Roswell friends and I have been discussing the very same thing off board since last week! lol.gif
It's not hard to make comparisons.

Only counts if you watched Roswell lol.gif

Is the article safe to read? I shouldn't be afraid of spoilers since I read the book but film adaptations always differ in some way or the other, so I'll be my cautious self wink.gif

I haven't read Twilight yet, and I don't plan to till the movie hype dies down. But I think I'll read the first few chapters to check the comparison. Thanks for the link! smile.gif

Personally, i prefer Twilight to Roswell. I find it more romantic and intense! (Please don't kill me! haha!) Still loving Roswell though nod.gif

Aliens or Vampires??? Hmmm .... shrug.gif

I usually end up going for the human ... grin.gif

Liz or Bella ... Now THERE's a question... lol.gif

All things considered I'll take Bella ... love.gif

I didn't know what Twilight was until the movie came out and, yes, I immediately thought of Roswell. I remember asking everyone around me who had watched Twilight "Did you watch Roswell? Isn't Twilight a lot like Roswell?" I'm pretty hooked on Twilight now, have read all four books (more than once), but do I love it more than Roswell? I d'know. The similarities are undeniable from the superficial (all four characters are brown-eyed brunettes) to the underlying we-shouldn't-be-together-it's-too-dangerous love story. Plus, the use of the term "shapeshifter" - hello?? that's utterly Roswellian! And I love the ch-ch-changes (geddit? lol.gif ) that Bella and Liz go through.

I read the Twilight series before I started watching Roswell (I was late to roswell), and I have to say that Roswell is much better.
At first I really liked Twilight, but then I realised how there is virtually no storyline for the first 400 pages, it is basically just Bella talking about how ohsoamazing Edward is. And then in New Moon, he leaves her so she turns all whiny and stupid, and jumps off a cliff. And don't even get me started on the 4th book. Growth-accelerated vampire hyprid spine-breaking babies? I mean, come on.
After watching Roswell, I realised how Twilight basically ripped it off. But its getting so much more attention than Roswell ever did. At least Roswells lead, Liz, is strong, independant, and can actually cope without Max. In Twilight, Bella is just a grumpy cow who clearly had no plan for the future until Edward came along. And when he leaves? Well, she has no point anymore.

Overall, Roswell is better than Twilight could ever be.
