old school games like Pacman and such, so would a PS2 or XBox be better? I'm not sure which system has more of the older type arcade games.

*Stace* - I'm just about to buy a PS2 !! Im so excited!!! It really depends on what features you want, the PS2 has the DVD player, im not too familiar with the X Box. Also if you have the ps1 games, u can play them on the PS2 aswell. Maybe someone else can give you better advice!!!!!

I have a PS2 and I have no regrets.
Fi, I suggest either a PS2 or Xbox because they have alot of good games and it sounds like you only want a Gamecube for Mario.
Or wait for PS3 (what else could it be called) which should be out soon.
P.S: Is there a thread that appreciates Rockstar games? eg: Manhunt, GTA:3, GTA: VC and the next GTA is supposed to be out at the end of thisn year

can't wait!!!

I have an Xbox and an N64 currently. That way I can still play games with cool Nintendo characters (even if the games are a bit outdated) and I can get all of the newest games and watch DVDs on Xbox.

PS2, GC, X-Box, Gameboy SP. Right now, PS2 GC and GB are collecting dust because my modded X-box is so bad. Yes, modded, meaning I can burn games on it, watch movies(I have 64 movies on my box) and I also have every nintendo, sega, arcade, N64 games, all on the box. it's true.
