Sneak Peeks

Sneak Peek #1 (MerDer, Alex, and Izzie)

Sneak Peek #2 (Original Interns & Bailey/Chief)

lol.gif @ Izzie. I love Katherine's facial expressions and the way she spoke her lines in these peeks.

The water coming through the elevator is neat nod.gif, and the elevator scene illustrated the S1-S2 banter between the interns. I still stand by what I said in the general thread about Derek kicking Alex and Izzie out rolleyes.gif. However, if Alex and Izzie are allowed to stay at Casa Interns, then compromises and some rules have to be made to accomdate everyone that lives there nod.gif. I wonder if this storyline will be used for humor throughout the episode.

Man, the Chief is yelling a lot these days. I love that they are using Izzie's clinic to help diffuse the situation.

thankyou.gif for the peeks , I wonder what happens to Izzie to make Alex test out her high pain threshold? shrug.gif

It looks as though season 5 is shaping up to be an improvement from last season and going back to its original roots, can't say i was too impressed with season 4.
TVR
Good question smile.gif Love her response though.... lmao.gif
And her trying to persuade Meredith with the use of muffins lol.gif

No prob wink.gif. I don't know shrug.gif. You think maybe it's an inside joke between Alex and Cristina, and they test it out on Izzie?

I love the muffin quote, and how Katherine says it lol.gif....."Eat the muffin, Mer. Taste the muffin. Remember the muffin" lmao.gif. Now I want a muffin lol.

Sneak Peek #3 (George, Alex, Cristina, Meredith, and Lexie)
http://vids.eonline.com/services/link/bcpi...bctid1840775238

Is it me or is the music too loud in this sneak peek? Biased-wise I don't like Lexie being in the group original intern scenes no.gif. We have nearly all the original interns there, but Izzie and IDK it just doesn't feel right shrug.gif. It didn't feel right when George wasn't included in S4 since he was resident, and it definitely doesn't feel right now having Lexie there instead of Izzie. It throws the dyamnic completely off for me. Plus I don't think Izzie comes later in that lunch scene either because Alex does the pain test later on Izzie in the elevator. So perhaps Izzie is down in her clinic helping the patients due to the flood.

Sneak Peek #4 (George about to re-take his test)
http://vids.eonline.com/services/link/bcpi...bctid1840775243

At least he didn't break the test seal yet, so he can leave and go to another room to take the test.

Sneak Peek #5 (Callica and Mark)

The episode was so-so, but you can tell it was setting things up for the season. How they did the flood was decent, and there was a bit of humor when the orderly almost fell from walking/running too fast lol.gif. I love that Mark is taking his teaching seriously, and listening to the interns around him. I hope they aren't going for a Mark/Lexie hook-up because I rather they stay with a mentor/older brother vibe with those two nod.gif. Man, I have this feeling the writers are so going to overuse Lexie's photographic memory lol.

A lot of Ausiello's spoilers were right, however; a lot of his spoilers were dead wrong especially on the "odd couple" skep.gif. It's as if he doesn't watch the show regularly, or he would have known that Callie and Cristina have been living together since early season four lol.gif. I'm glad Meredith stood her ground, and didn't kick out Izzie and Alex.

It was sad to see Izzie feeling very much alone since Cristina misinterpretated her moving in suggestion to Alex yet again being rude to Izzie(you got that Ausiello spoiler correct Keith wink.gif ). I would have loved for Izzie and Cristina moved into together since polar opposites characters bring out some interesting scenes. It seems Izzie is the only one that noticed Cristina living in Burke's apartment is hard for her. What I liked about Izzie in this episode she was annoyed with her friends, but also was supportive of them in her own way. On the subject of Alex the writers have to start backing up his lectures to his patients because at this point, as I stated numerous times, I'm really turned off by Alex and Alex/Izzie at this point. He says all these positive things that are self-reflective, but then he becomes a jerk around Izzie nono.gif. I'm honestly sick and tired of it, and have been for quite some time. So needless to say I'm looking forward to Izzie's yelling match with Alex next week lol. Though it was nice to finally see how much Ava meant to Alex by him acknowleding that she was his girlfriend.

Derek and Richard(which redeemed himself a bit at the end of the episode) were just gawd awful annoying in this episode especially Derek. Cristina was decent and I really enjoyed her scenes with Izzie because it's that polar opposite interaction I love to see Sandra and Katherine act out with each other.

It was nice to see Roswell's Nasedo in the episode grin.gif. I wonder if Katherine and him chatted on the set about their Roswell days. I was bit annoyed that we didn't see the Gizzie muffin scene from the episode stills. Hopefully we will be able to see it on the S5 dvd has a deleted scene or a Katherine/TR blooper.

Here's are the Izzie excerpts from the writer's blog:
QUOTE
Tell you what else I love in this episode: Alex. On the porch. When he says “Hello” to Izzie. I tell you, that Justin Chambers can do any freaking thing you throw at him. There was some discussion when the script came out of whether or not we should change that “Hello” to “Hi” which sounds more like Alex. But Justin? He pulled it off so beautifully. He made it sound like Alex and then some. The vulnerability under that one word... The subtlety… I just thought it was exquisite work.

Speaking of psychology, which I wasn’t just now, I was speaking of Justin but I’ve learned that when you say “speaking of” something, people usually go with you. It’s lazy, but I’m tired so… Speaking of psychology, how ‘bout Cristina? (I’ve never sat around with my sister Jenn and diagnosed the characters on this show the way I’ve sat around with her diagnosing every member of my own family, but I bet that would be a fascinating conversation.) Cause we know there’s actually a good and caring person somewhere inside Cristina. I mean, she cares enough about Meredith to storm Wyatt’s office, right? And Wyatt gets right away how vulnerable she is. How scared she is. (Even if she can’t admit it) But still – she totally stole Izzie’s apartment! And she didn’t even mean to! Izzie thinks she’s being evicted, and Cristina somehow convinces herself that Izzie pulled that flyer off the wall for her! I love it. We’re currently breaking episode 12 of season 5 and I’ve been here since episode 1 of season 1 – and I never get tired of writing these characters. And you know why? It’s cause so many of them so badly need a good shrink!

Alex, who clearly still has feelings for Izzie, is as mean as he can be to her until the very end – when maybe he’s thinking his luck’s gonna turn. And even then, all he can say is hello.

Izzie who is generally the happiest person we know, has ended up somehow all alone.

I think they do need to get over the Alex being mean to Izzie thing pretty soon...I mean...this is the fifth season you would hope he could at least manage not to treat her like crap by now. smile.gif I am amazed she didnt give up on him a long time ago, yet somehow she keeps coming back.

Interesting that Jim Ortlieb (Nasedo) was in the episode (I've not seen it yet). Did they share any scenes?

ITA nod.gif. It's somewhat hard to watch those patient scenes because they are basically meaningless since Alex doesn't back up what he says. Those Alex patient scenes are very much about Izzie, and he gives her(not knowing in this episode) these adoring looks. If Alex treated Izzie nicer, then I would be fonder of those things. Just that they basically mean nothing because he's still acting like a jerk, and him saying "hello" doesn't make for it shrug.gif. Those scenes worked well the first couple of seasons, but as you pointed out we are in the 5th season now. It's time to get pass this phase.

Hmmm..my brain is pretty fried right now, but I can recall one scene where Jim and Katherine were in the same room together smile.gif. Jim's character was moved to Izzie's clinic due to the flooding. While she was taking care of patients in her clinic across the room was Alex talking to Jim's character about finding hope -- something to live for. While Alex is talking to Jim he looks over at Izzie who is with a patient and laughing with them(Katherine looked so adorable in this shot) as symbolism that Izzie is Alex's "hope" -- Izzie is Alex's reason for living per se. That's the only scene I remember Jim and Katherine being in the same place.

I really wanted them to move in together lol. Love Izzie's purple top.

It certainly would have been interesting! Katherine was excellent (as ever) in that scene...the way she goes from all beaming and happy to shocked and annoyed when she realises the misunderstanding. Love it.

ITA nod.gif. It's one of reasons I enjoyed that scene because Katherine did a great job at showing a range of emotion for Izzie's character. Sandra, Katherine, and Sara did a great job at the underlying humor of that scene, and Katherine also had to express the vulerability(sp?) of Izzie's character. I love scenes like that because it's a roller coaster ride of emotion, and Katherine is just perfect at it.

Katherine looked so beautiful last night. Here's a brief screencap batch to look at smile.gif.

Yea, she did nod.gif. I loved how the porch scene began by having Izzie do a child-like mannerism of swinging in the porch swing. It was so adoreable and a bit sad because it emphasized the melancholy(IDK if that's the word for it) Izzie was going through. I wonder if it was the director or Katherine's idea to do the swinging.
