Do you plan your Black Friday with the precision of a military unit?

Do you and your family fan out across Wal-Mart in color-coordinated sweats, walkie talkies in hand, to find the best deals on the day after Thanksgiving? Is Black Friday - the opening of the holiday shopping season - an annual event at your house that requires scouring ads, planning ahead and coordination?

On Friday, I went with my mom and younger sister to JcPenney's at 4 a.m. and got a nice brown velour jumpsuit and a stainless steel toaster for $27. After that, we went to Macy's where I bought a 12 piece stainless steel Tool of the Trade cookware set for $30. Next, we went to Staples where I picked up 2 DVD cases for $10 each. At Walmart, I picked up a blender and 2 pairs of jeans for a total of $30 and at Office Depot I got two 50 pack of blank DVDs for $8 each. Finally, I picked up a DVD player and a coffee maker for $22. Overall, I think I did pretty good and I even stuck to my list of things I wanted.

At the Day After Thanksgiving sale, I bought 2 $3 jackets for my daughter, a pair of $9 jeans which came with a free shirt, 2 packs of batteries for $5, a pack blank DVDs for $15, a vacuum cleaner for $25, a DVD player for $20 and a 1 TB external hard rive for $60. In all, I got everything I wanted and didn't go overboard. glow.gif
