Michaela is aka CandyGirl1980

I was born in Schwetzingen, a town near Heidelberg, on May the 16th 1980 to Edgar and Rosalinde. I was the second child, which means I´ve got an annoyingly five years older brother names Sven. I grew up in Plankstadt, a really small town, where I still live with my mother. I went to secondary modern school there until I was 16 years old. After that I switched to the commercial college for a higher education, which I left with 21. Then I made a training as an office clerk at the Road Building Departement in Heidelberg until I was 24. After that I took care of my mother, who has cancer. Alongside of that I studied Journalism from home. Last year I finished it and now I´m working as a free lance journalist while still taking care of my mother. We´re fighting an hopeless fight, but we´re trying to hold on.

My childhood was pretty ordinary, I´ve had lots of friends and I had been good in school, although I was often sick because I´ve got epilepsy and neurodermatitis. But that changed when my father died when I was 10. There I started to get quieter, pulled back from others and created my own worlds. I escaped in this worlds through books and movies. Then I hit puberty and I finally found two great friends, who were always there for me. I told them my stories I created in my mind. One day my friend said I should write it down, which I did. My first story was about the Backstreet Boys ( embarrassing I know ), my friends and me. Then I began with Horror, where Zombies and Vampire appeared, you know scary monster chasing three scared girls and their boyfriends. But I got bored with and turned to my first fanfiction, which I never posted anywhere. It was about Buffy and Angel, I was and still are a big Buffy Fan, although I´m more into Spuffy than Bangel now. Then Roswell came and I was instantly in love with Michael and Maria. I watched the show just because of those two. I wanted to know more about them and went to Roswell Websides, where I read my first Candy fanfiction. I was addicted to it and began with my own stories. I used every free minute in school to write and I was so into it that my teachers just left me alone, seeing as I wasn´t disturbing the class. My first fan fiction I posted was on Germany Roswell and it was in german, obviously. But it was not so good. Then I worked on Fight against Destiny, I had the first five chapters but I left it laying around for two years before Marmar on CID encouraged me to post it. So I did it and the feedback was so good that I continued to write. The smaller stories were just a distraction when I hadn´t any ideas for FAD. Actually the others weren´t planned, but the ideas just were there and I had to write them down. Writing for me is like therapy, especially now that my mothers so ill. I already started with my second novel, which I can´t post unfortunately, because I want to publish it as a book, even though I was dying to make it about M/M again. Well I´ve got so much ideas that I´m sure there are still a few stories in the back of my mind, which I´m trying to get down one day.

I think that was everything to know about me so far. If there´s still question, ask me.

You can find Micheala at CID under her pen name candygirl1980 or at Alien Blast Fan Fiction.

Hi Michaela, I'm sorry to hear that your Mother isn't well. Do you map out where your stories are going to go ahead of time or is more as an idea pops up you work it into the story?
April7739
How do your ideas for writing come about? Does it develop slowly over time, or do you just sort of having something hit you?

To go along with that, what do you do if you get a writer's block? (Or are you somehow a super-hero who doesn't have writer's blocks? spineyes.gif That would be cool.)

Well usually I have ideas and I wrote them in a book that I just have for my stories. But most of the time during writting the story change the curse and It´s a little different than I intended, which is often better than the idea I had before.

The ideas form most of the time when I´m watching a movie or read a book. I see a scene and I imagine it with M/M or with the others. Then it transfers into some storyline. Sometimes I even sit around waiting for something and then an idea hit´s me like a baseball bat.

Writer´s block is aweful, had a few myself in the past. But that´s the reason why I have other small stories I´m writting alongside my usual story. Í start something new and at some point an idea comes to me and the main story continues. Or here and there I´m even dreaming about the way the story can continue.

Hi Michaela!

Are there any fandoms you're really into now that you're tempted to write fanfiction for and if so, what are they?

What do you find most inspires you for your stories?

Also, when writing, do you need total silence or do you find having some sort of background noise helps you work better?

Hi Michaela wave.gif Welcome to the author of the week thread hug.gif

You had said you got ideas from movies and books- What are some of your favorite books and movies?

Does music inspire you? If so, who are some of your favorite artists?

I´m into Max and Maria friendship, Streetwalkers, don´t know why but I love Rath. and I´m a tiny fan of Lamptrimmer and Stargazer. Sorry dreamer, but that´s the only fandom I can´t stand.

Everything can inspire me. But most of the time it´s normal things as seeing the scenery passing my by when I´m driving in my car or waiting for someone and watching my surroundings.

I can´t write without music. I even have songs for every occassion. Ballads for sad scenes, metal for angry scenes, pop for happy scenes and movie soundtracks for fighting scenes.

Hi Michaela Welcome to the author of the week thread

Thank you

You had said you got ideas from movies and books- What are some of your favorite books and movies?

I love Brenda Joyce´s Masters of time series, Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code from Dan Brown. I like Thriller most, but sometimes I even read Nicholas Sparks. Movies I like are scary movies, action movies and comedy. Movies inspiring me had been Star Wars, Lord of the rings and Harry Potter. Scream triology, Nighmare on elmstreet and Friday the 13th are cool. There are so many books and movies I could count, but that would take too much time.

Does music inspire you? If so, who are some of your favorite artists?

Yes I need music when I write. I like metal, new metal, hardrock, rockmusic and classic rock and Gothic. Linkin Park, STaind, Metallica, LIfehouse, Within Temptation and Evanescence are my favourite artists. But I even like Pussycat dolls, Pink, Kelly Clarkson. Movie soundtracks are really good for writing, especially action movies.
