POSSIBLE SPOILER...

Certain tumors of the placenta also produce HCG and therefore turn the test positive even when the woman is not pregnant. Incorrect results, which are called false-positive or false-negative, results may occur with:
• blood or protein in the urine.
• use of phenothiazines, such as prochlorperazine (i.e., Thorazine) or promethazine (i.e., Phenergan).
• use of penicillin.
• use of methadone (i.e., Dolophine, Mehadose).
• urinary tract infection.
• hepatitis.
Other potential diagnoses that may mimic pregnancy but have negative HCG results include:
• ovarian cysts.
• bleeding without ovulation.
• dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is abnormal bleeding from the uterus that occurs outside of the normal menstrual flow.
• pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which is widespread infection of the ovaries, tubes, and other reproductive organs.
• polycystic ovary disease, which is an endocrine disorder causing multiple cysts on the ovaries.
• ovarian cancer.
• menopause.

You know I was hoping for something more from this therapy arc with Meredith, but this is getting kinda "eh" to me now. Are the writers seriously going to "fix" Meredith that fast to put her with Derek in the finale? Considering all the crap Meredith has to work out on her own. This whole thing is a complete plot device for MerDer when I feel it should be part of Meredith's growth as a character. Man, it had so much potential *shrugs*.
lilkatie79
They better bring Amy Madigan back next season. I think they can do much more with her and the other characters.
Isabel Anne Evans
Honestly, I hope not no.gif since I think we have enough semi-regulars and regulars as it is. We've been having screentime issues for a while now, and I can see Dr. Wyatt sessions hindering that even more. I rather have more memorable, quality screentime with the actual originals of the show nod.gif. To have the characters work out their issues by themselves, and through the help of each other. Just like they use to in the early seasons. To bring back the family, intern unity smile.gif. Plus Dr. Wyatt "fixing" the characters isn't growth to me shrug.gif.

Growth to me is exactly what Izzie and Mark are doing in regards to their development. For the most part they are growing and maturing because it's what they want to accomplish in their lives, and they didn't need Dr. Wyatt to do it wink.gif. Now to me that's growth. Going to Dr. Wyatt is like snapping a finger and presto the character is fixed. I'm really not partial to that type of storytelling shrug.gif. Just my 2 cents.....

TVR
Yeah I agree IAE - I have harped on about it for a long while..I sometimes think Grey's tries to cram too many different characters and stories in and sometimes that means there is not enough time for the regular cast.

Sneak Peek #4=5 (Ava/Izzie)

lmao.gif @ Izzie: to be your baby daddy

Okay, that scene with Ava and Izzie is surprisely funny lol.gif...so wasn't expecting that vibe lol....Elizabeth and Katie really bounce off each other very well *nods*.
lilkatie79
I see what you're saying about taking screen time and such. I just feel like the writers have failed a bit - she's a great actress that might have been better off being cast as a patient who is also a psychologist and says what she sees - in fact, she could've been one of the brain tumor trial patients.

On the scene with Izzie and Ava, I liked it, but it seemed too quick, too something. I think maybe because it happened in the hallway, which is highly unlikely with the HIPAA (sp?) laws. I know, I know, it's just a tv show, but still.

I think that Katie has had shortened screen time over the past few epis b/c of TUT. Hopefully, we'll be getting more in the season finale.
TVR
You could well be right with respect to TUT - of course it could also just be how the storylines worked out as well.

How many more episodes do we have to go now....just the 2 part finale..or is there another one..im losing track here and I am too lazy to check whilst posting this lol.gif Answers on a postcard...or on this thread smile.gif

Isn't there a Grey#s Q & A thing with Shonda and Betsy coming up as well?
Isabel Anne Evans
I'm going to be blunt and to the point, but I hated this episode.

The only characters I liked in this episode was George(even though they are regressing the heck out of his character, and thank gawd he might become a resident in the finale because I really don't want to see Season 2 George again *rolleyes* since that's exactly how George has been written the past two episodes), Izzie, and Lexie. Everyone else either annoyed the crap out of me, were too mean that I can no longer tolerate their behavior, or other storylines/characters were just plain lame/clique/contrived. Seriously, I really don't want to watch Season 2 2.0 *rolleyes*. The past two episodes just screamed of lazy writing, decreasing quality, and taking four seasons to deliver backstory info is going into "too little too late" category for me as a viewer. Truth be known many of friends dropped this show a long time ago, and now I'm beginning to understand their point of view more and more.

For me it was IMO one of the worst episodes of the season along with 4.07. If the finale comes to pass like I think it will be, then IMO GA will sadly be going into "jump the shark" area of no return. I'm completely dreading the finale. Damn, if I wasn't a big hardcore Katie Heigl fan I honestly would have heavily considered dropping this show this week. I'm beginning to think just put GA out of it's misery no.gif, or just watch Izzie scenes on You Tube lol.gif.

The Q & A is up on the official site, and fair warning there is a lot of BS concerning the character of Derek.....

Couldn't stand Cristina with a passion. I usually can't, but this week I REALLY didn't like her.
Felt sorry for Izzie trying to handle Rebecca/Ava.
Felt sorry for Alex.
Felt sorry for Lexie. Cristina is such a 'B' and Meredith letting her say those things, whether she felt that way or not, made her one too.
Felt sorry for Bailey.
Enough of the Hahn/ Torres thing. McSteamy's reactions are the only reason to watch them.

George had the best scenes and lines of everyone. I applaud TR's work.
His scenes were the only reason to really watch this week.

Otherwise it was an 'eh' ep.
My co-workers were of the same mind.
