QUOTE
Shipping, derived from the word "relationship", is a general term for fans' emotional and/or intellectual involvement with the ongoing development of romance in a work of fiction. Though technically applicable to any such involvement, it refers chiefly to various related social dynamics observable on the Internet, and is seldom used outside of that context.

Shipping can involve virtually any kind of relationship — from the well-known and established, to the ambiguous or those undergoing development, and even to the highly improbable and the blatantly impossible. People involved in shipping (or shippers) assert that the relationship does exist, will exist, or simply that they would like it to exist.

There are different Dark Angel ships thread on the board, and there are probably other Dark Angel ships which don't have one, not to mention crossover ships.

This thread welcomes All shippers, with the hope that we can have interesting discussions on why we think some couples couldn't never work while others may be the perfect couple. No agreement is expected, and criticism is welcome. Bashing, however, is forbidden.

Since relationships are a very explosive material, here are some ground rules. Stick to them.

1. No bashing.

2. Respect other people opinions.

3. Try to make your point as clear as possible. Relationships are hard as it is.

Lets have some fun! grin.gif

Okay, I'll start: Max/Logan and/or Max/Alec. Why should/shouldn't they be together?

Max/Logan:

Why they should: Because it added a layer to the plot.

Why they shouldn't: Do we really have to have romantic relationships? Isn't that like taking an obvious path? Threw in romantic relationships, and we're doomed to have problems (plot-wise problems).

Max/Alec:

Why they should: Because it would sure add a layer to the plot, complicating things (between Logan and the X5's; within the 'genetically empowered'; between the two of them).

Why they shouldn't: Why mess with perfection? It worked perfectly well the way it was. The two of them walking the line of siblings/'enemies', completely understand each other (even if they will never admit it) and not understand each other at all (I can't help but think about Max letting Logan think that her and Alec were together), is a layer added to the series, because they pretty much represent two point of views which need to find a way to work together. Hooking them up will be too easy.

Toughts?
