I'm from the USA.
I got turned on to this whole message board thing way back when the amazing and short-lived Young Americans first aired.
Luckily for me, the amazing and talented Katherine Moennig was cast in The L Word, thus leading me here. Well, thus leading me to obsess over any new info regarding this show, to creating a website with my partner in crime, and then leading me here.

I work as a videotape operator at a cable TV company (yes...great connections) and Im a photographer / filmmaker in my spare time.

So lets all chill in the cafe and get to know each other...and hope that we'll be here for a while

(Just like Katherine) Workin' for THE Mouse.
The same story, followed Katherine from the much-missed Y.A. I thought she was brave and brilliant as Jake. While in mourning... still, for my show, one day stumbled on a Rawley site, found the message boards and so many fabulous people, who shared interests...and I got hooked!
So I lurk & chat here, enjoy acting & writing in my spare time, playin' at the parks in Orlando, with friends.

In my spare time I photograph, do voluntary work for a Swedish HBT (homo-, bi-, trans-) organisation and draw.

i'm nemi, obviously, and i'm in brisbane. came here from norway 3.5 years ago to study. i don't have any pics to dazzle you with at the moment, so you're just going to have to trust me in the fact that i am extraordinarily good looking

like so many of you here (ok, only 2, but still) i'm into filmmaking, photography etc., and i'm doing a media/cultural studies degree at uni, so watching television is part of my homework!

i caught the last 15 minutes of Law and Order SVU when Katherine Moennig was on, and was totally impressed by her performance, so i looked her up to find what else she'd been in, thus found out about the L word. doesn't look good with regards to it ever airing in australia, but there's always dvd...*crosses fingers*

I don't have a pic but I feel like I should introduce myself anyway. I'm Manu (well, that's actually my nickname but...), 19 years old (20 in March), female, single , living in Brazil and majoring in Journalism.

I first heard about The L Word through one of my friends last year because everybody knows I'm completely obsessed with Mia Kirshner . But don't worry Kate fans, I love her too, as I used to watch Young Americans every week.

Can't wait for the show to start and hopefully to make new friends around here.

And I've already fallen in-love with a beautiful woman named Wolfy, and a lot like Bette and Tina we have been commited to each other for almost 6 whole years now. We've known each other for almost 8 years, we got to know each other and then, finally, after I got to fly half-way across the country to meet her, we fell in love instantly. We actually got to spend our first full-fledge holiday together as a couple, it was Thanksgiving 2003! Hey there!! I just found this message board and wanted to say how cool it was. Let me just start by saying that I think it's great for the gay community that a show like the L Word has finally been developed. I know that over the years there have been many gay people lobbying to be depicted well and accurately represented on television and in movies. Since this is the "introduce yoursef" thread I will do just that. My name is Felicity and I'm 22 year old female from Florida. I'm straight, but am very accepting of homosexuals. For me, a person loves who they love regardless of their gender and sometimes when you have that connection and chemistry with someone, there's nothing you can do but act on it. I think that the main thing everyone strives for in life is just to find that one person who makes you feel alive and it may come in the form of something you never expected, but nonetheless you can't cheat yourself out of a possible soul mate. Growing up I came from a very sheltered household and never knew anything about homosexuality until I got into my junior year in high school. And now I'm seeing and hearing all these different things, and I'm thinking, wow, I had no idea. I don't have any gay friends, but me and my straight friends are very accepting of gays and their lifestyle. When it gets down to it, love is love. We can't really help who we fall in love with, and I think that that's what a lot of people need to realize. That love transcends the gender part of a person...and goes deeper into their soul. Maybe I'm just rambling at this point, but hey, it's just my opinion. Anyways, it's nice to meet you all and I hope you keep me up to date with this show seeing as how I don't have Showtime....DAMMIT!!!! I'm very interested to see what it's like to be homosexual and to deal with such a lifestyle. Have a great New Year and ROCK ON!!!

I don't consider being a lesbian a lifestyle. I know when I came out to my mom we had a long, humorous conversation about this. Some people do call it a lifestyle, but for me it's just an aspect of me, like having green eyes is. I brought this up because I'm actually hoping the show touches on it (and a zillion other things).

I hope you get to see the show and come back and talk about it with us!

I don't think being homosexual affects who you are as a person. It's just a small part of who a person is. One of my cousins is gay (she's actually one of the only people I know who's gay) and it didn't change who she was as a person. So it's all good

I hope I get to see the show too...it sounds interesting and hopefully will educate me more. I can only pray that someone shares it on Kazaa or something. I'll definitely come back here and talk with you guys. Have a great New Year!!

Hey guys, I found this MB coz some1 on the MB of my fav tv program (Bad Girls) posted a thread about this new show, thought it sounded interesting, so i decided 2 have a look at the site and found a link 2 this forum. My name is Leah, i'm 21, and i'm from Perth, Western Australia. I also liked Young Americans wen it 1st came on tv over here, and was really annoyed wen they took it off half way through the 1st season, and then later down the track found that they had just stuck it on in the middle of the nite some time, by the time i realised, i had missed a whole heap of episodes, and from wat i saw they continued 2 mess around with it, taking it off and putting it back on without warning. Which is typical of Aussie tv stations, but dont even get me started on that, u wouldnt believe how many of my fav tv programs they have stuffed around with Just as well The L Word will b on SBS, they r quite reliable, and have done a good job with showing QAF.
