Wow, Vicki, that really puts Florida’s current rainstorm in vivid perspective. ....How’s your headache?

Vin, at the Twilight trailer spoof.... Uh... I saw you typed the title of the trailer “Twilight” and thought “Twilight Zone” and at the beginning wondered why the YouTube video didn’t have anything to do with the TZ movie. I really need to read more carefully.

Here’s another one: The onlineTVG listed The DaVini Code and I settled in to watch the movie again. Oddly, the movie started out with lots of overly-endowed women in tight tops, short dresses and meager acting skills. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.... Until I took a closer look at the online TVG listing. The movie I was watching was The DaVinci Coed (Co-ed]. ....I really have to pay closer attention to what I read.

I don’t mean to start of the new thread with gripe, but is anyone else fed up with the noise pollution of chainsaws, leaf blowers and gas lawnmowers? Then there’s the fairly ubiquitous noise of people in my near neighborhood remodeling their homes. Practically as soon as one home is finished being remodeled, another house down the street or one street over starts a remodel. I just want peace and quiet when I’m home.......

That Twilight spoof was pretty funny, even if I do not know the overall story of Twilight anyway.

Tek, about the gripe with the lawnmowers, weedeaters and leafblowers, I am so with you on that. They seem to always be doing it here on the mornings in which I can sleep in. It always wakes me up and they do it for hours. It drives me nuts.

Lori, I hope that your principal sent everyone home and that you're in a lovely salon getting a foot massage.

WB, that noise pollution drives me too. One day you're going to read in the paper "Mild-mannered School Marm" Steals All of the Leaf-Blowers in the City." - or something worse. ...The very worst is that the lawns are mowed different times on different days. So it's constant. If one afternoon a week were declared "mow your lawn/blow your leaves" day, I could leave home and avoid it. But, nooooooooooo. We have gardeners here on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, mornings and afternoons.... enough already! .....And most gardeners don't have a clue that they are destroying their hearing with the loud noise. We have it bad for a while, then the gardeners finally leave; the gardeners are around the loud engines all day every day. ....Between loud music, iPods (I'm guilty of that), and gardening noise, we are rapidly on our way to becoming a nation of deaf people. ....I sure hope some boomer or gen X'er is close to discovering an artificial ear or a hearing aid that actually words effectively.

I have got to keep away from the thread. I seem to be in a pontificating mood. Vin, I just sent you a PM (translation: treatise) on improving reading. Someone please me so I will stop.

Nope. I got there at 10:30 and left at 4:30 due to overworked brain cells going numb.
My watch stopped working while I was there and a co-worker said it was its way of telling me that time had run out to prep for Monday.

jero, that's why I didn't dare start this very auspicious #100 thread, jero. ....Re your noisy frogs - it seems we just can't get away from annoying sounds, can we? I have lots of crickets in my backyard, but I'm used to them; they sort of remind me of camping.

I seemed to have missed the synchronized swimming events. It's fun to watch the athletes swim with their slicked back hair, their spatula applied make-up and those nose plugs. I suppose their performances will live on in YouTube. And I never did see the trampoline events, either. When did trampolining become an Olympic sport? Let me know when use of the TV remote control becomes a competitive event so I can sign up. I'd medal in that event for sure.

100 Celebration

Tek know what you mean I'm very lucky to leave in a quiet, calm area but the neighbors can be noisy everytime I just want to come home from work and read outside my door. The neighbor on the left of me have four kids and they like to scream bloody murder and the neigbors on the right like to hang around of the weekend and tie up their dog, so it just whine the whole time.

Kiddos arriving tomorrow. My group are newbies. And the other groups I'll be having are new too. I'm almost tempted to wish my oldies back - despite that they were a handful at times!

I'm reading Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. It is SO much better than Meyer's Twilight.

Gotta agree there. I love Charlene Harris.

I bought them when they first came out. I've seen them a ton of times. Whenever I watch them on TV now I always am like "Wait, there is a part missing." But then I remember that was the extended editions which they do not show on tv.

I keep telling Mom how much they cut out! I can't believe they cut out Christopher Lee altogether!

I've never watched any LOTRs I have the DVDs but they are still in plastic. Prolly not eh extended version tho. Michael and I need to watch together. He's dong LOTRs as english this semester. Is the EE editions out fo print?

Count me as a Charlaine Harris fan. Y'all are gonna love True Blood I just got all the audios that are in print so far. 2 books have not been made yet and of course, one is my favorite, book 5 Dead to the World. If anyone wants to try the books I have them on file for you to see if you like them.

Apropos to nothing... I watched Knocked Up again this week on cable. I realized that the drug-induced vision/Vegas show that the guys went to was Cirque de Soleil's Mystere which I saw when I went to Las Vegas last month. The show is quite amazing - and, as many of the Cirque productions are, a bit creepy, too - just as shown in the movie. The "overgrown baby with the bonnet" crying for his "mama" was part of Mystere, too.

Berry, I've been watching the Olympics, too. They have kept me up later than I should be up. And now the conventions start? At least they are not on west coast time, so they should be ending at an earlier hour than the Olympics. After getting all jazzed and wired from the Olympics, I don't know how much more adrenaline I have for the conventions.

We are watching the Olympics right now.

It's been super hot here. Today was 108!
Scorpions are coming out again. We found one out front in the bushes, one in the shower downstairs and one dead at the bottom of the pool. That was all yesterday.

We could look around our computer rooms and count the Jason Behr pictures and whoever has the most wins (I'm cheating....I have a Rosquilter's quilt that has a bazillion photos of all of them on it.


Oooh, eek, scorpions would freak me out big time. I barely contain myself with all the different spiders there are around here.

Believe or not, I don't have any JB pictures saved on my new computer. I do have a lot of TW.
