Full Version: Could Doctor Amarak have been a Cylon

The Space Channel here in Canada is showing BSG right from the very beginning and is in the middle of season 1

After watching Season 1 Episodes titled 33 & Six Degrees of Separation, it made me start to think that the mysterious character known as Dr Amarak may have been a cylon.
My reasons for this are:

1. Like Ellen Tigh, Dr Amarak was lucky enough to get on board a civilian transport the Olympic Carrier, and the Olympic Carrier was fortunate enough to survive the Cylon Attack against the Colonies.

2. After the Galactica & the RTF have been on the run for 5 days, Dr Amarak suddenly goes to the captain of the Olympic Carrier to have him send a message to the president on Colonial One, that there is a traitor in their midst, reponsible for the destruction of the colonies. (I'm thinking the Cylons were getting fed up with chasing and trying to track down the Galactica & the RTF, so they activated Dr Amarak, who could have been a possible sleeper agent, to sow chaos & confusion)

3. At the end of the miniseries SIBH said to Baltar that there were sleeper agents hidden in the fleet, that don't even know they are cylons until activated. Doctor Amarak could have been one of those sleeper agents.

4. If Doctor Amarak was a cylon it would explain how the Olympic Carrier was able to survive when it temporarily got separated from the Colonial Fleet. Remember the voice of the captain of the Olympic Carrier said that Doctor Amarak had an urgent matter to discuss with the president, was also driving the captain of the Olympic Carrier crazy.

5. If Doctor Amarak were a cylon I think he could have been either one of the Cavil or Simon models.

In the Episode "Six Degrees of Separation", Six, aka Shelley Godfrey mysteriously shows up on board the Galactica claiming to be an assistant to Doctor Amarak, with a disc showing the identity of the person responsible for sabotaging the defence ministry. In this case Baltar. Six/Shelly Godfrey also mysteriously vanishes from the Galactica as well once her little ruse is found out

One has to question how Doctor Amarak & Shelley Godfrey got a hold of the information on the disc, and were able to get to a ship especially after the government put a halt to all civilian shipping traffic after the nukes started falling

It could have some play.
It would be fun if they played it that way in the upcoming movie.

Did baltar claim to have ever met Dr. Amarak?

Baltar said to Roslin & Billy that he had worked with Dr Amarak at the Ministry of Defence

Well, that kind of puts a hole in the idea.
Baltar has met all the other Cylons.

The Doctor being one would make a lot of sense, as being a member of that race, it would be very easy to ignore the others whom came for treatment.
