Just read about this interesting article
The Top 13 Hottest Sci-Fi Women Ever, and the Jessica Alba – Max Guevera in Dark Angel was listed at the top three.
Clearly, this list, um... compromised. It should perhaps be titled "Big time actresses and their sci-fi steps to greatness..."
Ashley Judd is hot now; wasn't anything much back on STNG.
Natalie Portman wasn't even allowed to be hot in SW#1; sorry, but pedophelia is unattractive. The reviewer lost all credibility w/ this one.
Jane Fonda's Barbarella was a huge stepping stone for her career, and an excellent example of late 60's zaniness, but the mores of the time limited how sexy she could be allowed to be; there's lots of alternatives
on TV in recent years that easily eclipse her. Plus she's an idiot who betrayed U.S. prisoners of N. Vietnam; she'll never be forgiven for that, nor should she. Removes any sex appeal she ever had.
Sigourney Weaver - sorry, just not a strong candidate for this list, even if you replace her strongest contender of the Alien franchise [Aliens] with her far sexier performance channeling Jane Fonda's Barbarella in
Galaxy Quest! Actually, w/ her role in GQ, she just might belong on the list: it's a coin toss. I'll let the forum decide.
Gillian Anderson. [Sigh] No. Sorry, just not hot enough to make the cut. Yes, my enduringly red-head jonesing tv-chef friend would violently disagree, but aside from someone who just has as an abnormal lech for red-heads, Gillian Anderson while attractive enough overall as a real life person [smart, attractive, unpretentious] just doesn't have enough smoking-hot silver screen sex appeal to round out this roster.
So, 3&1/2 spots have opened up on the list, and Max definitely gets promoted a notch or two. I'm not saying Max is #1 [I'm not revealing my choice... Leeloo! Leeloo! Leeloo!

] but she's definitely higher up than 10th!
