Here's the thread to list anything about music related to The L Word.

So far, except for the score music and the recording by Pam Grier & Snoop Dogg, the music for the show (as heard in the promos) comes from Fisher.

Fisher is a kick-ass group and their CD is great. I have their newest CD that has the songs from the promos on it: Different Kind of Wonderful, and Dirty Girl.

They really rock, and you should check them out.

Does anyone know of any other music that will be used either in the episodes or for promos?

i like fisher too although i'm a biger fan of their upbeat songs. which is why i listen mostly to the uppers CD.

ofcourse i got to know them bcoz of the show but now i know a lot of their songs...
DIFFERENT KIND OF WONDERFUL is my ultimate FAVE!
DIRTY GIRL brings a huge smle to my face, i picture shane going "u totally ust got laid, didn't u?" ike she asks in the promo, it's the most fun song i ever heard it makes me lough and dance around to t all the time

the third one i like is also upbeat OBLIVIOUS
then there's the slower ones HAD TO, FEBRUARY 94, TRUE NORTH, I WILL LOVE U and BREAKABLE

Yeah, I love the Uppers CD as well. I've actually only listened to the Downers CD once or twice.

I love the usuals "Different Kind of Wonderful," "Dirty Girl," also "Oblivious" and "L.O.V.E."

I think Fisher is really amazing though, and her songs should get a wider release and more airplay. Hopefully the exposure with The L Word will help.

fisher is cool but i really like the song "your everything" by the guys who did the score...
that is the song to which beth and whatever-her-name make love to.....damn is HOT!

There will be a soundtrack eventually, but soundtracks are always limited. Obviously they can't include every song on one. That's why we're fortunate that the producers have decided to share the music with The L Word Online. To find out about music from the pilot episode, visit this page. hey slicey! thanks for the music info, so did they abandon the emboznik theme song? I wasn't too fond of the opening song they used this week. I hope that's not what they plan to use for the theme song.

Thanks acid, I don't think we actually heard a "theme song" this week...think that will come with our first glimpse of the opening credits. We're actually waiting to hear back on info about Emboznik, so I'm not sure yet if they'll use a song from the score, or a song from one of the artists.

Yes, what DID happen to the emboznik music? Loved it in "Earthlings" -- thought it made the bette-tina sex scene even hotter... hope it makes it's way back.

anybody know what song they used in the bette/tina lovescene in "let's do it"? It sounds strangely familiar but i can't quite remember who it is or what the song title is.

i really liked the song in the first episode when jenny and marina were making love. it sounded really cool and just seemed really appropriate for the scene.

played during the closing credits this past Sunday, February 1st, 2004.

Part of the words were:

"the way you move" and

"right in time"

It was sung by a woman who had an absolutely beautiful voice.

Hello! I am French and still a fan of the L word. The music on the show is really great but far from what we can listen in France. So my first question : is there someone who can give me the title and the singer of the song which is present at the beginning of the 5th episode (Lies, lies, lies) when Jenny meets Marina in the unisex ?... And my second question : I've read the guestbook on the "L word online "and some people talk about the Marina's departure in the second season... Marina is my favorite character... So is this a simple rumour or a truth? Thanks in advance for your answers...

I loved this song, too..first time I heard it (or of him). Nice music to one of my favorite scenes so far in the series--the porch not the breakfast (altho the food looked good hehe). Always makes me sigh.. *sigh* I played it over and over again, and finally decided to figure out the chords so I can play it myself I'd be happy to send the chords and words to anyone who might be interested it's not that hard to play, thank god

Transientworld does not yet have a CD out but they will be releasing one this year. In the meantiime, you can browse their site http://www.transientworld.com and they have clips there of some of the osngs they used in the ep.

also that song they play when they focus on alice's sexter chart is alo the same as the song they use during the opening titles. It's the L Word theme and it's not yet available anywhere.
