Hello Nat, nice to see you here. Since I love post-Graduation fics, here's my question : have you thought about writing a post-Graduation fic and if yes, what would you write for M&M, in this future?
April7739
Hey, Nat! I love everything you write. Now I recently read Lies My Father Told when you posted it on CID, and I was just wondering, how did the idea for it come about? What inspired you to write it?

Hi Nat, I was wondering do you prefer to write episode tags or original stories?
ashleyt
Thanks for the warm welcome grin.gif

I actually have been thinking about a Roswell/GA post-Graduation fic. I don't know if I'll actually write it lol.gif but it has potential.

Thanks April. It honestly came to me one day while I was in Intermediate Accounting class and as soon as it was done, I started writing it. I didn't grow up with a dad like Maria and I hadn't written anything even remotely personal either so I thought "why not?". I hadn't even realized it until recently but the title was similar to a BTVS S7 episode lol.gif

Ummm...I love writing both. Tags are great because they're short and they're the only times I write anything even resembling canon. Original stories are my favourite to both read and write because of the endless possibility. And that's also their only problem: The endless possibility makes it hard to focus the story.

I know what you mean grin.gif. Do you outline a story before you start writing or do you map it out as you are writing?
April7739
Okay, this is kind of a weird question, but do you have a favorite scene you've written in a fic? And if so, which one?

I try to outline my fics but that never fares well and I always end up just writing off the top of my head lol.gif

Well I wrote this snarky Roswell fic for some of my girls and there's this scene where the gang are all trying to name Isabel's husband (Jesse) and in the she end she goes:

"His NAME is JAMES"

To which Kyle (I think) whispers "Isn't it Jesse?"

That part kills me everytime lol.gif

In a fic I've actually posted....well I really like all of my sex scenes because I find them to be greater accomplishments than my actually fics. Smut is never easy to write, ya know?

Have you written for other fandoms?
fehrian
Natty! Woohoo, another author grin.gif

So to start off just wanna congratulate your success with your stories, and now the questions!

1 . Where do the idears for most of your fics come from?
2. Who/What inspires you?

I get what you mean! Smut scenes are really the hardest to write.

So give me a timeline here: What fic did you write first, second, third, etc. ? How do you think you writing style has changed over time, or has it not changed?

My first fic was Empty. Than Alive, Story of A Girl...and after that I'd have to check when they were posted to know the order lol.gif Has my writing changed or evolved? I hope so but honestly I still have an idea and write it out. While I attempt to make an outline that usually doesn't work, so everything that you read is right off the top of my head.

The only real difference (that I know for sure) is that now I completely write for myself. My first fic was about Maria walking in on Michael/Liz, so I wrote alive to explain it (which honestly was never really planned). And I remember when I started getting a lot of feedback for Look After You and it became about writing what I thought people wanted to read instead of writing my own story. That's mostly why I stopped writing it. Plus I was way more interested in the minor characters (Isabel, Kyle, Alex) and wanted to write more for them than I had originally planned while I still had to maintain the status quo (Liz, Tess, Max). And I also had the tendacy to make it more about Michael and Maria and it wasn't even a Candy fic!

So I went back to something I would always be more interested in (that was also less complex) which is when I started writing Lies My Father Told.

I haven't given up on Look After You but I wont post it until it's finished. Or anything else for that matter unless it's almost finished and I know I wont stop writing it. That's only fair.

I also think my recent foray into Buffy/Angel fan fiction (which has developed into an obsession of some sort lol.gif) is also affecting what I read and write. My latest fic (Rough Hands) has a lot of that gritty, love/hate aspect of what I've been reading. I'm in love with the unhappy love story and Rough Hands was an outlet for that.

With that in mind my next fic will be a happy one nod.gif Maybe a rom-com?

What do you wish to see more of in M&M fanfics? A certain storyline, stability of characters?

I think right now we've got a lot of great fics being posted. Most of all I would love for fics to be finished lol.gif Mine included.
mag
Which other characters do Michael and Maria remind you of (from other fandoms, I mean)?

I just wanted to thank Natandyagain for participating in the Author of the Week series. This thread will remain open so people can continue to chat about Natandy's stories and of course if Natandy doesn't mind answering any additional questions.

Thank you again Natandy!!
