and I guess our original waitress was on lunch. They had a new girl who messed up the order and we ended up waiting an extra 30 min just for our food. Not to mention we had to keep asking her for the same thing twice. By the time we were done, our original waitress came back and apologized for the new girl messing stuff up. Now, the original waitress was really nice, but we tipped poorly since it seemed we were tipping the waitress who helped us the majority of the time (messing it up). I have to mention, our waitress had a long lunch because we were there for over an hour! Do you think it's fair that we tipped poor for bad service, even tho it ended up going to the original waitress?

Well she was new, so why didn't you just give her a break?

I think it's more than fair. I don't tip at all if I receive poor service. I don't believe in rewarding people for being rubbish at their job.
